Playing with Dodgers and not real happy with the bottom of my rotation. Any ideas of who would be good to sign or trade for?

This trade makes no sense. why would the rays want another closer? why would they need a closer anyway? what is he gonna close?

Looking to trade Kevin Siegrist and idk his value he's 28y/o 79ovr B potential. I really want Monte Harrison but i don't think thats very realistic at all.

I have a deal worked out

        Bos acquires: Siegrist, lotto ticket

        Pit acquires: Bryan Mata

rationale he'd be top 5 in the bullpen for Boston and I don't have a need for him anymore.

Freddy Galvis trade value? D’Backs need a SS and are 0.5 behind the second WC spot. What kind of value should he command?

We’ve broached a few options in the trade spreadsheet if you wanted to take a look at it. Chris Archer, Julio Teheran and Taijuan Walker are three viable options.

You could do a three way trade with Texas and Atlanta.

            LAD Receive: Julio Teheran
            TEX Receive: Hyun-Jin Ryu
ATL Receive: Jurickson Profar + Lottery Player from LAD

Don't think you get a real prospect for a middle of the bullpen guy, more likely a lottery ticket. (even with the added lottery ticket)

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion

I'm interested to hear feedback on this trade idea.

Orioles Send: Chris Davis and Kevin Gausman to SF
Giants Send: Brandon Belt and Jeff Samardzija to BAL

The combined contracts of Belt and Samardzija equal $118M
Chris Davis has $115 left on his deal.

Orioles would be able to get 2 players at the price of Davis
Giants would get the power bat that they have been looking for if Davis rebounds. Rumors are they were interred in Davis when he was a free agent.
Giants also get Gausman to put in the rotation and Samardzija is coming of a down year.

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion

Personally I wouldn't do this trade if I was SF.

Gausman isn't that great, and any kind of bounce back from that innings eater Samardzija would be better than probably anything from Gausman.

Also to me Chris Davis basically has no trade value, his contract is too big and he's basically just Chris Carter with a big contract.

Belt is still got youth and has showed he could still grow at the plate and improve even more.

Since SF has already made their big money moves in Longoria and McCutchen I don't see them really trying to get in a position to try and a another big contract, especially with MadBum coming up next year (I think) and only cutting what 3mil in payroll isn't enough incentive.

At least that's my view my man.

Yea the thing is its not another big contract. They already owe the money to Belt and Samardzija. McCutchen and Longoria don't have the power Davis does. They were looking for power all offseason that's why they were in on Stanton. They were going to take his entire contract.

Belt is good when healthy. He lost the last 2 months of last year with concussion issues.

Gausman has a lot of upside. If he got out of the AL East and went to the NL West he could improve quite a bit. We saw what happened after the O's traded Arrieta.

Belt and Samardzija both had a drop in value last year. Davis is what he is and Gausman has plenty of upside.

This this trade is basically a gamble on rebounds/upside for both teams involved.

I didn't exactly mean that as taking on a large contract in Davis.

I meant I don't see them doing that to make room for another players large contract.

It just really seems like a lateral move for SF when they are way more in a push mode.

Not to mention that it really isn't that great a move for BAL.

A pitcher no one really wants and they both are really kinda too old to fit into the rebuilding they are about to have to do after losing Machado.

I guess I don't really see where either team would pull this trigger.

The O's do it to get rid of Davis and his contract quite frankly. He's a sunk cost at this point.

The ONLY way they ever get him off the roster is doing a trade like this where you take on an equal amount of money. He strikes out rate was over 30% last year. The whole Oriole lineup is built around the home run.

For the O's Belt doesn't strike out as much and is a better contact hitter.

The Giants need a power hitter and Davis is still a threat whenever he steps up to the plate.

It really is a lateral move but each team is taking a gamble.

O's gamble on Belt's health and Samardzija doing more then eating innings. The Giants gamble on Davis bouncing back and Gausman improving.
