Mets take 2 of 3 against Colorado

The Mets won the weekend series against the Rockies. Some big news has hit New York, as 2B Scott Kingery currently has a 17 game hitting streak. In roster news, Jim Johnson was DFA’d, and Matt Harvey was called up to take his place in the bullpen. And what did Harvey do in his season debut? Give up 3 hrs in .2 innings. Hopefully Harvey can work it out, or the Mets May start looking at external options to solidify the pen.

Just finished the second game of the year against the Reds.
Chris Archer (Reds 0-1) Vs Aaron Sanchez (Nats 1-0)

Archer was wild in the first, Scott Kingery singles in his first at bat then Justin Bour works it to a 3-1 count before he blast a 2-run shot to put the Nats up 2-0. After this Archer would settle down. Sanchez would cruise too. The game did however have rain which would make the Ump's call for an hour and a half rain delay in the 7th. Nats manager would then opt to go with Josh Hader after they came back from the rain delay. Hader would shut them down as would Betances in the 8th. The Problem would be in the 9th when Closer Greg Holland came in. Holland gave up 5 hits, the last hit would be a 2 run single to win the game for the Reds.

Next up is Felix Hernandez (Nats 1-1) Vs J.A. Happ (Reds 1-1)

Game 3 King Felix shut them down until the 9th when he gave up a 2 run home run to Josh Donaldson. The game was closer than the final of 6-2. The Nats were winning 1-0 until they put 5 runs up in the 8th & 9th combined.

Next up the Nats travel to Atlanta for a three gam set

Mike Leake (Nats 2-1) Vs Marco Estrada (Braves 3-0)
Charlie Morton (Nats) Vs Jake Junis (Braves)

Re: Official MLB The Show 18 Fantasy Draft Franchise Progress Thread

Starting a new fantasy franchise with the Rockies. My goal of drafting a speedy team died pretty quick so...I guess I'll have to work on that over the years.

In fact, I don't think this team is viable, but if not, then we'll get a better pick next year's amateur draft.

                      Nice First Impression, DeShields, Jr.

Nothing like a cycle to start the year.

DeShields, Jr. pulled off that feat on the very first game of the Rockies season, helping the team claim a tense 8-5 win at Arizona.

The Rockies got three home runs against Jacob deGrom to get out to a 6-2 lead. Sano starting the home runs off with a 2-run shot in the first inning. DeShields, Jr. added a home run in the 3rd, and then Mallex Smith of all people had a 3-run home run that ended up chasing deGrom later in the inning.

That had the Rockies up 6-2. Arrieta gave two runs in the second and looked shaky. He fought his way into the 7th inning when he couldn't dance through the rain drops any longer and gave up a 3-run HR to make it 6-5.

Next half inning, Yunel Escobar hit a 2-run home run to make it 8-5. The Rockies bullpen had a struggle on its hands, culminating into Devinsky loading the bases in the 9th to bring the winning run to the plate. But, in the end, the Rockies got it done.

"I left him [Arrieta] in one batter too long. I probably should have gotten him the minute he gave up another base runner, " new Rockies manager Brian Kapotic commented after the game, "I think the big lead let me push him a little more and it could have cost us. The boys made me look smart."

Highly touted Shohei Ohtani will debut in game two against Rich Hill.

Re: Official MLB The Show 18 Fantasy Draft Franchise Progress Thread

Ohtani was on track to have a "perfect" debut.

First hit. First walk (as a hitter). First multi-hit game. First run scored. First strikeout (as P) and was on track for first win as he left with an 8-2 lead. It wasn't a flawless outing, but he battled and it could have been a good day.

Instead, the bullpen was crap on a cracker.

J.C. Ramirez left the game giving up 4 runs (2 charged to Ohtani, giving him 4 ER charged on the day) and not getting an out.

Vizcaino came in, and was no better. He actually gave up the lead.

It was 9-8 when all was said and done. The Rockies would lose the game 11-10 in yet another slugfest in Arizona.

Going to waste was also Yunel Escobar's great day as the veteran is helping the top of the order sing early on. Joey Gallo hit his second home run and Sano hit a laser that probably left a small dent in the ground when it landed for an RBI double that brought Ohtani home for his first run.

The Rockies will have to try to keep the bats going against Felix Hernandez. On their side, the Rockies will send Shelby Miller to the mound.

                            Ohtani Gets First....Save??

Hands up everyone who is anyone that thought Ohtani would get his first save before his first win.

But that's what happened. He came in as a pinch hitter for Will Smith in the 9th and stayed in to finish the game even with Devensky ready and waiting.

"We decided to see if he could do it. If anyone got on, Devensky was coming in, but he pitched a perfect 9th with a strike out and finished the game, " the Rockies manager commented.

This game was a pitching duel from start to finish. Both Jake Arrieta and Cole Hamels allowed just one run. Arrieta's hit allowed was a home run. That would be the only hit he allowed. Hamels had just a couple hits allowed and working on a shutout before a walk and a DeShields, Jr. double off the base of the left field wall tied the game.

Game tied at one, the Rockies got a couple walks to start the inning and then Ichiro put down a sac bunt to move both runners into scoring position. Vazquez then hit a sac fly to drive in Gallo for the lead. Then, Raul Mondesi laced a single to right to drive in Mallex Smith.

The Rockies have played some ugly games and some weird games but are starting off 4-2 on the road. The Rockies will finish this series with the Padres and then start the opening home stand against the Braves.

Really The Show?? Gonna cheat Ohtani out of his save?

Hey I want to do a 30 Team Control Fantasy Draft. I'm just wondering if anyone else has done this and how do they go about drafting for not only their team but the other teams. Because I've tried drafting just using the Recommended Pick button but once you get to like Round 30 the Recommended Pick is always the same position after that for all the teams. I'm just trying to find a good way to draft for all the teams without overpowering my team. Any and all thoughts tips or anything welcome thanks

Sorry in advance if this has been covered previously as I have not read this thread. But I just finished over 100 hours of work taking the OFSM 1.5 base and completely rerating everything to start my franchise with a fantasy draft. I noticed that some teams have fake/new players that were not on the roster. Has anyone else encountered this and if so is there a fix? Thanks in advance.
