MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion
DANNY DUFFY
2017 WAR: 3.3 x 6 = 19.8
2016 WAR: 3.7 x 3 = 11.1
2015 WAR: 1.5 x 1 = 1.5
19.8 + 11.1 + 1.5 = 32.4
32.4/10 = 3.24 WAR
3.24 x 9 (1 WAR Worth) x 4 (remaining contract years) = 116.6 Value
116.6 - 60 (remaining contract) = 56.6M SurplusComment

It’s enough to get you a 25-50 prospect and a 75-100 prospect. Others might think that is a bit too much but depending on the team, it could work.Comment

I don’t know if Bard wants to use that method for sure but I think it’s solid. That number for Cano is far, far more reasonable. It’s still a single prospect between 25-50 or two prospects between 75-100. For a team who is going for a World Series (you better be if you’re trading for that contract), it’s a steep but not back-breaking amount to pay.
Edit: By solid, I mean it looks realistic. I haven’t done the numbers myself yet but I’m sure you got it right.Comment

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion
I know its a prospect for prospect deal which doesnt happen a lot in baseball but I was wondering if this trade works slash makes sense to anyone else. I was thinking with Atlanta in rebuild mode and having a lot of pitching depth would and Alford for Soroka deal be out of the question? It gives Atlanta another top 50 position player and gives the Blue Jays a future starting pitcherComment

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion
Taijuan Walker Surplus: 73.3M (Assuming SAL of 5.5M last two seasons)
He's actually worth a decent amount. Milwaukee would have to deal Keston Hiura and Corbin Burnes. Although I'd probably like to have that followed up on. Walker's value is pretty high and we have him going straight up for Top 30 Prospects on our Log.Comment
