Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion

Im starting a franchise with the orioles. What would be teams that cpuld realistically trade for Manny Machado, eighter in spring training or before the trade deadline.

Im pretty new to baseball. And dont want to make a super unrealistic trade or just cheat the game and get as much as the game allows me.

I know the yankees are an option are there any more teams?

Go to page one of the thread and click on the link and there are a bunch of trade options that will open up in an excel file

Just a thought, but If I take back Waino in a Donaldson to the Cards deal, how much does that move the bar towards getting Reyes? Saw the Donaldson for O'Neill/Greene, but I've got solid outfield depth right now. Willing to deal from that depth as well if needed to get a deal done.

I'm doing a pirates franchise and am looking to strengthen my bullpen. My bullpen has barely been used, but ik they are a weak group to begin with. Any ideas? I signed Trevor Rosenthal to a 2-year deal but won't bring him up until 2019 and do have Kevin seigrest in the minors but was looking for a power righty to pair with Felipe Rivero.

I'm also looking to upgrade at 3rd base. Wouldn't mind trading Colin Moran.

so this is a little bit tricky in the fact that swihart has been hurt for the past 2 years, but the good part is that swihart can catch and play the outfield and they are working on getting him reps in the infield. I think 2 high C prospects or a low B would work but again his value right now is low. When you get to the deadline put his stats in here since teams would want him to have played some games to determine a market value for him

As the marlins in looking to upgrade at SS and LF. I've thought about moving castro over to SS and moving Dietrich over to 2nd and trading for ellsbury but then castro gets injured for a few weeks. So now I'm looking at Marcus siemian, Aaron Altherr, Yasmany Tomas, and nick Ahmed. I just want someone that can fill in at short because Miguel Rojas defensive is atrocious. And I also feel like it's better to have Dietrich be able to move all over the field. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I think most would agree with me that you can throw a mid-level lottery pick at Arizona for Tomas. His WAR has been his greatest enemy, he just got a demotion to AAA and he has a huge contract. Arizona I think would be happy to send him to Miami. Ellsbury is a similar scenario because of his contract. Send them Zac Gallen and Brian Miller for Jacoby Ellsbury and Dillon Tate. Unless somebody else disagrees with that sentiment.

Semien and Ahmed are going to require you to deal from your prospects. Ahmed is the cheaper of the two. You might be looking at Isan Diaz and a lottery pick or two for either of those guys. Honestly, have you thought about playing Riddle to see if you like his defense more? He's a bit better than Rojas and I'd personally rather try playing with him than dealing from my farm for either of Semien or Ahmed when Miami is already in a rebuilding stage.

The calling up riddle and trading for a LF seems like the best option to me. If I were going to trade for a SS it'd be a very low tierd MLB player just to feel as a stop gap. Could I do a salary swap of Ellsbury and Chen and still get prospects?

In 2015 I'd say that is a deal NY considers but I honestly don't think that would work now. Somebody else might disagree.

You know another low cost opportunity at SS is calling up Texas about Profar. He is kind of hard to evaluate though, maybe take a look at the log and throw something comparable together.

Profar can play all over the places and switch hits. Could I do a deal around Dietrich and Straily for profar?

I'm away from my computer but you could probably do a straight up for Straily.

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion

I'm looking to move some players around in my Franchise, both with Texas and other teams to create an active deadline and to expand on our Realistic Trade Log. Let me get some criticism on these deals.

Manny Machado to St. Louis Cardinals
                                STL Receives: Manny Machado
BAL Receives: Jack Flaherty | Tyler O'Neill | Yairo Munoz

Consideration: St. Louis would make every effort to resign Machado.

Josh Donaldson to New York Yankees
                                NYY Receives: Josh Donaldson
TOR Receives: Justus Sheffield | Thairo Estrada

                                Michael Fulmer to Milwaukee Brewers
MIL Receives: Michael Fulmer | Alex Wilson
DET Receives: Keon Broxton | Corbin Burnes | Keston Hiura | Brett Phillips

Shin Soo Choo to Cleveland Indians
CLE Receives: Shin Soo Choo | Michael O'Neill
                                TEX Receives: Conner Capel

Consideration: Cash dump from Texas. Exchanging lottery tickets who were born in each team's State. Choo gives Cleveland an extra outfield/DH piece. Choo was an Indian from 2006-2012 so there is an established relationship.

                                Ian Happ to Texas Rangers
TEX Receives: Ian Happ | Jason Heyward
CHI Receives: Delino DeShields Jr. | Carlos Tocci | Luis Marte

Consideration: Texas is primarily interested in acquiring Ian Happ as a future outfield piece. Thus they're willing to take on Heyward's contract and will primarily use him in the vacant DH spot formerly filled by Choo. Chicago receives a starter in DeShields Jr. to replace Happ, a high-level lottery outfield pice in Tocci and potential utility man in Marte (down the road). This is done with the expectation that Chicago will clear out cap space for a run at Bryce Harper.

Paul Goldschmidt to New York Yankees
NYY Receives: Paul Goldschmidt | Yasmany Tomas
ARI Receives: Greg Bird | Estevan Florial | Miguel Andujar | Chance Adams

Consideration: Arizona decides to recoup and plan for a rebuild by dealing Goldschmidt to the Yankees. They're willing to take a smaller return to rid themselves of Yasmany's contract.

AJ Pollock to Chicago White Sox
                                CHI Receives: AJ Pollock
ARI Receives: Lucas Giolito | Blake Rutherford
