I'm ok with paying for Betances, especially since I'll be going hard after Miller after 2018. In a perfect world, I'd be adding a young controllable starter, and I will admit, the Joe Ross fan in me knows the Nationals need someone like Chapman and boy would I be happy to do that.

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
So I like the possibility of trading donaldson to the mets for a package headlined by Rosario but want to look at the Cards also as a trading partner. What is Reyes's value like now after the TJ and also would they be willing to move Carson Kelley in the package because he is blocked by Yadi. Would something around Reyes+Kelly be possible or is that asking for too much. ThanksComment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
White Sox still haven't gone over their allotment for this signing period. They need more impact position players in their system and they have the Cuban connection with Abreu and Moncada. Reds, Cardinals and Padres are also rumored to have most interest but the Padres are already over their allotment so much, how high of a bidding can they go into with a 100% tax?Comment

I have him downloaded from the vault and he could potentially be in the OSFM set. But he is definitely in the vault.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
The only teams that cannot sign him are the Cubs, Dodgers, Giants, or Royals because they are in the penalty and can't sign any international amateur player for more than $300,000.
Also, for anyone wondering: There isn't a limit on what Robert could be paid because the new CBA doesn't go into effect until June 15th. That new CBA includes a hard cap on international signings. Robert can make as much as anyone is willing to pay him."Baseball is the coolest sport because, at any moment, the catcher can stop the game and go tell the pitcher a secret" - Rob FeeComment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Alright boys here is my situation for the Cubs in my franchise;
The Cubs are sitting 9-5 after 14 games despite some unlucky injuries. For example, Brett Anderson just fractured his head after taking a linedrive off the dome piece.
Now I know if they can't find a deal they could move Mike Montgomery who is currently their long reliever to become the 5th starter, but I do think I found a guy the Cubs could go after.
The Padres are currently 1-14, and if we're being honest it will be a miracle if they don't lose 100 games this season.
This is the trade I was thinking about pulling the trigger on;
Cubs get:
SP Trevor Cahill(73, POT C) - 0-2, 15.2 IP, 3.45 ERA, 0.96 WHIP - 1yr/1.7M
4th Man In the Rotation, 71 ADJ OVR
Padres get:
SP Rob Zastryzny (56. POT C) | AA Stats: 0-1, 15.2 IP, 1.72 ERA, 1.21 WHIP
Age 25
SP Duane Underwood (50, POT C) | AA Stats: 1-0, 13.0 IP, 5.54 ERA, 1.92 WHIP
Age 22
Not too familiar with the Cubs system besides the top up and coming guys. Is this a fair trade? Is Cahill worth more? Anybody I should swap in and out for this to work? Thanks fellasComment

Cahill was on the team last year but not on the playoff roster. (If he was he made 0 appearances). Is this move still realistic? Or is there another Friar who could be shipped to Chicago?

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
I don't think you could get Ross, Robles or Turner for Chapman. The Nats could have just paid him if they wanted him that bad. You'll have to lower your expectations a bit
