Why should he be gaining them? Because you said so? Freddie Freeman doesn't go out and hit .350 for a month and get better because of it. He also doesn't go .220 for 7 weeks and get worse because of it. I've never understood why people thought stay based progression was realistic. Obviously Santana is losing skill with age, but still producing for you. He might lose a few mph off of his fastball, he may not have the break he used to have when he was younger, but he's still producing. That sounds like real life. Their skills should progress and regress in a natural curve that has most playing at their best when 27-31 while others skyrocket in skill younger, some are late bloomers, some never pan out, some fall off a cliff randomly. Real life is unpredictable. I would like the Show to represent that.

I agree that players should get better as they get older due to experience and/or training/pratice, but if they aren't producing, they are going to be replaced by someone who is.
I'm not saying that stats should be sole determining factor, but it certainly has to be part of the equation in evaluating a player's talent.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

They need to add more detail outside the stadium. This might be really hard to do but it really takes away from the realism when there's a black background or the surrounding are looks bad.

Re: MLB the Show 18 Wishlist: PLUS Things they should PATCH for MLB 17
I'm not talking about a month. I'm talking about half a season of being arguably the best pitcher in the league. There's no reason he should be losing stats at age 34 if he's still pitching well. I understand with age every player will start declining. But to answer your question yes if Freddie Freeman hit .350 for half a season yes I would expect him to have better hitting stats then at the beginning of the season. And if he was slumping for that long yes his stats should go down for sure. That's how players could theoretically play into their early 40's. Also how some prospects never pan out. If they never get their feet under them, they should, never have the stats to really compete.

I can see things such as stamina, velocity, and break declining due to age.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Also I just looked at Joe Mauer, who has been beyond atrocious this year. He is losing stats across the board as well and is a year younger than Santana. As he is batting .151 with 1HR at the All-Star Break, I get why he is declining. In fact I feel like he should be declining more.

Funny thing every attribute except velocity and break are declining. Including overall and potential. I get arm strength, I get stamina... I would understand velocity and break. But his per 9s should all be increasing at least.

Re: MLB the Show 18 Wishlist: PLUS Things they should PATCH for MLB 17
1. Baggy uniforms
2. Early helmets that were flat on the bottom.
3. Gloves from the 40s 50s and 60s.
4. It's important to make the gloves and Equipment look broken in. Faded colors for catchers chest protectors etc.
5. Customized coaches and managers including their names faces body style.
6. Offer more names first last middle. I would love to be able to hear the announcers say Stan the Man Musial.
7. To be able to Interchange players on roster and franchise.
8. I was able to transport created players from 16 to 17 hope it's a simple process and it continues in 18 The Show.
9. Adjustable baggy sleeves starting at the wrist all the way up.
10. I have a problem with the low cut stirrups this year the white in the front is covered up by the shoe add a few inches to the white in the front it's too short. Thank you

Re: MLB the Show 18 Wishlist: PLUS Things they should PATCH for MLB 17
1. Rainouts/Rain Delays/Doubleheaders - adds a realm of realism to franchise modes and could affect stamina over the period of a few days.
2. Durability Attribute - I think someone mentioned this, but split this into two seperate catagories 'injury risk' and 'fatiuge'. Again, makes managing the game a bit more tricky.
3. Custom Stadiums/Relocation - See NBA 2K17. You guys have the firepower
4. Control Players After 3rd Out - Would be cool to be able to toss a ball into the stands after catching a pop fly or chuck it over the dugout to a fan. Dribble it back to the pitchers mound after a ground out. Would feel AWESOME to do this.
5. Catcher Talk to the Pitcher - Instead of a mound visit, the catcher could go and calm down the pitcher instead of the PC.
Saw somewhere on here where someone said the catcher going out to the mound already happens but I've never seen it.Comment

Re: MLB the Show 18 Wishlist: PLUS Things they should PATCH for MLB 17
2k just came out with a feature that determines the frequency with which players wear certain accessories. This would be HUGE for the graphical/presentation aspect of the show. We all know that players wear certain things home/away, during hot/cold streaks. Accessory frequency could be a great way to replicate the home/away accessories without devoting too much memory to dedicated home/away slotsUniversity of Southern California '19

Re: MLB the Show 18 Wishlist: PLUS Things they should PATCH for MLB 17
Don't know if these things have been mentioned before as I am new to this thread, but I would like to see:
1) HS Prospects Showcase events where you can play with and scout upcoming prospects before the draft.
2) A rewards system in the form of stubs for stellar scouting of players similar to finding "gems or diamonds in the rough" like NCAA Football 14 series had.
3) GM experience expand to deal with real world issues such as disgruntled players. You would have the option of spending stubs to convince players to resign with you or to lure them to you throughout the season and free agency.
4) GM or Coaching press conferences similar to 2K basketball series. Your answers could impact the performance and psyches of your players.
5) The ability use a Draft Board Cue to rank your prospects so that you can adjust and monitor the list throughout the season based on their performance.
6) The ability to identify 5 top prospects (HS or College)...colleges can be fictional if NCAA licenses cannot be obtained. You will have the ability to play up to 5 games with these players to measure their skills. You would also get updated stats on all prospects throughout the season.Comment
