Re: MLB The Show 17 Q&A

Does the time it takes for the pitcher to get the ball home actually matter when it comes to stealing bases? Or is it just based on stealing rating

I'm completely new to the show. Jus got a ps4. My question is with pure analog throwing. What determines a green? I can hold the stick the same amount of time. One time I will get green the next time I will get yellow, pulling my first baseman off the bag. Thanks

Anyone know? Going to start soon and don't want to waste my time if it doesn't work that way. Thanks!

For the first question, the green bar in the pitcher select and lineup screen before the game is their fatigue. The less green you see, the more fatigued they are. There are also in game fatigue levels for pitchers. Green is fatigue, blue is confidence. The green bar will turn yellow this year as a pitcher starts to tire.

Second question: no, there is no in game mechanic to change a player's position. You have to manually edit a player in order to change their position. Many of us do it. I really wish there was a way that didn't feel like cheating.

Thanks for answering the second. When OOTP added learnable positions, it was awesome.

For the first question, how do we view position player fatigue in-game? I know it appears before, but where do I see it during?

That's something I would like to know as well. And what about out of the game is there anyway to see energy levels?

Franchise Missions - Is there anything other than the starter Missions. I completed all of those and now have nothing left, but it appears there should be more.

In Road to the Show, I don't know how to get the pitcher to show the location of the pitch. Usually, the catcher will show the pitcher the pitch and location. I still have the catcher suggesting the pitch, but not the location. Can someone help? Is it a Road to the Show thing? I'm a closer by the way.

Turn API on in the pitching/advanced tab of gameplay settings. It is more than likely set to default (or off). Also, make sure the profile you do this on is your "default" profile - go to save changes in the options and select "use as default" after you make that change.

If API is on default you can also press R2 pre-pitch to get the highlighted pitch and location call.

The "why" of this happening is a little complicated. It's not a bug, although it probably is an unintended consequence of the way RTTS works.

                      Quick question

I started my franchise, mets, NL east, and when i went to opening day, DH's are in the lineup...is there a click to make it so dh's are only in AL ball parks? Please tell me I don't have to redo my franchise from scratch...any help is appreciated

Got a notification that a patch will be installed from 3-5pm PT. Any word on what that will include?

Where'd you see that? I don't see anything about a patch in announcements...

Had a small box in the upper left corner pop up when I was playing earlier with that notification.

Hopefully it will fix the CPU starting pitching.

I'm not too worried about it but I was playing this morning and I was the Red Sox at Fenway and they hit one off the Monster and my LF did not move at all. The CF had to go get the ball. Just thought that was weird.

Oh, okay. I also saw the thread started about this after seeing your post, except the thread starter's saying it's supposed to be 3 AM pacific, not PM. AM would make more sense since there's less people playing (or attempting to play, as it were).
