I'm fairly certain you don't "need" online to start a franchise, I just recommend it, because there's no downside.

The only thing you would be missing out on would be the post-game rewards. I'm not sure how that would handle. Either it would try to connect to the server, and fail, and take up a lot of time, or lock up; or it would recognize you are offline, and just skip past it without a hitch. Really hoping someone else who plays offline gets to you on this to confirm this information.

Only way I could really check for certain, I think, is if I made a new account, disconnected from the internet, and tried to do those things (which I could do, it would just be a drag to go through making a new PSN account tonight haha, sorry).

No worries man. I appreciate your input. I just ordered the game from Amazon and will have it tomorrow.

I can turn on my mobile Hotspot if need be.

When you trade someone mid-year, is their salary then pro-rated onto the new team or is it still the full year salary?

If you trade someone, their contract is taken on by the new team. So if you move Matt Wieters, and he makes 10 million a year, and it's half the season left, whoever you traded him to is on the hook for the remaining 5 million he's owed in salary, plus any other years he has left.

You're only responsible for the salaries of whoever you acquired for him.

I only use Dynamic when I'm hitting. For fielding I use Medium, used it for years and it's what I'm used to.

Was easy to switch on offense because when the ball is hit, all I have to do is run, lol. Or trot, depending on how far it went.

Hello all: really excited noob questions here - will you teach me how to edit free agents in Show '17? The roster screen seems to only allow me to scroll between teams. I want to make a team of all / mostly all created players and take them into franchise mode.

Also, is there a way to assign a player directly to a team from the Create A Player interface? If not, how do I sign players outside of franchise?

I have the game. Why did they remove the interview with the player of the game? Why don't the grounds crew come out during the game? Are the Captains gone? I can't seem to find them but it could be due to the new look. Is there a list of things they removed from 16? Is it just me or does the outstanding intro have low sound? I haven't gotten to play too much(Zelda BOTW is taking up my time) but I did manage to play a game against the CPU on All-Star in DD and I really liked it. I noticed the XP isn't as much after every half inning during the game which is a bummer. I so wish we could import our team uniforms from 16. I am dreading doing it all over again.

Just walked off a game and got the post game interview thing. The player being interviewed also got a Gatorade bath. So they actually enhanced it.

It's random, as far as I can tell. Sometimes it just cuts to stadium shots with Matt summarizing the game. For editing posts, there is an Edit button in the corner of the post. If you're on the mobile app, just tap the post and an edit option will pop up.

In DD can you not see if your opponent is pitching a righty/lefty? I'm just playing Conquest atm but it doesn't show me till after my lineup is set.

How do you enable the new catching meter to throw out runners? I still have the same way as previous editions which is to press the base where you want to throw. I will also say that so far I have just played in the play live or play now mode. I have not started a season or franchise yet. Much appreciated.

It's part of Button Accuracy. Only appears when using that throw interface.

I'm into July and no training sessions as were in the previous RTTS modes. I'm assuming it has been nixed in favor or replaced by the "real time" banter between manager, agent, etc and the player. However, replaced would not be an accurate word since there is no (at least I haven't seen it yet) training points to be earned in those cut scenes or anywhere else that I can see. It does say that my player's training was "recent" on my dashboard but I think they are referring to my using points that I earned in-game to upgrade my player. I for one will miss the training sessions.

Ok then why have a trophy/achievement for entering a training session if it's not available

In RTTS, do the cutscenes/documentary scenes happen when you go directly to the next game instead of back to the clubhouse? Asking because so far I've only seen them when I go back to the clubhouse so I'm wondering if I need to do that after every game..
