Okay. Guess it makes perfect sense for the same guy to announce in every stadium. You've convinced me.

It has nothing to do with making sense its called not being able to get every single PA announcer to record lines and player names. Use a brain, if you have one.

And this conversation is over as you've now proven yourself not worth wasting time on.

As said by someone who got proven wrong and doesn't know anything about game development.

2.5 seasons in and I still believe last year's game was better. The fielding has way too many issues with it(it did last year too) and the hitting has become incredibly RNG. When I go into my hitting analysis after games and consistently see that I hit 1 for 11 or 2 for 13 on good timing swings on very hittable balls, it gets annoying. I can't find a balance with the sliders at all this year. I either literally win with 18 runs or lose with 2. There is no middle ground in franchise mode. I played near 20 games of play now to make my sliders and was having a fantastic array of games, but the second I started playing franchise mode my team couldn't hit at all. I go out to play now, play a few games and am able to hit at a realistic amount. Come back into franchise mode, good timing after good timing and it's out after out after out. Do you know how irritating it is to play 10 games and bat under .200 on balls put into play? Then when you try and do one little tweak to help your hitting, you get 25 hits the next game, 21 the game after, and 17 the game after that, scoring 42 runs over those 3 games....

              No...because I've never experienced that.

I'm amazed by the hit variety in this year's game. I'm still seeing hit types that I've not yet seen after a couple of hundred games played, and I'm seeing incredible hit variety. That makes such a huge difference when it comes to longevity/replay value.

ive been on the fence with this game for a while now... some days its great others not so great..
this morning i decide to do some testing with replay and the fact that some outcomes cannot be avoided

first i was pitching with aaron sanchez against a tigers line up that was pretty bare aside from miggy.. i saved the game after the first inning and went back to finish this morning, bad idea, after quitting the game 6 times and about 20 innings played (all together) aaron sanchez got rocked every time and only managed to strike out 2 batters. are you kidding me

second... every 0-2 1-2 count i threw in the dirt, CPU would foul off, i was getting so upset... finally i decide to check replay and they were fouling of balls that the bat missed by at least 3 feet (i never seen this before)

i have no problem losing as i am in 3rd in my division playing every game ( 100 games played ) but i just feel cheated.... my team couldnt make contact against Verhagen or whatever his name is because the ball would go through the bat while cpu would foul off, single, or double off balls they dont make contact with

my satisfaction with the show is slowely diminishing...

I had a similar experience last year so I know what you mean. That said, I still love this game.

Having a lot of fun playing this game, but noticed using one set of sliders pretty much made it the same type of game almost every time. Made about 15 different slider settings and randomly load one before each game, and the variant in game play is much more enjoyable.

Pitcher consistency should be an attribute and not a slider.

Consistency is exactly what makes good players good. The difference bewtten Bruce Rondon and Justin Verlander isn't "stuff", it's consistency. So why should "pitcher consistency" apply to all pitchers across the board?

So I'm a little late to the party. Been editing until now.

Got into my first game and I was totally blown away by the visuals. I have a PS4 Pro and 4K/HDR TV running "enhanced visuals" mode and I couldn't believe what it looked like. The colors. The light and reflections. My God. The smoothness of "enhanced visuals" mode has me considering trying the true 4K mode.

The MLBN presentation is fantastic and the overlays look great. I need to play a little bit more to weigh in on the commentary team.

And, geez, the ball physics. My 2nd batter of the game, Nick Castellanos, roped (it literally looks like a frozen rope now!) a screaming (105 MPH) double off Bartolo Colon and past the left fielder. It was great to see the ball path very noticeably slice down the line. Almost like a slurve.

My 3rd batter of the game, Miguel Cabrera, gets up 3-1 and pulls a grounder (94 MPH) past 3B for an RBI single. This batted ball sliced a little bit toward the foul line but it didn't hook as noticeably as the previous hit.

4th batter of the game, Justin Upton, keeps the rally going with a low line drive of a double (103 MPH) past 3B. The one was not as dramatic of a curve as the Castellanos hit, but still effective enough to get a down-the-line double. During the AB, I heard Vasgersian mention how Upton has taken Bartolo deep once before. And I remembered they added the player-vs-player type commentary lines.

5th batter of the game, V-Mart, flies out to medium RF and Miggy gunned down by Kepler while trying to tag from 3rd.

Next half inning, I saw Jose Iglesias "warp" through Alex Presley after making a catch on a pop fly (72 MPH) in shallow CF.

Cut to the stands, the fans don't look much better than previous versions. However, the PBR/texuring is better on the dirt right around home plate, the bricks at Comerica Park, the uniform fabric.

Also in the next half-inning, Verlander got Joe Mauer to line out (99 MPH) harshly to Upton in LF going back on it. This batted ball stayed more true, so it's good to see that variety in the hit trajectories.

The batted balls have closely followed the swing timing/location results. I haven't really had a good swing result in a weakly hit ball. Nor have I crushed something with poor timing. Late means oppo, early means pull as you'd expect. I had seen different opinions posted on OS about squaring up the ball, but it is working fine for me. Bartolo is probably a good pitcher to start off against as he's sitting in the 87-88 MPH range, lol. Build that confidence.

Final impression of this sesh...I struck out Buxton to end the top of the 3rd and my catcher, John Hicks, does that fist pump animation as he's catching the ball and darts off the field. I'm pretty much feeling the same way.

Wanted to amend this part of my impression from above. While the fan models don't look any different, I did notice the fans are wearing personalized jerseys instead of "Player 0." It is all the same player jersey though. In Philly, everyone was wearing a #37 Odubel Herrera jersey. In Minnesota, it was #2 Dozier. In Detroit, they were all #35 Verlander jerseys.

                                WaitTillNextYear,

Glad you're finally joining the fun. I can tell you the game IMO plays best on enhanced visuals vs true 4K. The framerate is just amazing on that setting plus you get the enahnced visuals. On 4K it looks flat out insane, but you suffer some framerate drop-off.

I am still blown away how gorgeous the game looks this year, and just wait till you start seeing close ups of pitchers sweating. You see it dripping down their faces!!!!

Hit variety even after over 120 games played still amazes me. And the vastly improved fielding animations and throwing animations coupled with the humanity AI is truly next gen baseball.

Enjoy it man. Easily the best version of this game I ever played. And this is the most upgraded version in terms of overall gameplay since MLB 12.

My hope is for 18 they really iron out some of the AI deficiencies in terms of starting lineup and bullpen decisions when injuries occur. Of course I can fix all of that nonsense in 30 team control (which I do) but it would be nice to not have to worry so much about it.
