I was selling so mine is a bit different (And I'm not at home right now so I'm not 100% sure who I got back), but I moved Pillar and Happ to Atlanta to fill a couple of their holes, and took back the Markakis contract, Newcomb (Who I pegged as having relatively close value to Allard, Soroka and Gohara @ $32.2 mil), and another pitching prospect who I can't remember right now, but was a low B potential.

Did it match up 100%? No, but it was close and filled up a couple of holes for both sides.

Yea, that’s a nice deal if you’re selling. Ahh maybe I’ll just wait and see if I get a surprise from my AAA garbage or take a risk on garbage from the FA market to fill the gap.

I’ll revisit this in a month or two lol

I always check the transaction page after I play my game and sim to the next day for this reason. I remember in Chipper Jones final season the show traded him to the Royals.

Would Wisler for Prado sound like a deal, assuming Braves take on majority of Prado's contract?

Idk if the braves would do that deal because of the 15 mil for 2019. If it wasnt because of that 15 mil his surplus numbers would be better which would make him more valuable. If i was looking for a 3rd baseman just for this year id call the padres and ask about Chase Headley whos a free agent at the end of 2018. He also would be way cheaper than 15 mil going forward.

Giants are 7-under .500 at all-star break while Braves are first in NL but have 4.59 team ERA (by far my worst pitching season ever).
I got 43.5 mil surplus for bumgarner (assuming the 12mil team option gets picked up). If anyone wants to confirm/check feel free.

Giants have nothing for pitching prospects and the braves have load. So this is a really good match. I would say Wright or Soroka, Kolby Allard and throw in a lotto ticket.

Wright/Soroka + Allard + lotto ticket for Bumgarner should work I think. Braves get a very good SP, and the giants get two top 60 SP prospects.

Those values are absolutely correct, but sometimes you have to also put your baseball knowledge in there as well.

While Pillar' s values is way above that of deshields and Hamels put together. No way Texas trades either one of them straight up for Pillar, again you have to use baseball knowledge here and not pure numbers.

There has to be a point where the value of a player is adjusted to how valuable he is considered to the team you would be trading him to. While Pillar may have a 52m surplus, he wouldn't be considered that valuable by Texas cause he doesn't fit the plan. Texas really only does this deal to get rid of Choo, and forfeiting their ability to get prospects for Hamels to unload a contract.

TOR does it well because he's Toronto and he said he was interested in Hamels.

Also adding in Curt wouldn't change the trade any feel free 5o add him.

Thanks for this. I will think on it over the next couple of weeks in my franchise. If my pitchers don’t turn it around, I might just go ahead and do it. I want back in the playoffs and if I only have to lose Pillar and one pitching prospect, then i am happy with it.

EDIT: could even move Pillar to a team needing CF and get the Rangers more prospects. Any idea of who would want Pillar for 52 M surplus of prospects?

Thanks for the help! That’s why I always come here for help lol

Ahh the answer to that question will follow this formula lol.

Time + Teams in Cont. - Injuries / Your Needs

Lol I mean not really but you get what I'm saying. Another words you need to get further in the season, and we need a little more info to get that answer.

Absolutely agree with filling needs, but the Jays also don’t need Choo with Teoscar, Alford and Pompey waiting in the wings. All he does is add $20 mil to your teams salary for the next few years.

If it were me, I’d give you a couple of so/so prospects like Reece McGuire and Pompey straight up for Hamels, but I’d still technically be overpaying.

Does anyone have an issue with 30 team control where the CPU never/ever initiates a trade offer with the user-controlled team? I've had it each of the past two years and it's pretty annoying.

I've tested it by putting the trade slider on 10 and adding Freddie Freeman, Albies, Acuna to my trading block, crickets from the CPU teams. They trade amongst themselves all day long, and I can initiate a trade with them, but nothing directed from them to the user-controlled team.

I do not have force trades on, and I follow the steps in the 30 team control, everything else works perfectly fine (injuries, FA, etc.)

So I am playing my franchise with the Cubs and made two separate trades with the Yankees and red Sox and I have force trades off so I didn't scam anyone the trades were as follow:
NYY: Aaron Judge and Green for CHC: Jason Heyward and Ian Happ and Pedro Strop
BOS: Andrew Benintendi and Jackie Bradley Jr for CHC: Kyle Schwarber and Ben Zobrist and Nelson Velasquez
I think they were good deals and I know in real life it may never happen but I thought it was cool

Not a fan of either of these. Yanks aren't trading Judge for one of the worst contracts in the league and a promising 2nd baseman.

Why would Boston trade two guys with incredible potential who are proven at the MLB level for an injury prone power hitter, an aging veteran with large contract?

Worst trade I have seen. Judge is five times more valuable than those three combined. Heyward has negative value. In what way does this trade help the Yankees or Red Sox for that matter. If by cool you mean ripping off the cpu then sure it is real cool. This thread is made for people that do not want to rip off the cpu.
