Nothing. I guess I would have played a season if I didn’t wait for the OSFM rosters to come out. Is your 3B your only RTTS?

Yea. I was thinking about doing another one but I’m already invested in this one. Plus I’m playing with Mike Trout, JD Martinez, and Thames. We score loooooots of runs lol.

I have 4 RTTS. I’m 5 seasons in on my SS. He was my main until I decided to remake my two OF’s I stopped playing. I hated Of bc of the camera. Now that it’s fine. OF is fun now. My LF is a power hitter CF contact speed and my SS can do a bit of everything. Last year he hit 85 HRs 140 RBI’s and 100 SB’s batting .390.... glad I’m getting the strings pulled back this year to make him more realistic.
        My 4th is a SP

WOW!!! Yea I’d say that’s a little unrealistic, but only just a little bit...lol. In 40 games in the big leagues I’m batting .333, 11 HR, 31 RBIs, and 2 SBs which is pretty impressive if you figure I have 25 speed. I’m playing on Dynamic difficulty and it jumps between All-Star+ and Hall of Fame now.

Yep that’s it. Thing is I can’t get my arm strength up in games or in training. So it’s pretty much stuck at 62 and it’s really frustrating.

Re: Official MLB 18 : Road to the Show Thread

So I did some batting cage training last night with my 2B which increased his left and his right contact hitting by 2 points. However when I went in to play my game this evening and before even making it to the diamond for the game, SDS took away the 2 points they gave me last night. Perhaps the 1.0.6 update had something to do with this? I don't know. I made a point to save the progression after training, but now it's gone. You just can't get ahead in this game can you. It's one thing to lose progression because you make mistakes on the field. But that's not the case here.

I was very active in the field in my game this evening and one of my defensive CAPs is poised to roll over into the next level in the next game. I am going to need to keep an eye on it to see if it too gets taken away before I even hit the field like these training points were taken away.

Re: Official MLB 18 : Road to the Show Thread

So my plain filthy pitcher over the last month that I played. (Running fastball, circle change, and screwball)

                  4 games played, 3 wins 0 losses
                  29 1/3 innings pitched
                  ERA 0.61
                  4 Quality starts
                  7 hits
                  2 runs
                  2 earned runs
                  1 home run
                  0 walks
                  47 strikeouts

I was fortunate to play against some weaker teams and some players that were on cold streaks.

Can you even get drafted in the 1st or 2nd roundabout?

I'm in double A I've played 6 games, and now I've been moved to CP. Like I understand it happens to position players but it doesn't make as much sense for a pitcher you don't really have a secondary position as a pitcher. Not to mention I have 5 wins under a 1.00 ERA, 6 qualities starts and 64 strikeouts.

Has anyone else had this happen to them?

At least with position players it doesn't hinder development but moving to closer you need to pitch more than an inning a game to get the same progression if you pitch about 7 innings per start, and with a closing pitcher, you don't even pitch every game or every few games...

Update: I missed 3 starts which covered 19 games and in those 19 games I got in 3 times for one inning a piece...sigh

I was opposite, I am a CP and they made me a starter, naturally your stamina is way low and by the 4th you are running on empty LOL. It is a pain cause you will lose some ratings cause you aren't built for that position but hey treat it like a rite of passage.

Stick with it and they swap you back and I had a choice to reinforce I am a CP when it happened.

This happened to one of my RTTS pitchers from MLB 17. He made about 6 appearances in relief before being moved back to a starter and then after his first start a new agent contacted him and before you know it he was promoted to AAA. Not sure if you'll be promoted like I was in MLB 17, but the swap from a starter to the closer is scripted in the game. It sucks, but at least in MLB 17 it was only temporary.

Finally imported my '17 save, and I forgot how absolutely disgusting of a team the Angels have put together by 2019. This was done using multiple save points (backtracking any terrible trades, reloading trade deadlines/offseasons multiple times for optimal results)

With NINETEEN games left in the season, here is our lineup and some stats. Average starting pitching, but a great bullpen. Everyone in our lineup vs RHP at least is hitting 20 HRs, minus Catcher Tyler Flowers @ 18

220 more runs then 2nd place!!!! 4 guys with 100+ RBI and likely 5 at least by seasons end

6 guys leading for silver sluggers. Joc (DH), Thames (1B), Murphy (2B), Jose Ramirez (3B), Dane Marshall (me, SS), Mike Trout (CF).

Up until september call ups, we had Adam Eaton leading off vs LHP while Joc went to the bench, now Jorge Polanco and his 89 contact vs lhp slides in at DH at the 8 spot while Eaton rides the bench

This is all while Mike Trout is having a career worst season hitting just over .280 and posting a career low of 7.9 WAR (lol)

Something else I noticed after going through multiple drafts.... no matter what round I'm in the draft order stays the same. Even if you go back to college and reenter the draft it's the same order of teams. I put 40K of training points on a LF I had in The Show 17 and imported into 18. After the showcase when you enter the draft....if you are drafted by a team you don't want you can quit out of the game right there and reload the save right at the draft everytime. There are about half a dozen teams that you will usually be limited to. For me my options are pretty much Cincinnati, Milwaukee, Anaheim, San Diego, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Miami. The Braves have the 5th pick in that order and I tried a gazillion times to get selected by them and would never happen.
