I’m also beginning to worry that I won’t ever be called up. I’m now beginning my third season, I am the 2nd highest overall player in the entire White Sox organization (83, player ahead of me is not same position), have had two very good seasons (one AA, one AAA), and yet I am not even on the 40-man roster. They have me in AAA for the second straight season. I’ve also been traded twice already in my brief two year career. I just don’t understand. Currently waiting for my agent to contact me again so I can demand a trade in hopes of being called up. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue?

Re: Official MLB 18 : Road to the Show Thread
Haven’t played this game in 2 months. Started fresh with a RF, got drafted by the Braves, traded to the A’s because Atlanta was a dumpster fire, became a starter. Was having fun until I got three botched/no show animations in a row; it’s the one where your fielder is running back to the ball and doesn’t field it, despite the ball being a few inches away from his nose.
Back in the pile it goes.

Re: Official MLB 18 : Road to the Show Thread
Man..... the rain games are driving me insane. SDS needs to tone it down or give the option to turn the weather OFF. I get that it's a feature they want to incorporate but NO ONE plays baseball in the monsoon conditions I play in for entire series at Atlanta. Delay the game....postpone it to a double header....enhance it in SOME way. Playing an entire 3 or game series in a downpour is annoying and dumb. The bunts are the other thing that drive me insane. Bases loaded 2 out bunts with tyler flowers? 2 out runner on 2nd and Freddie Freeman bunts?? Maybe I need to take a break.
That’s a bug in RTTS. It keeps same weather if you play all games in series without backing out each game.

So I did finally get called up to the White Sox right after the All-Star break. I still feel like it took too long given my ratings and performance, but I’m just glad to be in the big leagues finally!Comment

Re: Official MLB 18 : Road to the Show Thread
I have a love-hate relationship with this game, leaning towards hate.
For one, the fielding can be absolutely broken, especially when playing 1B. On hard hit grounders, my guy will half-heartedly put his glove down and let the ball fly by, which is somehow ruled an error. I’ve been pulled away from the ball in certain instances, too (I have 80 Fielding and Reaction, mind you). I love fielding but I had to turn fielding opportunities off because I couldn’t deal with the BS.
Also, what is the deal with the PCI? Before the pitch, my hitting zone is quite large, but on the display, it’s super small? I’ve heard some people say that the PCI is worthless but I’m no tin-hatter and won’t dive into that.
Overall, I think RTTS isn’t bad...but it also isn’t very good, either. I actually like the grind to become a decent big leaguer, but the actual gameplay elements need an overhaul, IMO.

Re: Official MLB 18 : Road to the Show Thread
Additional update: I hit .284 with 14 HR and 42 RBI in 254 plate appearances my rookie year. I also started almost every game I played, which was most of them. I am starting my 2nd season, (88 OVR, 2nd highest in the organization) on the bench behind Tim Anderson (83), who was quite awful last year. Through the first series I have served as a pinch runner in one game. It’s not like I only play SS either, I can play 2nd, 3rd, and RF. I don’t get this game sometimes.Comment

Lmao I asked for a trade from Seattle because they wanted me to play RF. Five games in and I’m STILL playing 1B.

Re: Official MLB 18 : Road to the Show Thread
So I booted up my 3B RTTS dude today (get maybe a series or so in a week). Braves who are 16 GB the Nats sent me to the Mets, so ok little disappointed as I wanted to be a part of the Braves rebuild. But the Mets were only 5.5 GB the Gnats.
Played 2 games against the Mariners, and the Mets sent me packing to D.C. No complaints, just thot it was odd I got traded twice in 3 days lol. I hit the go ahead HR in the second game against Seattle. Apparently the Mets had no love for me and my .340 avg and 13 bombs my rookie year.
I'll make em both pay lol

Re: Official MLB 18 : Road to the Show Thread
Decided to switch things up a little and become a Starting Pitcher, based on the second coming of Nolan Ryan. After notching my first K and W, I didn’t play a single game and instead, grinded my way to a 95 Overall with a 102mph fastball and a nasty changeup. Won 2 Cy Youngs with the Yanks and helped them into the playoffs with my first 20 win season.
I pitched in the Wild Card game after playing a few games to get re-acquainted. Holy crap, either pitching in this game is bad, or I’m thinking I need some new sliders.
Despite having max control on my pitches, being a hair late on the timing sends the pitch to the opposite side of the plate. I even had a fastball down and away float into the heart of the plate and get smacked.
For me, the game is more fun to watch than actually play. Anyone have some good sliders to recommend?

Re: Official MLB 18 : Road to the Show Thread
It‘s getting a little ridiculous with the trades in my pitchers career. I‘m in my third season in the MLB (second full) and I‘ve been traded four times already, three times alone in this season and THIS week! I‘ve been drafted by Oakland, sent to the Royals in year one. They have moved me to the Cubs which I liked because they are contending. Unfortunately they traded me to the Blue Jays after 1 game and 1 game later I was sent back to the Cubs for the same players they traded me for before. I just hope they keep me now.Comment

Somebody failed their physical so they had to reverse the trade. I like it.Comment

Re: Official MLB 18 : Road to the Show Thread
Hey everyone,
Just started a RTTS. Really enjoying this new performance based system so far.
I have a question concerning my player.
In the showcase I went back to college twice, got drafted by the Pirates in the third year. I have a 20 year old Solid option center fielder. I’m still at the beginning of my AA career, got off to a good start so far (.302) 2HR 10RBI and 5SB in my first 16 games.
My player is currently a 58 OVR but has a D potential. My concern is when I become a veteran player and go to free agency, will I get respectable offers based on my overall or will I have bad offers because of my D potential?
I saw someone post on this thread how they had a poor offer after a great season and he feels it was because of the potential.Comment
