BTW..... the cap on it is extended all the way to 99. It's given me option to extend cap frequently but to never train it. Heck.... I get options over and over to develop stuff that is at or right at the max cap. It's frustrating when that attribute is supposed to be one of the staples of the archetype.

Re: Official MLB 18 : Road to the Show Thread
I want to create an CF or 2B this year. Already have a SS and RF. Which rosters should I use or should I just wait till the OSFM opening day rosters come out then start a new one. I feel like starting a new RTTS in 17 and transferring him into 18 is kind of cheating in this new format since he potentially could have max speed right off the bat.Comment

1) Default rosters of players on my team as well as my opponents (at least at the AA level) in MLB 18 are all fake players and a number of them look older than than their listed ages and a number of them are sporting these huge beards. Then of course all of their characteristics are made up. To me this is a bit of a negative, but the positive is that all their audio names are assigned and work. Basically you can be up and playing in no time at all using default rosters.
2) OSFM players are obviously based on real world players. Not sure how accurate their likenesses are, but they appear to be younger (matching their listed ages) and some of them are sporting beards, but many aren't. And then of course their skills and tendencies are based on real world data. To me this is a positive but a down side is at least 50% (possibly higher) of the players names do not have corresponding audio files to match. So often the OSFM people left the audio unassigned. So unless you spent the time to reassign the audio names, they are called out as only their Jersey #s by the PA and the announcers.
I guess it all depends on what sort of RTTS gamer you are. If your RTTS games last no more than a couple of minutes and the sole purpose is to get as many games in, in as shortest possible time. Does it really matter who the other players are in the league since you hardly ever encounter much of them anyway. Either roster works if the sole purpose of your RTTS career is to become a Hall of Fame MLB player by next month. But on the flip side if you are the sort of RTTS gamer who wants to emulate what it is like playing in the minor leagues where you take your time playing the games, then the OSFM rosters might give you a better experience.
I chose to take my time in RTTS using the OSFM rosters. But I suspect I am in the extreme minority here. Once a couple of the MLB 18 RTTS bugs are fixed, I will be migrating my MLB 17 RTTS OSFM files (a pitcher and a SS) to MLB 18. But for now I am back playing RTTS in MLB 17.Last edited by My993C2; 03-28-2018, 12:34 PM.Comment

Re: Official MLB 18 : Road to the Show Thread
I created a RTTS SS using the default rosters in MLB 18 and have a comparable RTTS SS over in MLB 17 but this time using the OSFM Offseason Release #9 rosters. A couple of differences are:
1) Default rosters of players on my team as well as my opponents (at least at the AA level) in MLB 18 are all fake players and a number of them look older than than their listed ages and a number of them are sporting these huge beards. Then of course all of their characteristics are made up. To me this is a bit of a negative, but the positive is that all their audio names are assigned and work. Re: Official MLB 18 : Road to the Show Thread
Well I started a 2B in 17 using offseason 9 and found a mid season save for a 82 ovr CF In AA. decided to bring them into 18. The CF has the minors from the beginning of last year. I’m on the Mariners. They have Tyler O Neil. So I have a CF RF SS that I’m continuing from 17. Then created a 2B in 17 and transferred it into 18. I found I turn more DP’s as a 2B than a Ss. Like putouts.
I remember seeing somebody claim you can't transfer the file right away/you have to get a season in. Wasn't sure if it was true or notComment
