Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion
Bard, do you have an issue with any of these? If not, I'm going to add them to the log for additional trades. These were in response to somebody looking to complete some deals in their Franchise.
KC REC: Jo Adell, Kevin Maitan, Griffin Canning
LAA REC: Danny Duffy, Michael Gigliotti
I'm pretty sure this works. LA's best prospects are position players but KC without question would want Canning to make up for the arm they're losing so we even the deal out by sending a position player in Gigliotti back there way.
DET REC: Ronald Acuna, Mike Soroka, Luiz Gohara, Max Fried, Austin Riley
ATL REC: Michael Fulmer, Nicholas Castellanos
Okay. This is the first Fulmer trade that I've felt good about. Fulmer is amongst the most expensive in baseball right now. He's also one of the only bright spots on a fairly depleted and beat up Detroit roster right now. He is going to cost a haul. I almost don't care what anyone else has to say about Acuna, in my opinion, there is no deal without him. ATL has to be GOING for it to do this trade. Castellanos makes up for the starting outfielder Atlanta is losing in Acuna but Atlanta has to part with 5 total Top 100 prospects to swing this deal. You might wait for affirmation from somebody else on if they think this works too.
CWS REC: Seth Romero, Luis Garcia
WAS REC: Nate Jones
I could be undervaluing Chicago's return.
MIA REC: JB Bukauskus, Yordan Alvarez, David Paulino
HOU REC: Kyle Barraclough
I think this is solid. Miami retools with two future rotation arms and Yordan who can either play a corner outfield spot or fill in for the inevitably dealt Bour at First Base. Houston gets a pretty highly sought relief arm.
MIL REC: Juan Soto, Wil Crowe
WAS REC: Keon Broxton
I honestly don't like these two as trade partners. The National's best prospects are all in positions in which Milwaukee is deep in talent. I could see a swap for Soto if Milwaukee also intended to deal Santana. But yeah, I don't like the match much and don't feel overly confident in what I came up with.Comment

I mean, yes, but I am not too sure as to why you would! Haha.

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion
So I'm starting something with the reds. I want to start where they should have a while ago. Feel like Votto deserves a chance at winning something. A top 5 hitter in the league shouldn't be on a bottom feeder. Looking at possibilities the Dodgers or Cleveland could be a fit. What can I look at in return?Comment

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion
Yankees need some help with that rotation. I'm thinking pulling another Yankees - Marlins trade this time for Wei Yin Chen. The value I'm getting for him is -50.68 mill if his option is picked up and -34.68 if it isn't picked up. Are these numbers correct?
I know the Marlins would be happy to get rid of that contract but would the Yankees realistically be ok with taking on that much money. Also would I be looking at giving a lotto ticket or maybe a bad contract swap.Comment

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion
What would I (Toronto) have to give up to get Tyler Glasnow from the Pirates? He’s a full time reliever now with great stuff but awful control.
I like pitching with him and think he’d be good in my pen. He’s still pre-arb and has potential so I’m expecting a steep price, just curious what kind of prospect it’d take.
Thanks!Comment

I'm looking to get prospects back. Just want to build for the future. Also having a hard time finding who would be a good partner. Would the yanks or twins have interest?Comment

With that said, you can get a better package from Colorado than what you've created. I need a little help discerning value on Tapia from Bard or Yankee. He was once a Top 75 Prospect but that was 2016 and his star has faded some in the big leagues. Kind of like a Frazier but on a smaller level. There is probably another piece or so to be added to this deal so that it makes sense for both parties. Desmond I would pull from the deal, I get why you're adding him but you don't need too. He has -30M in surplus so all he does by being included in the deal is change your return from a good healthy return to an insane return that I don't think Colorado can fulfill. I would suggest we wait to hear back but if you're just really wanting to dive into your franchise, pull the trigger on Realmuto and Bour to Colorado for a return of Rodgers, Pint, Tapia and a lottery.

New York Yankees

Cleveland Indians
Minnesota Twins
Los Angeles Angels
The biggest problem here is that Votto is worth so much, you're talking about an extreme return that only certain teams can afford or would even be willing to approach. Truthfully, I think the only realistic option for Votto is New York. Minnesota would probably be second but I can't fathom them moving so much of their farm for a 34 year old first baseman. Their window is far too open. New York, being New York, can replenish their talent through Free Agency when Votto is done.
I think this is the best deal I can come up with for Cincinnati and New York.
New York Receives: Votto | Gutierrez
Cincinnati Receives: Bird | Torres | Florial | Sheffield | Adams
That is technically an underpay from New York believe it or not. I just can't personally see Votto pulling anything more than that. I think most Yankee fans would see that and firmly stick by Bird at first base. But Votto does solidify a "down" position for the Yankees and probably solidifies them as the biggest threat in the AL. We can wait to hear back on this one but I think it's about as fair a deal as we're going to see on Votto.Comment

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion
I think this is a pretty good move for both teams to be honest. I say that in terms of matchmaking. You're giving up roughly 113M in Surplus between Realmuto and Bour. Both guys play a somewhat need position in Colorado.

Thanks man, I’ll see what bard and yankee say

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion
MIA Receives: Brendan Rodgers, Ian Desmond, Pint and/or Tapia
Realmuto and Bour are worth a combined 114 mill
Rodgers Desmond pint and tapia are worth 60 mill with tapia being worth an estimated 10 million which means the rockies would have to give up more to make the deal or take out desmond which still doesnt get you 100% of the way there but I would say IMO IRL the Marlins would do Realmuto and Bour for Rodgers, pint and Tapia.Comment

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion
I was wondering if the values I got on a few tigers was right?
I got -50 Mil for J.Zimmerman and -106 for M.Cabrera
Was also wondering if a team wanted Fulmer and was willing to take on Cabrera's contract assuming I did the math right would only have to give Det a package worth 58 Mil?
Also wondering if this would be realistic at all I just imagine with the state of the Tigers they would do almost anything to move Cabrera at this point.Comment
