    didnt see anyone answer this:

Realmuto value is 75.85 million, if you were going to trade him in division to the nats(rumored for awhile now) would that add 20mil to his value like Machado to the Yankees?

Yes . I believe you would since it's a trade within the division. There might be a few examples of this within this thread

That was my understanding at the time of the Machado discussions, that any and all trades within a division would add an automatic $20 million to values.

Yeah, I might very well be wrong, but that was my understanding when all that discussion was going down, that for any trade inside a division, you would an additional $20 million to the value of whoever you were trading for, as an inner-division trade tax if you will.

Earlier in this thread someone answered my question about trading Ryan Braun and threw out Profar as an option.

With my Brewers franchise I ended up trading Braun (who I changed position back to LF) to the Astros for B level prospect JB Bukauskas. I tried to follow the charts on the front page and even subtracted some value from Braun for his age.

It seemed like a solid deal both ways. How’d I do?

Edit - for what it is worth I am using default contracts so Braun's contract is ~6 mill

Red Sox fan perspective (bias included) - If you slide in cleats up, you should expect to get beaned. Take your base and its over. Austin escalated things by charging the mound.

Would the Rockies realistically trade for Justin Smoak around the deadline if they were in contention and wasn't getting any first base production? I'm just thinking ahead.

Astros 9 in your response too Would the Rockies realistically trade for Justin Smoak around the deadline if they were in contention and wasn't getting any first base production? I'm just thinking ahead.

As a Blue Jays fan if they are out of contention I think Donaldson and Smoak are up for grabs. I could see Houston making the move to get production as they are contending and there is no long term commitment with Smoak that would stop them from signing the guys they have in the future.

What would it take for the Giants to trade for either Miggy Cabera or josh Donaldson. Belt would be included in the deal. Using osfm rosters. Thank you

I know the Jays don’t trade Donaldson for belt just doesn’t make sense if the Jays are trading Donaldson it’s to help retool slash rebuild it would be prospect like The OF Ramos going back to Toronto you could then trade Belt in a separate deal to recoup some value. To the Yankees for Florial or the Cardinals for Kelly or Flaherty may make sense.

Would it be possible for the Cards to put together a package to get Strohman? Any way to work him and Donaldson in a deal or would the only way to get Donaldson be the deal with Estrada.
