It gives Atlanta another top 50 position player and gives the Blue Jays a future starting pitcher
I actually like this trade not gonna lie, Soroka is down to a B potential now right?

Number 1 rule they say on prospects always take the hitter they usually pan out more predictably than pitchers, plus like you say Atlanta has pitching prospect depth.

Acuna + Alford could lock down 2/3 of their OF for years.

I like it, not even looking at values or anything.

I think he is a high B but I could be mistaken. I just thought they get an everyday player and have loads of pitching prospects.
Soroka is Canadian and can play for the Blue Jays the team he grew up cheering for at that point. I know on the value spread sheet they had Alford at 37.6 and Soroka at 32 but Soroka is the 32nd ranked by mlb and Alford is the 47th So I figured straight up would make sense at that point even though technically one is ranked higher and one is valued higher. Just wanted to make sure it made sense to somebody before I pulled the trigger! Thanks for the feedback man

I love it without even thinking about the values, nice out the ordinary thinking I think benefits both teams.

He's actually worth a decent amount. Milwaukee would have to deal Keston Hiura and Corbin Burnes. Although I'd probably like to have that followed up on. Walker's value is pretty high and we have him going straight up for Top 30 Prospects on our Log.
If that'd work that would be awesome

Yes, I’ve also used his roster and it is based off of Osfm v1.5

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion

Okay, so I picked the Rockies for a franchise, and I'm realizing I have a good problem. But it's still a problem that needs to be dealt with.

I'm going to do whatever it takes to lock down Arenado, Blackmon, Story. That's non-negotiable and hardline. LeMahieu and Charlie are due to become FAs at the end of the year so I don't have to worry about stretching everything thin yet (Arenado and Story may break me, but hopefully I'll have more team controlled players in the majors next season). I would like to keep DJ but with Brendon Rodgers I'm not sure how logical that would be, but he's going nowhere soon.

Every other starter isn't in the picture. Iannetta, Desmond, Parra, and CarGo are all going to be given away to the highest bidder.

My hang up is, for the most part I have the next in line already in place. Tony Wolters is in the majors at C (25 y/o, 70 OVR, B POT) and Ryan McMahon starting at 1st (23, 63, A). On the bench I have OF Mike Tauchmann (27, 62, B) and Pat Valaika (25, 68, B) at middle infield.

What gets tricky is that I have SS Brendan Rodgers (21,70,A), OF David Dahl (24,73,A), and Jordan Patterson (26, 65, B) in the minors waiting for a call.

The obvious move is to ship the four on the trading block for pitching prospects, but I want to get some second opinions.

                    1) Parra is the best player/most likely to get the highest return on the trading block (30, 81, C) mostly because a lot of teams are starting OF under an 81. Should I try to deal him at the end of April (yeah I'm playing the ****ty contract game) or hold off until the deadline? Does the game recognize that contenders need to shore up holes? This is my first year playing so I'm not sure about the second part.

                    2) Should I keep Tauchmann and Valaika in my system or should I spurn them when I feel it's time to call up one of their superiors from the minors? Both are team controlled until at least next season.

                    3) At what point is too much pitching in return? What kind of pitchers to position player ratio should I be angling for? The Rockies' current rotation isn't the Nationals but they're all 28 or younger and four are still showing B potential. You can never had too much pitching but everyone not named Chad Bettis is going to be hard to part with.

                    4) Piggybacking off of that, given how much of "the future" I have in mind in the field how do I go about selecting position prospects? Should I just go for as high potential as possible and ignore current overall or specific position?

I got -15.44 Mil surplus for Kendrys Morales. How far off is that? I’ve been trying to use the formula by my own by I somehow always get a different value then what’s in the log.

Thanks man. I usually get sorta close, typically within 10 mil. Do you know what I did wrong?-

                          2017 WAR:- -0.2 x 6= -1.2
                          2016 WAR: 1.0 x 3= 3
                          2015 WAR: 2.4 x 1= 2.4

                          -1.2+3+2.4= 4.2

                          4.2/10= 0.42 WAR

                          0.42 x 9 x 2= 7.56

                          7.56 - 23 (contract)= -15.44 mil surplus
