Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion

Looking to acquire Chris Archer and Jurickson Profar for the Dodgers in my franchise. Would these deals work or how far off am I?

Profar for P Ferguson, C prospect
Archer for OF Diaz, P Santana, 2B Lux, OF Trayce Thompson, and one of Stripling/Owens/Stewart

Also what's the value of Hyun-Jin Ryu? Thanks for any feedback

Plan on running with the braves. Great farm system with a decent lineup. Thinking of trading for domingo santana. Seems legit because of the brewers logjam in the outfield. What do y’all think id have to give up to get him. Hopefully something with markakis to keep from creating a logjam of my own. Needed a righty compliment to freeman that seems somewhat realistic.

I know this isn't how it's usually approached, but Pomeranz is a guy I would consider adding in a Pirates franchise. Take a look at the Pirates and see who, if anyone, interests you.

Why would the Brewers want Markakis if they are trying to get rid of a log-jam like you said? Because you want to undo a potential one for you? Kind of interesting thinking! Definitely a deal to be worked out, but the Brewers will want a MLB ready arm, like Teheran for example.

Profar is a rough one to evaluate. Rangers seem to be wanting to be in the mix of things, and Profar doesn't have a home on this team anymore.

          Profar for Ryu.

Archer is worth about a $38 million value.

Pomeranz to any team in the market for SP would work. He is pretty valuable, but won't net you anything amazing... definitely not getting an Espinoza back.

JBJ is basically the same to any team needing an outfielder.

If you're looking for high ceiling arms I would tune back your hopes a bit. Both these guys would probably bring you back 2 B's and a C potentials in the end.

But if I don't land a significant haul with solid building blocks, I'll just hope he can be productive until he's 35 so I can still use him.
Freeman is worth around $114 million then take away what he is owed and then it drops him to about ~$50 million valued.

That would get you two prospects in the top 51-100 rankings and a lotto ticket. Solid package.

          Verdugo/Alvarez + Will Smith + lotto ticket.

Going to do a Braves franchise, since I love a re-building/prospects project.

Thinking of acquiring Jurickson Profar from Texas, since I have always been a fan of his, despite him not living up to his potential to date.

What would you think a fair deal from Atlanta's side would be for Profar? Going to try and resurrect his career in Atlanta, much like Tim Beckham in Baltimore.

Starting franchise as the yankees. Would love to trade elsbury and add a pitcher but nobody want elsbury. Other than that I dont have to many moves to make.

On the flip side, what type of return can the Jays expect for Donaldson? I'll probably ending trading him in my Jays franchise if we're not clearly heading to the playoffs by the trade deadline.

Any suggestions for a solid left handed starting pitcher I could acquire as the Yankees? Don't want to move Torres but everybody else is on the table. Was thinking about Quintana, but not sure what Chicago would want for him. Any thoughts?

                          For a Braves franchise.

I'm looking to land a front line starting pitcher under 30. A true Ace would be ideal, but I'm thinking probably more of a #2 guy who can be a solid veteran that I can still get a few years out of.

Any names I should consider/what would it cost?

Acuna is untouchable, but with all the pitching prospects in the team I think something could be worked out there. Maybe something like Sean Newcomb/Max Fried/Mike Foltynewicz? What would that get in return?

Also who has more value to trade between spangenberg and Asuaje? Asuaje is younger and under team control longer, but Spangenberg is more versatile and can play all IF and OF spots.

Why would the Cubs, a contending team, deal their solid lefty for prospects or lesser players?

There aren't too many lefties I can think that would be on the market right now. I would personally just go out and land Fulmer from Detroit.

Donaldson is worth nearly $20 million for 2018 alone. He could bring in a top 51-100 prospect and a lotto easily.

Profar is so hard to value.

The Rangers are experimenting with a meh pitching staff so if you call them up and offer Julio Teheran for Profar and a prospect that would work.

Freese could get you a low C prospect or just a lotto ticket.

Polanco is only worth roughly ~8.5 million since he has done nothing to prove to me he will be above a 1.5 WAR player. He could turn into a better player, but for now you could get one B prospect just outside the top 100 list.

Marte is roughly worth ~67 million as he is a solid player who is good on both sides of the ball. That could get you a top 11-25 prospect or a few lower top 100 prospects. He is your true prize to deal away.

                              Cervelli is similar to Freese.

Some lotto tickets. Nobody is going to trade anything very noteworthy for those guys, especially since you have a log-jam and want to clear room.
