Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion
Some Mychal Givens trades I've come up with.
4 years of control + prime years = 33.67
Dodgers = $30.70
Alex Verdugo (15.50) + Mitchell White (9.2) + Yadier Alvarez (6)
Cubs= $25
Adbert Alzolary (6) + Atamis Ademan (5.5) + Jose Albertos (6) + David Bote
Phillies = 33.10
Sixto Sanchez (23.90) + Adonis Medina (9.2)
Cardinals = $29.30
Jack Flaherty (17.30) + Tyler O'Neil (12)
Astros = $31.95
J.B. Bakauskas (10.75) + Yordan Alvarez (15.50) + Cionel Perez (6)
Braves = $28.50
Mike Soroka (17.30) + Ian Anderson (10.75)
The Phillies and Braves trades are moreso for 2019 years when they're competing and need a good reliever. Trade for the now and future.Comment

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion
Colorado fan might want to weigh in but I think the Rockies value Dahl far more than Tapia. I think they see him as a staple in the future.Comment

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion
I figured Braves and Phillies we're ling shots.
The Dodgers we're be a battle to figure out. Take out Alvarez for a lottery ticket and discussion changes.Comment

Good enough, I'll stick with Tapia. Thanks!2025 Expos Expansion:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...gid=1295163793Comment

Speaking of player value.
Griffin Canning moving into the Top 100 really fudged up my potential Angel trades.Comment

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion
Here are some deals I have looked at:
Smoak (13.2) to Colorado for Pint (15.1 value). Smoak is hitting .324 with 20 homers so he will be valuable for the Rockies at Coors field. Otherwise, looking at Hamson + Castellani.
Pillar (52 surplus) to SF for Chris Shaw +/- SP prospect like Suarez. Otherwise, maybe Aramis Garcia, Heliot Ramos/Austin Slater and a lottery ticket? Not familiar with the Giants system so will need help with this. Only Ramos is on the spreadsheet with 24.1 value. I could also add Jaime Garcia (close to 4) as an added bonus to get a little more from them and allow them to fill two positions of need.
Morales for Adrian Gonzalez, Desmond Lindsay. I’ll take on Agon to get something of value for Morales (batting around. .300 with 17 HR) if possible. I also looked at Cleveland but couldn’t be sure of what to take back.

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion
I wasn’t under the impression I could land a Soto level ‘spect for JD, but if we’re calling this trade even, I would like to work something out between the Nats and Jays along these same lines. My math or methodology could be off (and if so, let me know), but could something like:
Donaldson + pen arm for Soto + 10-20 ‘spect (x2) work here? JD is outperforming Bards Machado, Rendon & the pen are struggling and Rendon would slide to 2nd base, Murphy into the outfield in all likelihood. I think this works as well as this agreed upon trade, without the same-state tax for the Nats, plus they get a ‘pen arm.Comment

$13 million. He was a 45fv preseason and he's a hard throwing relief pitcher who's allergic to striking anyone out

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion
Hey guys, so quick question about how we’re tabulating surplus value + a proposed deal of my own. I’m thinking of loading up for the Vlad era as the Jays, so Donaldson is likely on the move. On our spreadsheet, we have Machado higher than Donaldson. However, using bWAR, I’m getting a higher mark for JD, even taking their salary discrepancy into account.

To add to this, I don't think Washington is as motivated to go after a guy like Donaldson as they would be to get a guy like Machado who is younger and has a budding relationship with the guy Washington is desperately hoping to resign.Comment
