don't know if this has been mentioned, but I had an umpire get hit by a foul ball straight back that the catcher missed and he doubled over in pain. That was a neat little addition I hadn't seen before. It's only happened once in about 20 games

Re: MLB The Show 18 The Little Things
A nice cool little touch I happen to catch D'backs manager signal a steal and I saw it but thought it was window dressing and it was a real call. Check this little video. This was in Franchise.

If this is step one, I hope step two or three become team specific and becomes random to mean different things like hit and run, steal, swing and run, double steal ect...

Re: MLB The Show 18 The Little Things
I have never heard anything come from the controller speaker on this game or 17. I have the volume up on the controller as GTA5 works fine. is there a setting I am missing in the game somewhere?Comment

Re: MLB The Show 18 The Little Things
In all previous games you got a quick weather status box telling you the temperature and wind direction. Anybody see this in 18? I play Franchise/quick-counts so I am mashing the X button to speed the game up. Perhaps I'm preventing the display.
Thanks.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 18 The Little Things
It's still in the game, but generally happens within the 1st 3 pitches of the first at bat. So if you have a1-1 or a 2-1 count and you pit the ball in play fair you normally will not see it.

Re: MLB The Show 18 The Little Things
They added some kid screaming to the crowd noise, and he is really stinkin annoying!
Also, they seemed to have adjusted the trajectory of the curveballs, they seem to have that "hook" to them that you see in real life.Would the lady who left her nine kids at Wrigley Field please pick them up immediately? They are beating the Cubs 4-0 in the 7th inning!Comment

Re: MLB The Show 18 The Little Things
Currently playing RttS with Commentary off and it really allows me to hear the base coaches ALOT better. I recently had my player hit pitch inside that he was somehow able to bloop it to right field. When I reached first base I heard the coach ask " You took that pitch right above the hands, are you okay?" I thought that was cool for him to even recognize that.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 18 The Little Things
I'd like to amend my earlier review. This coming from a hardcore sports fan and sports video game fan.
I've played a handful of Franchise games. I haven't played The Show since '14 and it didn't feel much different to me. I was initially disappointed.
But after playing a few games, I'm really enjoying it. It's realistic, the commentary (from a video game standpoint) is great. The presentation, screen swipes, stats, ambience, etc, all in franchise, including the Radio Show (whatever its called) all help. It's not overblown, and I know there is so much more I want from The Show in franchise mode, but it's still enjoyable. It still feels like I'm doing something, even though baseball is the never-ending season. It's amazing how much commentary, stats, and a few simple items can make a game so good.
Well done SDS/SCEA. Enjoying this immensely.Check out my Tampa Bay Buccaneers CFM Thread.
You too can be a 5* recruit at FSU.......

Re: MLB The Show 18 The Little Things
I think this has been out there for a while, but the dancing bullpen following a Cubs homer at Wrigley is in.
Here is a video of me launching a 425 foot bomb with Willson Contreras...followed by a dance party with Carl Edwards, Jr., Steve Cishek, and others:

Re: MLB The Show 18 The Little Things
I'll give kudos as well as criticism.
Last night, I had my very first challenge at first base. One thing I had commented on, and asked for last year, was that the ruling that showed up on the screen as to whether the call was upheld or over-turned, should be displayed after the umpires give their signal as to the outcome...
And last night, I had no idea until the umpire gave the "safe" signal, and then the overplay showed up to show the call had been overturned.
Thank you, and nice work on fixing that "little thing".
