I don't necessarily disagree with that sentiment. If we're working off a surplus and production, Cano is still doing his job and doing it well. But as I said before and as you've followed up, age is a real concern here. 24 Mill for Cano this season, great. 24 at 40, not so good at all. Age and degrading ability are just really hard indicators to evaluate because everyone ages differently. Beltre is still balling out at 38 but surely that has to taper off soon. Is Cano playing like Beltre at 38 or he is another in a long list of guys who saw a steep falloff after 35. It's something for us to consider in these deals but I don't know how far we can go in adjusting worth. If that makes sense.

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion
I just did Miguel Cabrera's surplus and WOW is it bad in case anyone ever wonders. It is an astonishing -108 million. That also does not include the two years of mutual contract years because there is noway the tigers will pick those up.Comment

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion
I saw a article on fangraphs talking about aging curve, and that a player who ages normally will lose about .5 WAR per season after 30.
So maybe we can use that some how.
Take the avg war and if a player is going to be 30 or already over 30 subtract .5 for every contracted year past 30?

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion
Starting new KC franchise but want to see if there is any trade opportunity thank I could consider to get Acuna from the Braves. Probably nothing realistic, but wanted to ask the experts.

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion
2017: -.1 x 6 = -.6
2016: .7 x 3 = 2.1
2015: 2.8 x 1 = 2.8
2.8+2.1+.6= 4.3 divided by 3 = 1.43 WARComment
