Yeah, the more I look at it I did shoot for the moon a bit. I wrote this from a weeks worth of notes off my legal pad and needed to get it is some kind of workable format.

Focusing on LAD and CHC, I can remove Y.Alvarez and I.Happ respectively unless swapping A.J.Ramos with K.Barraclough moves the needle enough to keep the original packages (I can always sell Ramos at the deadline as he's legit and has 1.5 yrs of control left). If not, I'd like to add another small piece (better from CHC, average from LAD). This will make CHC scary (as if they weren't already) and fills a need while just making LAD better and deeper in the bullpen.

is anyone making a spread sheet again? I remember a few shows ago someone had every player listed and what type of level player you should get in return.

I think the road block in the Chicago deal is them losing Baez and Happ. It's likely they'd want to make sure they have Zobrist's replacement. Otherwise, I feel like Chicago has the guaranteed years in their current team to take a "gamble the farm" kind of risk. Gamecock knows better than I though.

I've been working on a spreadsheet involving trades that were approved in this thread. Not exactly what you're looking for but it's a start.

Has anyone noticed issues with the "Force Trade"?

I tried putting it on in my Franchise, but it's so far just giving me no trades. Even if the bar at the bottom is even, or slightly in their favor, I get "That's an Interesting Offer, but it's not what we're looking for at this time".

          It's very odd.

From the Cubs perspective, I would say no to that current deal. I don't see why they would want an outfield of Schwarber, Almora, Heyward, and Stanton. Stanton is an upgrade obviously but it would be very crowded. You could add one of Schwarber/Almora and adjust the deal accordingly. I couldn't see Schwarber being involved in this deal though. You could also just take Heyward back in the deal.

Depending on a reworked deal I could see or not see Happ still being involved.

Another point is if Heyward and Stanton don't opt out of their current contracts, the Cubs will be looking at the biggest budget in baseball (granted they still might be) when they have to resign some/all of their young players.

Just some quick thoughts from a Cub fans perspective.

Good point. Even if I were to swap Biaz/Almora, the CHC payroll shoots through the roof and you guys are either going to pay Jake or buy an arm next season so that needs to be accounted for.

So after all this, the LAD trade looks like the best option. Stanton goes back to his home state (in my game it says he wants to play closer to home...really? or is that just random?) and gets to make it a 7 inning game with Ramos/Jansen on the back end. I get a dynamic talent that helps me sell tickets for the next year and a half, a good arm and their best prospect...along with a kid I'd like to see develop but would have to play 5 seasons to see the payoff (haven't even checked to see if he made the OS rosters...oh well).

              Final package for review:

MIA - G.Stanton/A.Ramos (no room for Suzuki, plus no value anyway)
              LAD - Y.Puig/R.Stripling/C.Bellinger/S.Heredia

I still think I deserve a mid/high C AA farm hand (SP/RP) but I'll wait for the final blessing from you guys as I'm selling not buying.

If you'd take on a contract, say Eithier or McCarthy I think it would help. I know the Dodgers are made of money but it should have the Marlins taking on some more cash.

                MIA: Stanton & Ramos
LAD: Puig, Bellinger, Stripling, McCarthy and maybe one more minor league arm

Done with McCarthy and a PTBNL. I'll make sure he won't be missed by LAD (a cup of coffee guy at best, most likely a career minor league arm). I can use McCarthy to fill a rotation hole and if Heredia made the roster and starts to develop, I'll come back for him in a year or two.

Thanks for all the feedback today guys. This is the only major deal I plan to make, no fire sale. We'll make the playoffs by '19 or my name isn't...well, umm, HampshireStags.

On the Stanton subject, does Stanton to the Yanks for Sheffield, Torres, and Tyler Austin make any sense? Yankees are contending in my franchise btw.

PED issues aside, Gordon is a very good player on a very good contract. Unlike what I'm going to say below, this could be a fit for NYY with something around J.Mateo though we'll have to find something to do with S.Castro. Who needs him in your franchise?

Short answer is no. Without taking on J.Ellsbury contract (which almost defeats the purpose of moving Stanton), NYY will have 50+mm wrapped up in 2 OF's.

As you can tell from yesterday's conversation, finding a good landing spot for Stanton is a trick. I put some effort into it with all 30 clubs and will admit there are probably a few scenarios I didn't think of, there really aren't many clubs that could make it work and still return anything close to the value Stanton deserves. I think we have a decent one in LAD but I also had to take on 11mm next year and add a legit closer to make it happen. I don't know what you're trying to accomplish with your franchise but I'm happy with that deal. Use it as a framework as you shop him around.

                          Selling your block...

                          P. Goldschmidt will comp to the A.Gonzalez trade to BOS (C.Kelly/A.Rizzo/really good prospect/a guy). Kelly was super-hyped at the time and Rizzo was on the uptick somewhere in the 2nd half of the top 100.

A.Pollock should comp to a A.Eaton type of trade keeping in mind that the general consensus is that the Nats overpaid.

Z.Greinke is where I.Happ may come in. Maybe this is a scenario we could talk about Heyward and Happ for Greinke and a piece but I would have to look at it some more. The Cubs are going to need to get themselves an arm or two next year but are they going to raid the farm and go young or buy some guys for a couple years and develop (or both?). Just like we did with Stanton yesterday, that contract is not "unmovable" but will require more coffee than I have in me presently. I'm 'working from home' today so I'll take a look. It will help for later in the season as well.

Looking to see what a trade moving Taillon would look like. Probably not the most realistic at the current time, but I find his pitching release to be glitchy, just can't used to it.

Very early in the season so selling/buying is not really in the equation i am open to all suggestions.

Sox Franchise. Swihart is killing it and I think I am gonna go with him as catcher moving forward. What is realistic return for Vazquez? Would probably wanna use him to replenish farm system if possible. Thanks and love the thread!
