Do you think I can get both BAL RP at the deadline if they are out of the race? I figure it might be expensive.I would rather get those 2 instead of Nate Jones

Should be able to Brach is one that's rather on the expensive side though, add O'Day and it could cost some top prospects.

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion

Alright all. It's 2:15 in the morning and I just got done filtering through all sixty-nine pages in this thread about three times. I believe I've found all of the discussed surplus values but I could have missed some. I've added a pretty nifty (IMO) new tab to the Realistic Trades log that documents all established surplus values in the thread so it's easier to find that information going forward. I'm super proud of all of the efforts that have been poured into the thread this year. Guys like Bard, Yankees247, HighComp and etc. have all taken their time to aide in a lot of people's franchises and it's leading to a far more robust and informative experience for everyone this year. I hope the log will continue to be a good source of knowledge.

Keep in mind, it's late and I finished my energy drink (Moonshot ftw) hours ago so there could be some issues you find with player positioning. If so, let me know and I'll correct it as I find time. Additionally, pay no mind to where players are placed in pitching ranking (SP1, SP2, RP1, RP2, Etc.) as I'm not familiar with every single team's rotation order and will mark that info as time passes. Eventually, I hope to do another tab identifying surplus value for the Top 50 Prospects in baseball. Zero promises on that as it will be a lot of work and I'm admittedly not as great with the math as others are. If you have forgotten the link to the Log or it is simply the first time you're checking it out, it can be found in my signature as well as the first post in this thread. The first tab identifies realistic trades that have been approved in this thread, whereas the second tab identifies established surplus. Let me know if you have any questions. With that, I'm going to go greet my pillow. If I fall, don't bring me back.

That is some really amazing work, so thank you very much for all your time and effort. I know for me it will be heavily used and will be very very helpful. Thank you to everyone taking your time helping out all of us on this thread.

Hey, I know you use a formula to determine an MLB player's trade value, but how do you determine the quality of the prospects you can get in return?
                MLB: New York Yankees
                NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers
                NHL: New York Rangers
                NBA: New York Knicks

I am also curious how you get the Surplus Value projects for prospects that don’t have any data for WAR metrics. We have numbers for guys like Acuna but how are you guys getting your projections?

What is Danny Duffy's value ? The royals were willing to move him during the off season so I think I wanna do that. I just have to find a team he would fit in

What kind of value would Anthony Rendon and Victor Robles have? what would Washington have to give up to get Machado? Thanks

Was wondering what the value on a couple of the following players are
                        Tex Deshields
                        SD Pirela

Both have arb years left and I dont know how to calculate value with arb players

Do most of you guys play with real contracts or default? In the OSFM roster thread I read that real contracts mess up the computer AI but based on discussion in these threads it seems like most people are using real contracts.

                            Hey guys,

I don't quite follow MLB as most of you, so please don't be offended by my questions.

I'm still in the process of picking my team (while waiting for OSFM Hybrid) and, since I'm not a very good player, am leaning towards the Cubs. I don't intend to use 30-team control, as I don't have enough knowledge about the teams and players for it to be relevant. I do however want to keep things as realistic as possible for MY team. So the question is (and sorry if it has been asked before, I searched the topic and couldn't find anything):

Do you guys see any scenario in which the Cubs could TRADE (not wait for Free Agency) for Bryce Harper and/or Noah Syndergaard ? If so, what package would you suggest and under which circumstances ? Can it be done without touching to Rizzo, Bryant or Contreras ?

Again, sorry if this suggestion sounds absurd. I just don't know enough about MLB in general to be any kind of judge.

How would you compare o’day and brach to Doolittle and Madison on the Nationals. I’m thinking of a deal similar to that deal where they sent a RP and 2 prospects back to OAK. It would be similar to OAK because they are sending their closer and setup man. Would something like Zack Wheeler, Andres Gimenez, Marcus Molina be enough? Or do I need to add or take away someone? I think Gimenez is definitely part of any potential deal so it gives them a SS of the future and I already have Rosario already.
