I believe so. I've played HOF so long now I'm not 100% sure what it changes.

But I would honestly start with contact slider to try and reduce the amount of sweet spot contact in an effort to reduce HRs, if I had the problem.

I would try it first for 10 games and see what happens.

Smaller PCI, tighter timing window, etc. CPU pitchers live on the black more than lower levels, etc.

NP. I had a long conversation with Kolbe offline one day a couple of years ago about the various skill levels.

The thing that stood out to me was pitchers working the black and the edges of the strikezone more often.

Well. My team had 21 HR after 7 games on AS level.
I reduced human contact and power to 4.
Only 1 HR and 2 runs in the last 2 games combined.

Contact may be the most important slider.
I will test some more games with a reduced contact and default power.

I'm trying this myself right now. Wow, what a difference. PCI against Kershaw for a normal hitter is as small as a pitcher's on normal HOF. That in itself is definitely going to make squaring up more difficult.

I don't remember that slider having a visual effect on the PCI in previous years...am I wrong?

interesting...i tested the slider at 10 and zero and saw no difference...

Yeah, there's a difference, and a big one. But if you're changing it mid-game you have to let the pitch sequence reset between pitches before the slider change takes effect.

Schwarber, same pitcher, HOF. All I did was restart the game and fast forward the top half of the inning.

                    Contact = 10

                    And Contact = 0

Nothing else can be affecting that. Schwarber's only quirk is "Walker". The pitcher Snell has none.

                      I LOVE the homeruns.

I played a homerun derby NO one homerun was ever the same...
                      Its awesome. arcedae heaven honestly.

The only thing is "sim" Sim its not but it IS fun. I adjust sliders for power to 10.

No need to adjust sliders. On All Star you can hit like this:

I wouldn't think of DD as a simulation-oriented mode, but that's for another discussion... but the video is interesting, as the PCI seems to be awfully large for those players on All-star.

Are you sure the difficulty is on All-star?

I'm just trying to see if something funny (unintended difficulty/game physics change) is happening somewhere...

100% sure. As i stated in many other threads the PCI this year on All Star difficult is really big, especially if you compare it with MLB 16. It makes sense if you think how devs are trying to open up the gates for newcomers and DD players. There's nothing wrong with that, really. But they're doing it in the wrong way ( really easy to hit online, more offense, more runs, more doubles and HR's ). Now, while a DD game is not intended to be a simulation, as far as i can tell it uses the same "mechanics" of every other game mode.
As a funny note, check this. It's the devs tournament live stream. At one point one of them ask: "Why the PCI is so massive ?". And the other one show him the All Star setting. It's at 2:17:40

No, and I likely won't for a while (especially because I'll be setting the game aside for a new release tonight). It's definitely having an effect on my ability to make solid contact, but I can still hit the ball out of the ballpark too. I think there's an answer in there somewhere, but it'll take time to figure it out (and that's just for my own skill level, not even trying to consider anyone else's)

It doesn't seem to have a whole lot of impact on the CPU's ability to barrel, though. I saw one of the more absurd HR's I've seen this year with contact = 3 just now:

27 power Nori Aoki, folks. 11 mph tailwind too, but that still shouldn't be possible.
