I'm just trying to find a good way to draft for all the teams without overpowering my team. Any and all thoughts tips or anything welcome thanks
You are a brave man. That is a monster task.

Keep a notebook and notate every position you are drafting for each team. For example:

Yankees - 1B, SP, SP, SS, 2B etc etc.

Draft every teams 25 man roster. Then you can start building each teams farm system based on best available, but again keep a notebook to mark every position you draft so you have a balanced league and every team not overweighted in certain positions.

    Hope that helps.

I noticed that some teams have fake/new players that were not on the roster. Has anyone else encountered this and if so is there a fix? Thanks in advance.
Not at all. That sounds really weird. Maybe wrong roster loaded? I’ve probably done 50 fantasy drafts just because I’m addicted to it and haven’t seen that once. Care to share your edited roster?

Ohtani got that first win in a 10-2 win in the Rockies home opener.

They also got to see him as a hitter, and he drilled a ball to right-center for his first MLB home run. He also had three RBI in a 2-for-3 effort.

On the mound, he was as impressive. He gave up a home run late in his outing but still worked six innings and gave up just two runs while striking out eight. He had his big fastball working, even breaking triple digits on occasion, which really got the fans excited.

Elsewhere, Miguel Sano stroked a home run and picked up his first triple of the season. He was just a double short of the cycle.

The surprise story on offense continues to be Raul Mondesi, Jr. Thought to be a defense-first player, the Rockies number eight hitter has started the season on a .414 clip. Ichiro isn't doing so bad himself as the 44-year-old has a .357 batting average in the early going.

The win put the Rockies at 7-5 as they continue the home stand. The team is 1/2 game out of the first, behind the Dodgers at 7-4.

I'm just having the craziest draft right now ! One where everything seems to fall into place. Went in with the Red Sox, and the 5th pick overall in the first round. This is one I really don't wanna screw-up !

          SP - R23 - Zack Godley (R)
          SP - R17 - Amir Garrett (L)
          SP - R29 - Matt Wisler (R)
          SP - R24 - Jeff Hoffman (R)
          SP - R25 - Carson Fulmer (R)
          SP - R16 - Anderson Espinoza (R)

          RP - R14 - Jose Alvarado (L)
          RP - R22 - Miguel Castro (R)
          RP - R26 - Joe Jimenez (R)
          CP - R04 - Felipe Rivero (L)

          CATCHERS
          C - R21 - Omar Narvaez (L)

          INFIELDERS
          1B - R09 - Jose Abreu (R)
          1B - R19 - Ryan McMahon (L)
          2B - R06 - Cesar Hernandez (S)
          2B - R20 - Lourdes Gurriel (R)
          3B - R10 - Kyle Seager (L)
          3B - R05 - Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (R)
          3B - R30 - Miguel Andujar (R)
          SS - R07 - Dansby Swanson (R)
          SS - R11 - Fernando Tatis Jr. (R)

          OUTFIELDERS
          LF - R27 - Carlos Gonzalez (L)
          LF - R28 - Rusney Castillo (R)
          CF - R12 - Aaron Hicks (S)
          CF - R18 - Desmond Lindsay (R)
          RF - R01 - Bryce Harper (L)
          RF - R31 - Justin Williams (L)

          * Italic = Player should start in AAA

          THE PLAN SO FAR...
I think I'll keep six starters with the team, using one of Zack Godley or Amir Garrett out of the bullpen, or maybe a rotation between the two. I'm hoping to add a few bullpen arms soon, as I'd really like Wisler to start in AAA, and be my ace down there.

I'm probably going to platoon Gonzalez and Castillo in the left field, with Gonzalez also being used as a DH. I'm gonna start guys like Guerrero Jr., Tatis Jr., Gurriel and McMahon in AAA, so they'll get plenty of playing time, and hopefully develop into the stars I'm hoping for...hopefully, a call-up during the season.

I'll try to snag a few vets for my bench in the meantime, guys like Solarte, Headley, etc...are usually still available pretty late.

Man, I think I finally have my team !
...and then OSFM Hybrid's gonna come out, and I'll be tempted to start over again !

I'll upload the roster later tonight. I want to try something first as it relates to potentials to see if that's the problem causing generated players. I use the top 30 prospects each year to determine potentials, based on overall 20-80 ratings scale and top 100 prospects overall. In short, only those in the top 100 have a potential in excess of 75 with top 30 players not in the top 100 having a potential determined by their overall 20-80 ratings. The thought here is that 90+ Rated players tend to be lock in HOF'ers with high 80's perennial all stars, low 80's potential all stars, high 70's top tier positional starters/top of the rotation starters/set-up men, low 70's bottom tier position starters/bottom of the rotation starters/middle relievers, hi 60's rated players are platoon/bench/utility/long relief/spot starters, low 60's triple a, high 50's double a, low 50's single a. My roster only has 35 90+ players and 109 80-89 rated players. Reality is very few top 30 prospects ever make it to be a top half positional starter/top of the rotation, I.e. high 70's. The traditional interpretation of the 20-80 scale is that a 55 rated player is an above average regular/bottom of the rotation starter, so for me a player that has a 55 overall potential should get a 75 potential rating. A 50 is considered average regular/lower half of the rotation, hence a 72 potential, 45 is platoon/#5 pitcher, hence 69 potential and a 40 is bench/spot starter, hence 66 potential. None of the top 30 per team has a sub 40 overall. So for those players that are not top 30, I calculate their potential as whatever their current rating is +1-1.25 year improvement till age 28-29. So for example if a 20 year old who is not top 30 rated has an overall rating of 55, then his potential range is 63-67, or an average of 65. The minimum potential I will give someone is a 50, so for example a 27 year old 45 rated player based on the formula should be a potential of 46-47, but I will give him 50 which is the low end of an A league player. If a player's rating is above their potential based on the 20-80 scale I use the default of age +1-1.25 for each year left until 28-29 to adjust the potential high since the player is already outperforming what experts said their potential would be. What this results in is a handful of players with ratings in the mid to high 40's and low to mid 50's with potentials from 50-60. I wonder if the system determines that it will create a handful of random players to offset the number of players with potentials in the 50-60 range?

Started one up with San Diego.

Plan was to draft hitters that hit in the gaps, outfielders that can cover some ground, not really a need for strikeout pitchers. More focused on defense. Wanted to build a team around speed, contact, and a bullpen that is lights out.

              Here is how it looks.

              Infielders

Draft every teams 25 man roster. Then you can start building each teams farm system based on best available, but again keep a notebook to mark every position you draft so you have a balanced league and every team not overweighted in certain positions.

                  Hope that helps.

What I ended up doing is using recommended pick for the first 29 rounds. And then just choosing the best overall player rounds 29-53 for all the teams. How I chose my own team was I could only choose players from each position by the top overall.
For example: the highest rated SP available when I went to pick was 86 but there were 5 SP players for 86 overall. So I could choose any one of those 5 players but I couldn't go underneath 86 overall. So I couldn't go get a SP with a 85 overall if there were still SP 86 overall.

It made it so my team was very different than I would normally get but also so teams were alot more equal. Like I might miss out on a A+ prospect because when i went to pick they weren't the highest or tied for the highest overall for their position.

And just a side note I'm using default rosters, but I've balanced out all the positions so they all have same amount of 90+, 80+, 70+, 60+ players for each position besides pitchers and catchers. Though some positions may have 1 less 90+, 80+ etc. players than the rest because I didn't want to touch ratings at all. So if anyone wants to use my rosters and I'll post them I think they are perfect for Fantasy Draft Franchise

The Rockies are playing well in the early going, and after a good week of baseball, the team stands at 12-5 with an early lead in the NL West.

Leading the way has been then the offense, bolstered still by the strong play of SS Yunel Escobar and improvement in the performance of the pitching staff from top to bottom.

Also coming along is Joey Gallo. He's striking out a lot still, but he's been getting the bat to the ball more. His .276 batting average doesn't seem like much, but he's been stroking doubles and home runs in the process. His last game was a 2-for-4 effort that accounted for 3 of the team's 4 runs scored in the contest.

The team got an injury scare after Raul Mondesi, Jr. left the game after a stolen base attempt. He is listed as day-to-day, and has been in the lineup with no ill effects to this point.

Wow. I am way better than i thought i would be.

                      Currently 24-8 on May 4th.

Brett Gardner hitting .347 with 15 RBI. Ketel Marte hitting .322

Jake Lamb and Pedro Alveraz providing pop, with 8 and 6 homers. I am 3rd in the league in runs, and 5th in homers while playing 82 games in petco.

Oh yeah, I have the best ERA in the league, 2.71. Archer and BAuer have been lights out, with a 1.56 and 2.29 ERA.

Leake also has an ERA under 3, while Tomlin and Pomerez both sit below 3.10. Relievers have been no joke either. Andrew Miller has the highest ERA with 3.24, if that tells you anythng. Will be interesting to see how it keeps up. Been loads of fun

Does anyone else feel the opposing teams are too weak? Seems like since they draft heavy prospect oriented this year the other teams do not really pose a challenge

I've done 3 drafts and haven't been satisfied with any of them because of this issue.

Additionally, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to scroll through and actually find these prospects unless you know them all by name. Yeah, as a Braves fan I know who all of the top prospects are in their organization, but I'm not familiar with the other teams' players. It makes it difficult to also take part in drafting these high-pot guys.

It seems that the "best" solution is what the other poster did with 30 team control and just pick highest rated players at each position for each team, at least for the first 20 or so rounds.

Not really. Had some tight games, slugfest games. 18 games with my Rockies - record is good (12-6) but several close games - most of them have been rather close.

As far as prospects - I would open up something like this page: http://m.mlb.com/prospects/2018?list=prospects and then sort by position you're interested in or whatnot.

Especially if you're using OSFM since they put in the prospects, but even default rosters should have some of these guys.

Otherwise, no, not easy, but look at folks in the 70-80's early (first 10 or so) rounds, and then 60's later and look at their player cards. Those seem to be the ratings levels where prospects "hide".

Mallex Smith is 74, Raul Mondesi is 70, Yairo Munoz is 70, I think Buxton is in the 80's. Torres is probably near 80 as might Moancada. DeShields Jr (basically Buxton but goes later) is 80's. Ohtani is in the 80's but he goes VERY fast. Take him in the 2nd at the latest or trade for him after.

Finnegan is 72. I'm in a game so I can't see my minors to give some more guys. But check out that prospects site. At least you might get some names to look for, even as other teams take them to see when these guys tend to go and then you can jump in on them if you'd like.

I'm aware of online sources. I'm just strictly speaking about easily looking for quick drafts on the game.
