The Sony X900C 4k LED TV is very thin and has good color accuracy at an angle. However, the blacks are poor and not uniform, which means it is not a great choice...

Sony has been falling behind in lag time the last few years.

I am not saying HDR is working correctly with The Show......far from perfect.

First things first..go to picture, then expert settings and make sure the UHD color is on for whatever port your PS4 is connected to.

Then next, settings > Picture > Special Viewing Mode: Game mode on

      Backlight 20

      Brightness 45

      Contrast at 95

      Sharpness at 0

      Color at 50.

      Tint 50

      Smart led High

      Black level auto

      Resolution at auto

      Dynamic contrast off.

      Color tone warm 1

      Gamma 0

      Color space auto

PS4 - set all visual options to AUTO, do the test when done to verify everything 4K and HDR is working and supported as they should be.

P.S. you will see a setting in the picture menu called HDR+, ignore it and do not turn it on, it's a Samsung thing they came up with to try to make non-HDR content better. You will not be using this feature if you know what's good for you.

I was inputting your suggestions for settings and I don't have the resolution option in expert settings. I have a KS8000

Yeah there is something wonky with that. I posted a few pages back giving my issue with it. I reset everything (PS4 and. TV) and this morning it looked gorgeous again so leaving it at 20 and not touchng it as it really couldn't look any better.

I really wish I could post a pic for you guys to see. It looks great but I need another eye to let me know if its a tad bright. But all the pics I take don't even come close to showing what it really looks like.

Followed up on ODogg's suggested settings for my KS8000, namely setting Color Space to Auto so the colors don't oversaturate, and turned off Dynamic Contrast. Also pumped up the Backlight to 10 after switching on the HDR (set to 100% in The Show menu).

Looks really good! I'll roll with this for this game for a few contests in a few different parks then decide if I'm 100% signing off or if I go back to deciding I prefer it to look a bit more 'videogamey'.

I have a Sony x800d 49!inch and I used ratings.com setting but changed the color to 70 and also change do it from expert 1 to neutral. I have hdr set to 15 and I think I am going to keep my settings.

Your backlight is supposed to be maxed to 20 for HDR content. Also, set Smart LED to high.

I don't understand how people are saying the HDR bug is AFTER you go into the game menu and tweak the setting, not before. If I start a new game, it looks terrible. The sky is almost grey-ish on a sunny afternoon sunny day. In fact, if I go into the settings and turn HDR off, it looks basically identical. Then once I go and turn HDR back on, it looks good again. Definitely not overly bright. I have the KS8500 and I'm certain that the settings match what is posted here (both for the TV and for the PS4 PRO).

Your whites are rather red. Is that just from the camera?

I'd dive into the White Balance settings (if available) and lower the red offset immediately, otherwise.

Yeah this is crazy. I keep messing with settings but nothing I do makes it look better than with HDR off in the end. Until we know exactly what's going on I done dealing with it. For real this time lol.

Yeah I have never messed with anything. The homeruns and starting pitching being removed early are some more pressing things that I have seen and would like to see patched asap.

At the end of the day, set it to what looks best to your eyes. While there is a standard for a "true" picture, most of us like a bit more of this and less of that.

Me, for example. I like Odoggs settings as a baseline. I have found since setting it this way that I prefer color space on native. Now, Auto is technically the correct, truest setting but damn if I don't prefer native for that extra pop in the colors.

Experiment with a baseline and tweak to taste.
