2K18 and The Show 17 have been the absolute pinnacle of console sports gaming for me.

They both put EA sports to shame.

Those guys simply get it when it comes to the offline single player experience.

I am also with you about player depth on The Show. Let's hope we continue to see the player personalities improved and expanded. Quirks was a start. But I know we want more!!!

If - for both games - you could somehow combine MLB The Show's realistic gameplay with the TV-style presentation, in-game player personality/emotion and MyLeague/GM of the 2K series that would be the perfect sports game.

They do a great job at that, but I would love to see them branch out into the online franchise modes with this type of stuff, I feel like these are a big thing when it comes to sports gaming now a days.

This is what will bring franchise modes into the forefront again. Playing online against others at any time you want (randomly) is great, but the one thing franchise will be able to offer that DD won't is the conectivity to a living, breathing league where you're learning your division rival's tendencies, etc.

Also, franchise mode can avoid the watering down of having a league full of Trout in CF and Kershaw or some 99 ovr legend starting every other game.

I will tell you what I would absolutely love for Diamond Dynasty.

The ability to set-up DD leagues with friends and commissioner tools to set card type limitations.

1-2 diamonds

3-4 golds

You get where I am going. Then making leagues would be great.

On 17 we had an awesome card draft with 10 owners. The problem was the connectivity and quality of online gameplay for 17 was really bad. It took 5 steps back from 15 and 16.

Hopefully online will be greatly improved. Because it plays like two different game IMO. Offline...buttery smooth. Online? Meh.

Agreed! Offline is so smooth. I like those limitation rules, and would even love to "prevent duplicates" so that when you look at stats, you don't see 6 Dee Gordon's leading in SB.

I’m mostly into franchise and RTTS and I had the thought about an online portion for RTTS. Like...say your online friends are playing the mode and they just happen to pitch against you in a AA game. Or you could do the showcase together and then get drafted by whichever teams.

Im an XBOX owner, but still come to this thread because I'm a huge baseball fan and want to see what's up. I might be enticed to buy a PS4 like I was a PS3 just for this game if these items were in:


Rotating interleague schedules
Adjustable divisions/relocation expansion etc
weather effects, Rain delays and retractable roofs

Couldn't have said this any better, the connectivity and just game planning around a rival make the game that much more exciting. I hope they have something in store for us this year.

We have retractable roofs.

Believe me, friend, I would like too, but my wallet screams "no!!!"


What I meant by retractable roofs is to have the roof be open at game time and then close later, not simply having two different stadium models. Weather effects would play a big role in that, with rain stopping and starting etc.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the teams do an either/or thing with the roof open. They'll leave it open if the weather is nice and clear, but close it if there's any chance of it getting bad before they start. Are they allowed to close it during a game?

They close during games. Typically teams try and get out in front of weather but yes they do close during games. Source: Many mariners games where they took a 20 minute rain delay to close the roof.

oh ya they close during a game, i have seen this first hand while at a Blue Jays game.

I really hope/think it is rotating interleague schedules. I know the last two cycles they were really transparent on why it didn’t get in, and it was not for a lack of effort.
