Brightness, HDR, backlight, model type, settings, etc etc

What a cluster**** of settings everywhere. Enough to drive a grown man insane.

Ahh, the simple times of tube televisions and coaxial cable connection setups.

If you're already spending $1,100 on a tv what's another $100?

I have no issues with my 8500 other than some light bleed at the bottom but I don't believe that to be specific to the curved version. The curve is very subtle. I don't see a reason to spend 100 more on a flat one.

This is the problem JR is referring to. You say you are giving an opinion yet multiple times you have told people they are wrong and you are right. That's not how opinions work.

Why not let him enjoy his tv how he wants and just go on about your own settings instead of stating how wrong and bad his are? Or atleast help him in a positive manner.

Sorry to go off topic here but it's ridiculous someone is enjoying their settings and sharing only to be told how "bad" it looks and you ain't even there.

I only have a regular PS4 (saving up for PS4 pro) but I have a 4K HDR tv. Should i I change any of the hdr setting on the show? Sorry if already asked.

Yeah I meant that was my reasoning for spending the extra $100. They are the same tv except one is curved so I would imagine you will be extremely happy with the 8500.

Do any one have dead pixels in high frame rate? I thought it was my TV at first but than switch to the other modes and the dead pixels are gone. It is not a big issue just wanted to make sure I am not the only one

I'm sure it was just a problem with BB's display version. The 8500 is a fine TV as well.

I have it and it's better to buy than the KS8000 IMO because it doesn't have the bezel separation issue. That is if you don't mind the curve of the set. Honestly other than walking in from the room and seeing it from the side I don't notice it when watching.

And actually I think it looks pretty high tech, so I love the look. No curved TV is that old.

Happy isn't the right word, this game is a sports legend in this household already (assuming we ignore the online stuff, LOL) and is the go-to game to show off my PS4 Pro and television.

P.S. I have the Costco curved version of the KS8000, the KS850D.

I don't believe I've ever told him anything. Many others here have said things to others when they've noticed something wrong yet you want to single me out? I had a cordial discussion with one other person about dynamic contrast and trying to help out. So many times I've told people they are wrong and I'm right? That's all I've done in this thread? You'd be surprised how many times people have hit me up asking me questions and I'm always willing to help.

Watch this and you will definitely then prefer the KS8500 over the KS8000 even if they are the same price..

If we're talking about that guy with the cartoon graphics and super mario colors, sorry but those settings are wrong. Yes how things look are a matter of opinion but it's quite clear the display is not setup correctly because those colors are not natural and are clearly oversaturated.

Anyone know anything about this, or something i need to do to unlock the HDR setting in game?

Edit: nevermind i figured it out, had to turn the UHD on.

I think it looks better without HDR enabled anyways. I'm gonna keep tinkering with it.
Some Tv's have a pseudo HDR that applies it to SDR content. It's not real HDR and won't get recognized by the source. On the TV you shouldn't have to set it to HER manually (if it's really HDR). It recognizes the HDR signal and kicks into HDR mode.

The Show has HDR off by default. Once you flick it on, the TV should blank for a second and switch to HDR mode. The backlight should max out and the pseudo HDR setting I believe should be left on/high also (depending on your tv).

HDMI black level should be set to full or auto on both pro and TV. Color Space to Auto.
