Very true. It is going to be a difficult task to find somewhere that Morales could even fit. Cleveland may be one option as I alluded to in an earlier post but most teams either don't have the need or will go somewhere more reliable than Morales.

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion

In my franchise, I like to make trades at the deadline for other teams who are rebuilding and contenders needing the that one piece to make a run at it.

This has led me to the Mets. Its mid-June and they are 15 games backs of the Nats in the division and 8 out of the wild card. In 2018 they were out of it by July and they were dead last in nearly every offensive category and same so far in 2019.

I am thinking of trading one of DeGrom or Syndergaard to start their rebuild. Both had typically years in 2018 with ERAs below 3 and WHIPs under 1.15. My rough estimates of their values have them over 150 mil. Am I correct with that?

Not sure if my math is correct, but I'm getting $91.47M for DeGrom and $163.5M for Syndergaard.

With that being said could the Yankees trade Florial, Sheffield, Abreu or Adams and Hicks for DeGrom? What would need to be added for Syndergaar if the DeGrom trade works?

In my opinion, I see the Mets as almost another division rival so I would add that division tax to any potential trades I'd make with them, but that's just me.

Looking for a lefty killing outfield/1B with a bit of team control for the Rays as everyone they have except Ramos is better against righties and the Red Sox keep murdering me with their 4 lefty rotation!
26 year old "prospect" that was the 13th overall pick five years ago.

At one point he was a very highly regarded prospect, but now he definitely had lost a lot of shine...this doesn't appear to be a Judge type of situation at least.

Giving him very generic ARB numbers and deterioration rating as well I come out to him having ~$20 million in surplus.

Padres would still be asking for a bottom top 100 prospect, you say no way Jose, they settle for two lotto tickets or potentially a MLB ready arm.

Just so unlikely the Mets deal one of their aces to the Yankees in all honesty. If it were to happen it would be an arm and a leg plus your soul.

                Gleyber + Sheffield + Florial

                $81.4 + $32.2 + $37.6

That's $151.2 million in surplus. Three top 50 prospects with one being a top 5 prospect. You might be able to keep one of Sheffield or Florial by adding in Abreu + Adams.

Think Chris Sale or Jose Quintana. It's going to start with elite prospects and build from there

That is probably correct. I probably overestimated DeGrom with not realizing he is over 30.

That is kind of what I was worried about. Personally I do not view Gleyber as a prospect anymore since in a week or two he will have to much service time to be a prospect which at that point do you take his WAR to this point in the season and estimate it out to find his value?

Everything I read says the Mets won't do it but most feel they need to consider if the Yankees were to overpay.

Too small of a sample size unfortunately. Still regard him as a prospect in deals until next year for me at least.

If you don't view Gleybar as a prospect and therefore not available for trade how would you suggest the Yankee acquire such elite arms?

Because I do not view him as the only elite prospect in the system. I think alot of teams view Florial being a 5 tool guy that is going to be elite. But I do know that is my opinion and maybe not everyone is in love with him as the Yankees are. I was just taking a stab at making a trade for a SP without giving up my everyday second baseman.

No I didn't mean it as a bad thing. Just how would you suggest getting it done without Gleybar? While the Yankees might love Florial, we have to use prospect lists because we aren't experts and MLB has Florial 41, Fangraphs has him 79 and I don't have a Baseball America membership so I can't tell but frankly he just isn't "good" enough to headline for Thor or deGrom. Sale got the #1 prospect as a headliner. Quintana got the #4 prospect as a headliner. You will have to do something similar to get those aces
