Rtings setting are a good base, but don't be afraid of experimenting a bit too. I set my base with rtings and adjusted to my preference and love the settings I have now.

I don't normally play spring training but I decided to in full 4k and hdr. For a game or two. Not sure I'm gonna try the enhanced. This looks so good and I don't want to not go back. Im 5 innings in and fine playing so far framerate wise.

Well I turned HDR off and saved it. Rebooted the game and went into a day game again. Looking better. I think HDR off on the Sony X800D is the way to go.

I want to be happy playing this game visually so I think I will be with HDR off. Doesn't affect enhanced visuals or framerate anyway.

On what setting? 4K, enhanced visuals or high frame rate? And do you change any setting on the tv itself?

Maxed out HDR on original PS4 in main menu then turned on hdr on my tv. The game looks amazing. Not sure since it's my first game if it's doing anything. Going to turn off next game and see what it does.

Not sure how it could look any better really.

Yeah bro, if you can do it drop the extra cash for the Samsung 8000/8500. More bang for your buck and you won't worry about things being dim. I'm also an elite member and the return policy is awesome and they never ask any questions. I started out with the Vizio P series and it was my girlfriend who said it was to small lolol so I exchanged it for a bigger Samsung and could not have been happier. The KS8000 is one of the better gaming Tv's, if not the best. LG users may differ but our input lag is still lower

4k. These are the rest of the settings. In movie picture preset using game mode.

They should really implement something similar to Mass Effect: Andromeda in regards to properly calibrating the HDR intensity in game. In ME:A, there are two white boxes next to each other, one is slightly off white, and you adjust HDR intensity just until the two boxes blend together.

I have absolutely no idea what to set HDR intensity to in MLB The Show. I recall in one of the Dev live streams they said the HDR bar goes from 0-1000 nits, but I have no clue how many nits my Vizio P65 is in HDR, and even if I did, would it be the appropriate setting?

That's how it is in Horizon Zero dawn as well. It makes calibrating so much easier.

I wouldn't give up man.. you'll just have to find what works for this tv. I'm sure you can get the HDR to work just fine.
