Re: Official MLB The Show 18 Fantasy Draft Franchise Progress Thread
I don't know if this is the proper place to note it, but last night was the first time in about 3 years that I was able to do a full (90 round) draft using 30 team control and not have the game crash before the ending (often, I would skip to the end after round 60, because it wasn't worth risking all my progress).
I wish there'd be some sort of save function in-draft in case the game crashes, but if the draft itself doesn't crash, there's no issue.-the least famous person you've never heard of.Comment

Mets drop 2 out of 3 to the Nats
The Mets managed to lose their second series of the young season. The first two games were competitive baseball games throughout, as we lost game one 2-3 and won game two 4-1. Game three was a blowout as Brandon McCarthy gave up 8 runs over 4 innings in what would end up an 8-2 loss.
Next up
The Mets (5-4) travel to Miami (5-4) in a tie for first place. This will be a big test for the early season, as the Mets will look to win their first series away from NY. It’s noteable that the Marlins superstar rookie, Shohei Ohtani, will not factor in to the rotation for the marlins during this series.
Pitching
Game 1: Zach Godley (1-0 1.69) vs Francisco Liriano (1-0 7.20)
Game 2: Jon Lester (1-0 1.80) vs Jimmy Nelson (1-1 4.15)
Game 3: Marcus Stroman (0-2 4.85) vs Mike Minor (1-1 5.25)
Marlins Lineup
CF Andrew Toles (L)
LF David Peralta (L)
3B Nolan Arenado (R)
2B Jonathan Schoop (R)
SS Yangervis Solarte (S)
RF Wil Myers (R)
1B Yonder Alonso (L)
C Robinson Chirinos (R)
Keys to the series
The marlins are one of the more complete teams in baseball, and look to be a viable playoff contender if they play to their abilities this season. That being said, here are the three keys to victories:
1: Keep the ball in the ballpark. The Mets starting pitchers have been outstanding for the most part, but have been prone to the longball. This will be especially important when facing Arenado (.314 4 hr 8 rbi).
2: Score early. The marlins have a dominate closer in Raisel Iglesias. The Mets will be best served scoring their runs before he enters a game.
3: Hitting with runners in scoring position. This continues to be an issue as the Mets has 8 hits (the same as the Nats) in the 8-2 loss. When guys get on, we must drive them in.MLB The Show 20

He was hitting consistently under .230 for me in year two so I traded him for Luis Castillo and Josh Harrison. His high potential worked out for me. Castillo went 19-3 and was third in Cy Young votingPS5 SN - smurf922Comment

Well it’s good to know he’s not that effective if you’re planning on summing at all lol. While playing with him though he’s been a beast. Not only on offense but that by has made some big time plays for me with his rangeMLB The Show 20

Mets sweep the Marlins
The Mets swept their division rival, and took over sole possession of first place. A 5-2 victory, followed by a 1-0 victory started off the series. In game three, Marcus Stroman gave up a 2 run hr in the first inning. The mets battled back and tied it up. In the 8th inning, with 2 on and two outs, Josh Donaldson pinch hit for Justin Wilson, and hit a single, scoring the go-ahead run. Scott Kingery came up to the plate next, and hit a line drive over the left centerfield wall for a three run shot. Those runs would prove to be of huge importance, as Jim Johnson continued to struggle, and gave up two runs in the 9th before Brad Brach earned his 5th save of the season.
