Re: MLB The Show 18 The Little Things
I really have to take a second to appreciate the work of the devs with the inclusion of the emotions. I love what they have done in this area. It brings the game to life. I just wish the facial grimaces that the player models make when viewing the main menu customization. It freaks me out to see that face they make.
Bravo to the commentary also. I really like what I've heard this year from Matty V and talking about Cameron Maybin for a few seconds. They don't interrupt the commentary either unless it's a huge play that is happeningComment

Lol I noticed this too and it kinda bummed me out. Even though it’s not really a ‘little’ thing and more of a ‘minuscule’ thing haha.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 18 The Little Things
My buddy wore 3 different #'s in the same year for the Ft Wayne Wizards back in the mid 90's. When I asked him why he told me that when a guy with more minor league time wants your # its theirs, no questions asked.
So again it literally not the most unrealistic thing they could have done. lolND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 18 The Little Things
If you want a good laugh play a game with the Rays and put Robertson in the lineup. His homerun trot is absolutely hilarious. If this really ocurred his next at bat he would get plunked in the head.
IN fact, baseball would institute a celebration penalty if this really went down.
I'll have to record this video next time.
I'm sure other players have some spectacular celebrations.
Which is funny and frustrating because some of the little things they left out like pitch counts and game details when selecting fast forward. Hard to understand why they left this code out.
Also, I do have to say it appears to be harder to hit homeruns in 18. The high fastball in the zone with a power swing mostly produces pop ups.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 18 The Little Things
I hit a HR with Tyler Goeddle in my Reds season.
I just called him up about 3 or 4 games ago.
Anyway he hit a HR last night and sprinted around the bases.
I mean dude was in a dead sprint all the way around the bases.
It totally cracked me up!ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

CPU actually 1st - to 3rd'd me on an infield grounder during a practice session (on a hit and run, which means the runner is in full sprint and it's probably the only way it even attempts this). I didn't even know it was capable of that - it's a move that's typically only limited to head to head multiplayer!
That's one less house rule to worry about...Comment

Re: MLB The Show 18 The Little Things
I bumped up Bartolo Colon to all 99's, gave him a fat sweet 10 year 310 million dollar deal. Then at the end of the year I kept bumping his attributes back to 99's after they regressed during the season. The little thing is that he didnt retire at 45 years old, he played until he was 49 and got 300 wins. I'm pretty sure if I had kept bumping his attributes he would have honored his contract until he was 54, then retired. The funny thing was 300 wins didnt get him into the Hall.OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: MLB The Show 18 The Little Things
Speaking of displays of emotion... maybe I've missed it in this thread but had no idea this was in the game. Yasiel Puig struck out at the plate for the 2nd or 3rd time in RTTS game..... broke the bat over his knee like Bo Jackson. Wish I would have gotten it on video.... but have a screenshot of both pieces of bat in his hands just after he broke it.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 18 The Little Things
I've seen a couple players look like they were fixing to attempt it but thought better of it. I don't know if Puig has the temperament but if he wanted to I think he certainly could. lolOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: MLB The Show 18 The Little Things
Playing against the Reds in a series and in Games 1 and 2 they had the extreme shift on for Matt Carpenter. He proceeded to get 3 hits in the first two games by going to left field/3rd base.
Game 3, they played him straight up.
Not sure if game is designed this way or if it was a fluke, but cool to see nonetheless.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
