    Post Draft Confrence

The Phillies wound up with the first pick of the draft, and wasted no time calling Mike Trout's name. Heres how the first ten picks of the draft shook out:
    1. 1 - CF Mike Trout (R)
    2. 2 - LF Ian Happ (S)
    3. 3 - SP Walker Buehler (R)*Top 100*
    4. 4 - 2B Scott Kingery (R) *Top 100*
    5. 5 - CP Brandon Morrow (R)
    6. 6 - SP Rick Porcello (R)
    7. 7 - SP Ross Stripling (R)
    8. 8 - RP Josh Hader (L)
    9. 9 - RP Chad Green (R)
    10. 10 - SP Casey Mize (R)*Top 100*

With a great start to the draft, the Phillies continued rounding out the roster with a fine mix of youngsters and savy veterans. Heres how your Phillies look to open the season:

I am by no means a Phils fan, but I do get a sense of excitement at the idea of him playing for them, given his fandom for the Sixers/Eagles. I truly hope he plays there before he calls it a career (he has time a loooooot of time).

Looks like I'll be doing my "God Mode" Fantasy Draft this weekend. 75 rounds (or until I at least give teams a somewhat balanced system). Tracking every pick via excel spreadsheet, have even labeled tabs based on team's spending habits so that each team is realistically run.

Yes how did it turn out. Its making me want to do a draft like this now, even thou I played my first game with the Orioles last night and I won 5-2 behind David Price, Betances and Kimbrel. Khris Davis drove in 3 on 2 Sac Flys and a Solo Home Run to extend the lead in the 8th. I thought they had me a couple times but I was able to hold them off

Re: Official MLB The Show 18 Fantasy Draft Franchise Progress Thread

So I'm using OSFM 1.5 but I've have tweaked some potentials so not as many A potential and gave matching overalls/potentials to players like Jose Ramirez, Felipe Rivero etc. But anyways I was going to do a draft where I'm #1 pick overall and I'm actually thinking I might take Jose Altuve over Mike Trout am I crazy for even thinking this? Lol my reasoning is 2B is a way weaker position than CF so I'll still be able to find a really good CF later on but 2B you have to choose early if you want a really good one who isn't over 30...

So how crazy am I? Lol

Not crazy at all. There are more good CF's than elite 2B out there. You can get a CF that can hit you a good 25 HR

13 rounds on Friday - 3 hours spent. Supremely bad idea. I'm better off simming and picking an autodrafted team to work with.

Re: Official MLB The Show 18 Fantasy Draft Franchise Progress Thread

So I tried doing a draft with the #1 overall pick but didn't like the huge gap between picks. I like to have a pick somewhere in the middle of the round between pick 12-19. So I restarted the draft and I'm pick #15 which I'm really happy about. Usually around 97% of the time I go hotter first but I decided to go pitching first. So I've done the first 4 rounds and went SP first.

                          Round 1:
                          SP Noah Syndergaard (92)
He's only 25 and has 4 years of control. Has power everything for all his pitches. It was between Snydergaard, Strasburg or Kluber.

                          Round 2:
                          LF Marcel Ozuna (87)
Hes 27 and has 2 years of control. Excellent fielder (90) with 60+ power versus both LH and RH with high 60's speed. Decided to go with LF because it is a weaker overall position.

                          Round 3:
                          SP Carlos Martinez (84)
Hes 25/26 and has 5 years on his contract. Like Snydergaard all his pitches are power pitches. Will form amazing 1-2 with Snydergaard. It was between Martinez, Garrett Richards and Michael Fulmer. I chose Martinez because of contract control plus his numbers were better than the other 2.

                          Round 4:
                          3B Mike Moustakas (84)
He's 29 on a 1 year deal. He plays excellent defense with 70's for all his contact and power numbers. Good 3-4 with Ozuna. Will probably end up resigning him in the offseason on like a 3 or 4 year deal depending how this season goes.

                          Round 5:
                          1B Eric Hosmer (83)
He's 28 on a 8 year deal. Plays excellent defense with above average contact and decent power. A middle of the order of some combination of Moustakas, Ozuna and Hosmer is a pretty good 3-4-5.

                          Round 6:
                          RF Chris Taylor (81)
He's 27 with 4 years of control. Has above average contact with decent power. Mid 70's speed with 70's fielding. I chose him because of his versatility being able to play all positions except 1B and C. Possibly looking at him as my leadoff hitter or maybe from the 2 spot.

As you can see I'm drafting players with above average to gold glove defense that can also hit for average and power. Also looking at players that can play multiple positions in case there is injuries or someone steps up, I can always still have my best players on the field.

I'm using OSFM 1.5 that I have made a few tweaks to it mainly potential changes and position changes. Didn't touch attributes. Will let you know how the rest of my draft goes

I was tracking everything via spreadsheet. I just realized, I should save that for after the draft when I was in the shower this morning, that's what extended it. I did one round (the 14th) without the spreadsheet (as it was loading up), and it only took a few minutes.

Maybe I'll try one more time sometime this week.

Oh yea I don't track it I feel like that would slow everything down. I just go thru positions and pick top player from each position for the CPU. But I do try to make sure all positions are balanced so don't have 12 C and only 3 SS or something like that.

Because I'm actually doing a draft, I started last night for couple hrs and I'm thru 40 rounds already. Going to finish rest today.

                                SEATTLE MARINERS UPDATE #1

So I have just finished drafting 30 team control and doing all 90 rounds for all the teams. Took a bit of time, but it was really worth it. Overall this has been my favorite team I've ever drafted, and this is the one I will be sticking with from now on. Now it's time to make sure all the teams have the best 40man roster possible. How I do the 40man rosters for all the teams is 10 SP, 10 RP. 4 catchers then 8 infielders and 8 outfielders. Then I add everyone to the MLB team and let CPU take over for the other 29 teams after that.

I play on All-Star hitting/pitching. I use directional with classic and auto fielding. I use these because it creates the most realistic game possible IMO. I use my own sliders I have created from scratch.

My next update will be later today and I'll show my 40man rosters with top 10 prospects.
