Re: What is your "White Whale" in the Show?

I've never thrown a no hitter. I once lost a perfect game with Ryan Dempster with two outs in the ninth on a sharply hit ground ball to third that the 3B didn't really try for.

I did manage to finish an entire season the first year they had quick counts. Won the Central with the best record in baseball as the Cubs and promptly lost the division series 3-1 to a Padres team I couldn't hit all season.

Hitting back to back to back to back homeruns in the bottom of the 9th for a 5-4 win in a DD online game. My cp hitting the walk off was the cherry on top of the icing. Love comebacks in the 9th when down big so this was an achievement.

My major job that i have never accomplished is a World Series title. I play MOM and want to win managing and not because Im good on the sticks. Ive played the Show since 2006 and have never won a championship. I did make it to game 7 of the ALCS a couple years back but lost to the Angels. I always play as the Rangers so mabe 2016 will be the year. I usually get 3 maybe 4 season in for each Show interation

          Hitting for the cycle

          A walk off anything

Back pick a runner on first

          Perfect game

Hitting a home run with a pitcher

Any of those would make me happy.

One of mine is to turn a triple play. I thought i was going to do it with my 3b rtts guy yesterday. 0 outs guys on 1st qnd 2nd. Plan was to tag the guy coming from 2nd then get the throw to 2nd and let them finish it.

Anyway ball comes to me, i have do something stupid and my guy runs away from where he should be, i panic go to throw to 2nd as there is still a chance for 2 or even just get the guy at 2nd. I put the ball 5 foot above the 2b head. Ball goes into outfield. 1 tun scores. Runners now on 2nd and 3rd. Leads to a 6 run inning.

So yeah still looking to turn a triple play.

Up until recently it was stealing home. I pulled it off with runners on 1st and 3rd. My bro kept trying to pick off Billy Burns at first and I sent Coco from 3rd!

2 out of my last 4 games in my Cardinals fantasy franchise I just missed hitting for the cycle...both by Maikel Franco.

In one game he was a HR short (amazingly hit a triple off the wall that took a gracious crazy roll sideways) and a triple short yesterday.

                OOOF!!!!

                So damn close.

Re: What is your "White Whale" in the Show?

Man, I'm not even stressed about a perfect game, yet. I just want to complete a no-hitter!! I've thrown a total of nine no-hitters/perfect games on older games like "Bases Loaded II: Second Season" on the NES, (four perfect games), "World Series Baseball '95" on the Sega Genesis (a no-hitter), "Triple Play '97" on the Sega Genesis (two perfect games) and, "MLB 2K5" on the PS2 (a no-hitter and a perfect game, each).

I've come close to no-nos and perfect games a few times in RTTS and Franchise mode with several "The Show" iterations, but have gone on to lose the bid in the 7th, 8th or 9th.

I'm still playing '14 with a fictional roster set on the PS3, but I have a great pitching staff this season that's doing lights-out.

I've done the walk-off grand slam, which was awesome, and I've played a full 162 game season on '14. That's the Franchise I'm currently playing with and we're 1/3 of the way through the second season, which I also plan to complete.

Now I will be honest, though . . . I only pitch full games with the #1 and the #5 starter (my ace and my up-and-coming ace, who I've named and made to look just like me) and I simulate the pitching for the other three starters until inning 7. If it's a tight game within four runs, I take over the pitching so that I can still feel like I "earned" the win/loss. If it's a blowout either way, then I let the CPU finish out the pitching. I do every single at-bat with the hitters, though.

I've also yet to hit for the cycle, and I've come within two pitches of an "immaculate" inning. That's harder than it sounds!! Mainly because you'll get a pitch that you've done everything right with and it sails out of the zone for ball one when you're up 0-1 on the third hitter of the inning a lot.

I lost the World Series in seven games last season, too. That was heartbreaking. But I'd still take a no-no right now over a WS Title.

Yeah, there's still a lot I want to do with this series, which is why I love it so much!

                    Fun thread to read...

The no-hitter too has eluded me. The one and only time that a no-hitter was within my grasp was blown. With Yordano Ventura I had two outs in the 9th, I called everyone into the den to watch the final out; ground ball to the shortstop, I jump up in triumph, then went "CRAP!", I celebrated before throwing the ball, the runner beat the throw by a step for a hit. Haven't even come close since.

Perfect games were pretty easy on WS Baseball 95. Put a changeup in the upper left corner and the computer would take all 81 strikes, lol.

Just came so very close to pitching my first perfect game with Noah Syddergaard in my Giants fantasy draft franchise.

Got the fisrt 26 out. Had number 27 down 0-2. He hits a ground ball straight at Gallo a third base and it hops straight over his glove. I was hoping it would be charged an error but no base it. I couldn't believe it lol

#1 is definitely a perfect game. I threw a no hitter (one walk) with Jesse Hahn in '15. #2 I crossed off my list this year when I hit for the cycle with Josh Reddick
