I enjoy reading them. Also if they give you more immersion in your franchise keep it up!

I may have an answer but first I’d ask are you seeing an issue with signing players (when you haven’t signed the entire roster yet - say you have 50 available spots)?

If so, you need to sign every and all MInor league FA that are on your team (cheap as possible). Whoever you do not want to tender a contract to, go into your roster and release them (so long as you don’t owe them money). In years past this has assisted in free agency due to the cpu no longer accounting for these players salaries in your budget.

On a side note, I have not ran a sim this year so I am just talking on previous experience. I usually end up drafting a few older guys on expiring deals (see my “key minors guys”), to assist with realism, as well as the budget going forward.

Also, if you’re playing a lot of your games - you can use your earned Stubbs to augment your budget.

        *****

Last but not least...3rd inning - get two runners on and bunt them into scoring position. Scott Kingery hits a weak sinking liner to Phillies right fielder Domingo Santana - who dives for the ball and just misses it. It rolls all the way to the corner, and Kingery is able to pull of the inside the park home run!!!!

        ****

Sorry had to add that in, but I can’t remember EVER having a legit inside the Parker that wasn’t due to an error in all my years of playing the show.

The next two games - both Stroman and Pomeranz were destroyed by the cardinals and the long ball.

The biggest problem on offense is an inability to drive in runners in scoring position. Case in point, bases loaded no outs in game three (final score 9-3) and the score is 5-0. Donaldson, Votto, & Cutch all go down without pushing a single runner across the plate.

Here’s to hoping for some better performances!!

Next up: the Mets host the Phillies for three games. Here’s the matchups on the mound

            Game 1: Brandon McCarthy (R) vs Wei-Yin Chen (L)
Game 2: Zach Godley (R) vs Steven Matz (L)
Game 3: Jon Lester (L) vs Jacob deGrom (R)

            Phillies Lineup:
            2B Eduardo Nunez (R)
            CF Gregor Blanco (L)
            LF Michael Brantley (L)

** should I keep adding these series by series update & outlooks / rosters for the opposing teams? Or would you guys prefer not to have that added? I just find it a little more interesting that way. Let me know

Agreed. Honestly it almost forces you (atleast for me) to continue on with the franchise. You don’t wanna put a bunch of stuff up on here and then just delete and start over lol. Man this team is fun to play with though. Anyone that HASNT drafted and is planning on it - I STRONGLY suggest drafting Kingery - he is a monster for me, plus that crazy contract he has.

Mets sweep the Phillies : 4-2 on the season

The Mets bats came alive outscoring the Phillies 23-8 over three games. It all started during the first game of the series when Scott Kingery took advantage of some bad luck and hit a 3 run inside the park homer. Ultimately the bullpen faultered and allowed the Phillies to close the gap, but brad brach shut the door for his first save of the season. The next two games were pure displays of offense, as the Mets won 10-1 & 6-1 respectively. Josh Donaldson hit 4 homeruns and one double in the series, to go along with 7 rbis.

Next up, the Mets (4-2) travel to the nations capital to face off against Washington (2-4).

                  Pitching Matchups
                  Game 1: Marcus Stroman (0-1 6.00) vs James Paxton (0-0 7.20)
                  Game 2: Drew Pomeranz (0-1 15.00) vs Jake Arrieta (0-1 0.00)
                  Game 3: Brandon McCarthy (1-0 3.86) vs Hisashi Iwakuma (0-1 9.00)

                  Nats Lineup
                  CF Odubel Herrera (L)
                  2B Joe Panik (L)
                  LF Rhys Hoskins (R)
                  1B Brandon Moss (L)
                  RF Eloy Jimenez (R)
                  C Francisco Mejia (S)
                  SS Freddy Galvis (S)
                  3B Chris Johnson (R)

** just an FYI in regards to Scott Kingery, I edited him from OS roster and upped only his speed (to an 83), as well as his potential (to an 85). Everything else is what came with OS V. 1

Re: Official MLB The Show 18 Fantasy Draft Franchise Progress Thread

Did a new draft with the drop of OSFM rosters. I liked this draft overall much better than the first one I did. Was able to grab good prospects and still have a very competitive major league team to start with.

Traded from my SP depth to get Mookie Betts (replacing Kole Calhoun at RF), traded Trey Mancini for Khris Davis at LF and traded Francisco Cervelli for Manny Pina at C (mainly just to cut his salary). The guys listed on my disabled list on here are my top-8 prospects

Yeah I thought he was rated a little low in those categories as well. Now I really may do a re draft or maybe just trade for him lol

Yeah man, idk what it is about him maybe I just really like his batting stance, but I’ve been killing it with him on offense. Yeah I know it’s early in the season but shoot. Guy is looking like a straight super star

So made a new team and here it is. Same team Nats had a top ten pick but upper half of the top ten. Only played one game with the other team so no big loss

                          CF Austin Hays
                          CF Mickey Moniak

As you can see I sacrificed some on the MLB level to be able to get some better prospects this time around.

Kingery did go 3-6 in my first game with 2 runs scored, but on the bad side he was 0-3 with a runner on 2nd
