Just my opinion but really wouldnt consider any of these things ground breaking since there are other issues that still plague The Show
Still a 1st day purchase for me regardless

They may not be ground breaking, but I'm intrigued to see how hitting has been changed.

And if the changes to the server infrastructure results in less problems online, then a lot of people are going to be happy.

And given one of the biggest gameplay complaints last year was passed balls/wild pitches and how catchers reacted and threw the ball to the bases when picking up a pitch in the dirt, I would say those two additions/changes/fixes are going to be well received by the community if they result in better gameplay.

And this is just information we learned from the single Aaron Judge photo and the closed alpha stream and feedback stream.

I'm sure there is more to come.

I could care less about videos. I will never watch one. Really, really hoping that we get writeups and bullet point lists this year. Trying to wade through other gamer's impressions of the videos to garner any information last year was maddening. Not going to try this time around.

We know a little more than that:

* Server infrastructure has been changed
* Hitting has been changed
* Over 1000 new animations added
* New catcher animations/interactions for passed/blocked balls at the plate
* New PCI
* New Swing feedback
* Catcher throwing has been changed/improved
* New ads in stadiums (Nike ad seen in Judge photo)
* New bat flips have been added

Do we really know the bold things? Or do we just know these were being tested at some point?

The 1000+ new animations and new catcher animations and catcher throwing and bat flips are all part of the same thing, imo. Animations.

I think this list will legit get a lot longer on Monday though.

Animations or not if the new catcher changes improve the wild pitch/passed ball issue then that is a good thing. Same with catcher lobbing throws to the bases.

I'm sure there will be a grab bag of things they updated, but I think the defining factor about how well this game is received will be: (1) how much love did franchise mode get? and (2) how robust is online play? If the answers to those questions are: (1) a lot and (2) yes, then it should be a hit. If the game looks a little prettier also, that would only help matters.

The xx more animations and xx more brands stuff is nice as ancillary features, but a bit hollow if sold as the headlining features.
