    Yes, you can.

He said in the IGN video, there are two ways to boost power ratings. Hit doubles, triples, & HR's (Normal Swing), or, get a hit using Power Swing.

He hit a HR with Normal Swing and it went up, and he commented on it.

Keep in mind for playing RTTS if you normally play on all star default, you're technically playing on veteran for AA in that mode as the difficulty level changes depending on which level you're at. I think dynamic difficulty actually works the best for RTTS in theory.

Yet, RTTS was/is the most played mode year after year so plenty of people did enjoy it. The question will be how those players, many of whom probably never watch a preview stream or video will embrace the changes.

I have said for years that I don't think your average RTTS payer wants anything more than to have fun being a superstar on their favorite team.

So until we actually play the game, we are not going to see if you have to buy stuff, with stubs or $, or can earn it totally thru play.
I feel like we're both missing each others point a bit tbh! I have no objection to needing to buy or luckily get equipment reward drops to get my player to his maximum potential, nor do I think you'll need to spend real money to get them, I'm mainly objecting to them making a big deal about removing micro transactions. As from what I can see, they haven't changed it on that front at all, they've simply changed the thing you can to spend stubs on for your RTTS player. (and if anything, made the things you can use stubs for more important)

If they changed the system to one where you unlocked the better equipment through signing sponsorship deals in the game, that would remove the stubs (and therefore micro transaction) element from RTTS completely. (and it would be insanely cool, opening up all kinds of new options where some sponsors give you better bats but less good gloves, so again tough choices would be needed)

Great news. I'll have to watch this one after the stream - right now that has my FULL attention.

Definitely worth the watch. Ramone gives a wealth on info!

Even mentions, "If something looks off, let them know. If they hear nothing, they think they did their job. They are trying to emulate a real life sport."

              Constructive Criticism.

Yeah this is a great point. I like these new changes but I almost think having the option to become Kershaw or Trout should still be there.

I've read your last few posts on this and agree completely. There's no way they would remove the revenue stream they implemented from using stubs to buy attribute points as in 2017. So instead, they simply "changed" the actual tool you're purchasing, from attribute points to certain equipment that you would need to max out your player.

So while it is possible to max out your player without actually spending real money and just playing a lot and earning stubs to purchase equipment upgrades, the revenue stream still exists in that many people are going to simply spend the money to purchase the stubs to get those upgrades rather than earning them. The revenue stream still exists, so by them "bragging" about removing microtransactions, that isn't entirely accurate nor representative of the game. It's a way of throwing shade on the fact that is still exists.

Micro transactions exist only if you buy them. For those that want to “earn” stubs via simply playing the game and getting in game rewards and packs and buying packs with stubs earned to land equipment or use stubs earned from playing the game and purchasing equipment in the market place.

You have choices. Pay for stubs with your money (micro transactions) or don’t.

Even with equipment you will not max a player out totally. But you can get them to a very high elite, superstar rating.

I really think many are jumping the gun thinking just because you don’t have all 99’s you will never be a superstar. You will be if you play really well and also put some good equipment on your player which you will earn on your own from either in game rewards, earning stubs and buying packs or buying equipment with stubs earned.

It seems there is always going to be those that want a realistic progression system, which is the direction they are going in. And those who want to be able to max the player out.

Oh well.....they (SDS) can't ever win.

I think that people who think there will be no superstars are really underselling this, totally agree. On the Twitch Stream they showed some of the other arch-types off. They have 80 contact / 99 power for some of the corner OF'ers. 99 contact, 70 power, 75 speed for CF'ers. You don't even need to add equipment to that and you've got some pretty monster guys if you just max-level out their max-cap. If you add any equipment, even just, say 8-10 power to the 99c/70p/75s guy, you've got someone who's hitting .330 with 30 HR's and 25-30 bags with excellent defense. That's a perennial all-star. That's a sure superstar.

Really all that's limited here is the catcher who hits 60 bombs and steals 60 bags. Which, I do think they probably should have allowed the option in the game for those who wanted it. But conversely, you can easily still make a superstar.

                            @Woodweaver,

Curious to hear your perspective on how a 9 inning game plays out when the defensive option is set to (None) in regards to playing defense. Playing all 9 innings, all pitches and all CPU at bats with the Game Watch Feature selected.

Does the game default to random play and still involve your position in my case SS or does it just skip any possible defensive opportunities throughout the full 9 inning game?

                            Thanks!

                              Hi Woodweaver,

Any chance you guys brought back the option to play all fielding results? Basically play out all balls that are put in play without having to see the full count; resulting in a fielded play (by you or a teammate), strikeout, walk, homer run, etc.

This option was in before MLBTS17. Was disappointed to see it removed.

Side note: will those new MLBTS sweaters be available for purchase? They are [emoji91] [emoji91]

It just opened up another part of the game for them. At least that is how I see it.
