love all of your threads each year but the fantasy draft thread is my favorite as there is nothing better than a "perfect" fantasy draft. Just hopeing that with the increased use of relife pitchers, that this year may be the year that the relife pitcher round is gone and that relife pitchers go randomly all draft.

Planning on doing a draft with legends as my test franchise. I will do the draft tonight and update everyone. I am super excited for this years game as I feel like I have finally grown out of my ADD and starting over phase. .... I hope.

Anyone play around with this yet? Fantasy drafts are vastly different than in the past. The cpu will now prioritize young prospects in the way that they do with young talent in games like 2K. I saw Devers and Benintendi go in round 1/2 in some sims last night, and Acuna and Moncada in round 2. Previously you could wait 9-10 rounds to get guys like that. Will for sure make it more challenging, but also fresh

I’ll be running a draft once I pick up and install the game in a couple of hours. Thinking marlins, pirates or reds. Will all depend on uniform options

Re: Official MLB The Show 18 Fantasy Draft Franchise Progress Thread

Well first off...this game is AWESOME!!

On a side note, I decided to do a fantasy draft with the Mets (my dads favorite team - watched them a lot as a kid and I no longer live in nyc) but I digress...

I got the 24th overall pick, I am currently in the 54th round of the draft. When it’s all over, I will post the intro to the franchise, Mlb roster, and top 20 draft picks.

**i am keeping a list of who I’m drafting, what round, and age / overall as the draft goes along. Planning on stopping doing that at the 60th pick. Anyone that wants to see that let me know.

I'm gonna give this a whirl once my game is done installing, I'm waiting to crank up a IRL franchise and a new RTTS till OSFM drops. Probably gonna do the Padres(my wifes favorite team) and that park is gorgeous and I can choose the roster!!!!

                        Mikey's Mets

A new year is upon us, and so its franchise time. Couldn't wait for the OS rosters to drop, had to get something going ASAP. So here we go with Mickey's Mets.

New GM Joe Smith is at the helm of the Amazins, with Mickey Callaway leading the team from the dugout. When word leaked that the Mets would have the 24th overall pick in the draft, the young GM replied "We will stick to our plans, regardless of who's on the board." And so the draft began, with the Mets shocking most of the baseball world...

The first three picks for the Amazins were 3B Josh Donaldson, 1B Joey Votto, and LF Marcell Ozuna!! Quite the shock for a team that hired a pitching coach to be the head coach, but the GM and the Manager seem to be on board. "Of course I'm happy with these big bats, it will only make my job easier." Manager Mickey Callaway was quoted by a team source.

So heres a look at the big league roster:

*These are the guys most likely to be called up in case of an injury*

                        Summary

The Mets look primed to contend for the World Series this year, with a great lineup, a solid top 3 of starters, and what appears to be a shut down bullpen. The biggest concern for the Mets is the lack of youth / and top flight prospects. The draft is going to be a big key for long term success, as well as our current prospects development.

The Mets are ranked #1 in pitching, #5 in defense, #9 in power, #12 in speed, and #19 in contact going into the season.

** Hopefully this wasn't too big of a post, just wanted to give you guys an idea of the big picture of the team**

*** Side note: I edited a few of the CAP's names / faces / ages, just for aesthetics. No ratings have been changed / altered. Also, I will be playing ALL games, planning on using this a carry over franchise.***

                        * Frankie little is a rookie, 23 years old. Good speed 80, 77 fielding, 73 glove. Awful accuracy and not a very good hitter. He was something kelly but I changed his name and made him left handed*

Yep. And this sucks IMO. I do a fantasy draft in season mode every year and play all 162+ games. This year with only franchise mode available, the AI selects young guys before some of the best players...like guys in the 70s (rating) in the second round on. This makes it so my team will be stacked since I’m only playing one season. I guess I could not select the best players to make it even or just rely on dynamic difficulty. But man this sucks to not have a single season option.
