Nope. Didn't check them last year, not fooling with them this year. My t.v. is settings are perfect.

It definitely sounds like an issue with your TV settings.

Your TV should have various video presets so you can have one preset set up perfectly for when you watch TV/DVD/BR and another preset set up perfectly for when you play video games. Then you can quickly and easily switch between the two depending on what you are doing.

One thing I noticed that is no longer in the game for some reason: if your RttS player wins some sort of award in the offseason (or All-Star game), there used to be a cut scene the next game you play mentioning it. That's no longer there....not sure why.

For some people(like me)there was a problem in 16.My SP was awarded the Cy Young(that he won the year before)before about 80% of the games he started.

I love the game, however, a big negative is the games at dusk in most of the stadiums....ugh.

The game is so dark I have to go to quick manage for at least the first 3 innings. Today at PNC park it was awful and I had to go up to the 5th inning to where it was bearable.

I guess I'm just going to have to play in domed stadiums. Don't know what other fix there is, but, IMO, this is glaringly bad.

Geez, there's always something with this game. Things that should have been ironed out by now.

I don't have MLB 17 yet, but I had a similar issue with the NHL series. It does have to do with your TV settings. I have a SONY TV and there is a "Scene Adjustment" setting where you can put it on "Game", or "Cinema", etc. "Game" is brighter and more vibrant.

Hitting is off in this game. Far too often I'm making weak outs on pitches over the heart of the plate that I hit with "good" timing. I'm not one who thinks good timing should automatically mean homeruns. I still want the players in my franchise to reach reasonable numbers. I'm constantly getting outs on balls in the middle of the zone that should be punished. "Good" timing on pitches on the inner half are being hit foul by a good distance. You're better off being just late on most pitches you swing at. I'm seeing hits of 100+ MPH going to the opposite field on pitches that are inside... basically what should be a jam shot.

Baserunning still has some bugs to work out. Runner on second and a base hit barely makes it through the infield and the runner from second automatically slides into third even though you're sending him home the entire time. I've been robbed of many potential runs because of this. Hit and run suffers from the same thing (automatic slide into second even though you're mashing for the runner to go to third).

Check swings look awesome this year. Problem is, with analog (+ stride) hitting, if you flinch, it's a a full power swing. There's times where I don't even press up on the stick a third of the way and the player swings through.

Franchise is still very streaky for me. This has been the case the last few years for this game. I'll win 6 or 7 games in a row followed by a 4 or 5 game losing streak. Ultimately I'll end up winning around 90-100 games with a team that should win that many games but the game is way too streaky in franchise; at least in my experience. This goes for the players ups and downs as well.

I pitch with the analog pitching interface and I'm finding that it's very easy to get up in the count 0-2. I give up way too many 0-2 hits in this game when I'm trying to pitch out of the zone. The game "adjusts" my input and puts a pitch over the plate when I'm trying to bounce a breaking ball. Not saying it shouldn't happen but I give up a ton of 0-2 homers and there's no advantage to being up in the count. It's almost a disadvantage.

Retro mode suffers from not being able to pre-load your throws. The cut off AI is also pretty bad. The baserunning is also a little buggy. You can highlight a runner (red dot turns yellow) and tell them to advance a base repeatedly only to have them stop at the base and then decide to go when it's already too late. I've had runs get stranded on third and easy doubles not happen.

I'm finding that the framerate is sub par. I'm seeing it mainly when I'm hitting. Maybe it's because I don't have a PS4PRO?

I actually like this game. This is easily the best baseball game made. Hate to only gripe about the negative things but they need to be brought to attention in order for next years game to be even better. Hopefully another patch is in the works to better balance the game. Default sliders and all star difficulty by the way.

I'm still enjoying the game.. But it seems like I hit less now than before when I first got the game. I was mashing homers & runs and now it's not as frequent. But still enjoyable. I had a game a few back where I cranked 2 homers with Buddy Bell, 3 with Freeman & 2 with Reggie Jackson. They were my 2, 3 & 4 hitters. Lol. I also just got the platinum for it a few minutes ago.

I am sure in the 97 pages, it's been addressed, but does anyone else have the issue of the pitchers jaws and mouths freaking out during cut-scenes?

I wish that the ball was not brightened and enlarged when hitting with pitcher cam, it looks like a softball coming in. I see the ball just fine, when I'm pitching from the same cam.

This. And the stupid red halo around the ball, after it's hit in play in RTTS or using player lock. Absolutely ruins the immersion factor. At least give us the option to turn this stuff off!

I never got why they don't have the option of only seeing the strikezone when you pitch and not when you bat.

Eh. It's just another sports title that doesn't fix it's problems from year to year and/or introduces new ones that will just drive you insane within weeks.

I love this game (since PS2 days)...A+...but you mentioned turning stuff off...my only pet peeves:

1. Love to be able to turn off the huge baserunning diamond (can't stand that it is even in no doubt foul balls (deep into the stands), no doubt homers, throws over to check runners, etc.))
2. Love to be able to turn off the slow motion slides on close plays
3. Love to be able to turn off the manager tips, xp point notifications
4. Love to be able to turn off the defensive icon shift notifications

Like the previous posts, i bat from BTP view and being able to turn off these items bring this game closer to true broadcast look and feel while playing (i'm personally a single vs cpu offline player)

Auto fielding manually throwing (no icons); Classic Pitching (no icons)...Broadcast view defense, BTP offense...so close to perfection already...being able to turn off all unnecessary icons, notifications...perfection!

Eh. It's just another sports title that doesn't fix it's problems from year to year and/or introduces new ones that will just drive you insane within weeks.
