Re: MLB The Show 19 Wishlisht

New Free Agency system or a bidding war system to add into free agency.

I entered into Free Agency in the 2nd season with Marlins. I need a 2B. Anthony Rendon and Jonathan Schoop are available.

    I offer Schoop 4 years 55.15m

Sim 3 days, checking each day to see if a bid pops up, checked the 3rd day, still no bid, sim one more, day and BAM Schoop accepts a 5 year deal with the Orioles. WHAT??? What the hell?

Okay no biggie, Schoop had a bad season last year. Let's get Rendon.

    4 years 54m.

3 days again, checking each day, still nothing on the 3rd day. oop, 4th day, Nats are outbidding me by 2m. No biggie, up him to 58m and add a player option.

    Sim one more day

BAM. 5 years 70m with the Rangers.

I gave up at that point. That is just bs.

This might be somewhere in the thread, but please stop using BP Uniforms with the numbers on the sleeve and none on the back. As a Yankees fan I really want to use the blue BP unis when I play some games, but it just looks so weird when the players have no numbers on their back.

Use ST uniforms instead. If a team only has one it's an excuse to add another retro uniform.

Re: MLB The Show 19 Wishlisht

I've been playing this game for many years now, I do enjoy it but I feel that it's lagged behind considerably on the innovation of the sport it represents in general. I believe there are plenty of areas this game could certainly improve to make it at the very least more current.

I play only offline franchise in all sports games and it seems that with the more lucrative online modes and single player career modes developers have been giving much less attention to franchise modes (other than 2K which has been referenced a number of times in this thread).

NBA 2K has created an amazing sandbox like franchise mode as a great template for console games but it's not without its flaws as well. With that said I think MLB: the show should look a little more closer to home for a way to improve their franchise. Of all the games I've played over the years OOTP baseball has the absolute best franchise mode of any game around. The depth and true to life options are amazing.
OOTP does a great job at replicating when things happen during the season, roster size is accurate, the many levels of the minors are there. So many of the franchise options many people have asked for in this thread are in OOTP. If the devs could incorporate the many options from OOTP and put them in a console game.

We need real all-star game rosters, with accurate number of players and accurate player types (stop putting just t starters and all closers as the remaining pitchers).

Middle relievers need to be able to win reliever of the year award. Awards in general need a overhaul. More errors altogether, when I look at gold glove award voting there are a number of players with extremely high fielding accuracy. Even some of the games perennial gold glove winners didn't have fld% as high as some of these players.

MAKE MANAGERS MATTER!! In the current system MANAGERS are just there for likeness and the arbitrary ratings boost or decreases you get from them. These managers should have career records and season outcomes that are viewable. They should definitely have gameplans or managerial styles in the game. Some mgrs still be live in a running a little more while some don't run at all. Some mgrs have completely abandoned hunts some haven't. Some mgrs believe an out is an out and want their players swinging for the fences. With mgrs have sliders to determine gameplans this would give the game more life. There should be sliders to govern this. There should also be GMs. In some cases the GMs view and roster construction should not always be aligned with the mgrs strengths or strategies.

Can you please fix your WAR calculator.

Baseball is a stats lovers haven, yet so many are missing from this game especially the sabermetrics that have taken over the game recently. Exit velo and launch angle are two things that have become somewhat important having these numbers in the game (always and not just for specific hits during MLB network games) would add to immersion. Also it was mentioned by someone early, but we really need to get homerun distance back into the game. I shouldn't have to go into the gamelog to see the distance of a homerun.

Give players characteristics and tendencies (a la NBA 2K for this one). Currently the Red Sox have arguably the best two fastball hitters in baseball (Betts and JD), I'm sure there's a quirk for this in the game but quirks don't account for players who are first pitch swingers (Altuve is known for this). Pitchers who throw a ton of strikes, hitters with really good eyes that know when and when not to swing. There have been the same ratings in this game for years and I can't believe the devs haven't realized that it takes so much more to encompass what a baseball player truly is. Honestly if I was a pro player is be offended by the scant ratings in the first place.

I'm getting tired of typing but there's so much more I feel could and should be added to the game, but I'll just stop here.

Re: MLB The Show 19 Wishlisht

            1. Revamped Hitting Engine - hitting is just "off" for years and has been discussed on OS.

            2. Update Quirks - Quirks is a nice addition but more can be done with it. There should be an option to add or remove Quirks for players. There should also introduce Quirks that do not just effect ratings but also tendencies (i.e. gap hitters). Additionally, there should be Quirks that impact the whole team rather than the specific player. Catchers who frame pitchers better than others, Veteran Infielders who have the ability to boost young pitchers confidence, Veteran Players who can boost young hitters stats, etc...It makes the game deeper and a reason to sign a Veteran player or backup catcher who has the intangibles.

            3. Update Archetypes - another nice addition, but this also should exist for non RTTS players. All players in the game should fall into an Archetype. I also think an additional layer should be added which dictates where in the lineup the player hits. For example, Aaron Judge's expectation in Franchise is to be the Star of the team. The logic in the game is the Star of the team bats 3rd or 4th, but Judge bats 2nd and as a result it decreases his moral. If you make it part of the player profile as to where the player should bat in the order you do two things....#1 eliminate the player stats dictating where he hits and #2 helps the CPU make better lineups when randomizing batting orders. Similar to Fielding Positions there should be primary batting order and secondary in this example Judge's primary batting order should be 2nd with secondary being "middle of the order" which would be 3-4-5.

            4. Depth Charts - there should be a 40 man roster Depth Chart, this will allow the CPU to make better decisions of who to call up and down when there are injuries in Franchise Mode. Players should be able to be listed on the depth chart at multiple positions as well. This will help when injuries happen in Franchise, the CPU will be smart of who to call up. Example: If their 2B gets injured, and their back up 2B (as per depth chart) is someone on the bench that person should be the starter. However, if the backup is another starter than the depth chart should be used to determine if that starter should change positions to make room for someone else to fill the other position vacated. I know it could get messy, but if implemented right it could make things more realistic.

            5. Baserunner with Batting Gloves - I have been asking for this for years, oddest thing to be missing

For the love of all that is holy in baseball, please make it so we don’t constantly lose our number in Road to The Show.

Other than that, like pretty much every year I want to see major franchise overhaul. Very unlikely, but one can wish. I want to see updates throughout my game from around the league with instant replays. I can only imagine if, over the last 10 or so years, all the development time spent on Diamond Dynasty was put into franchise mode.

Losing your number gets annoying. It happens when someone with a higher overall on your team has that as their preferred number. Perhaps that could be adjusted in MLB 19.

                  6. Add Service Time to CAPs - it would be cool if every CAP could have service time and stats added for previous seasons. This would allow us to add rookies or redo player faces without losing service time. You can already import a CAP over an existing player so there should be option to inherit their service time or add/modify it altogether.

                  7. Adjust Hot/Cold Zones for CAPs - similar to #6 above it should be possible to edit this. I do not like how its randomized today for CAPs.

Can you elaborate? Quirks aren't equal today....Being a Bomber isn't the same as being a Pickoff Artist or Quick Reflexes.

Not sure what you mean that they should not all be equal, by their nature they aren't. Even when you have two players who have the same Quirk, their hit ratings are completely different.

Example: Altuve is a First Pitch Hitter but so is Stanton.
One has power in the 70s the other has power close to 99 (a Bomber), one rarely strikes out, the other has low vision/contact.

The combination of the quirks with their respective ratings causes the Quirk to behave differently for each.

Altuve is more likely to get a solid hit (his contact definitely went up, and granted his power is boosted maybe into the 80s?)
Stanton is more likely to hit a ball 500 feet (his low contact got a boost, but his outrageous power got a boost into the 100s?)

So again, although they are the same Quirk it plays out differently for different players.
....and this is all without taking their other Quirks into effect which would lower or raise their attributes more.

Bomber Tier 1 Bronze, Matt Kemp Tier 2 Silver Nolan Arenado Tier 3 Gold Giancarlo

Tiers with in the same quirk. NBA 2K does this and they are dynamic if you're cold you can go from gold to silver, if you're hot you can go from bronze to gold, it rises and falls within the game and throughout the season.

Re: MLB The Show 19 Wishlisht

                          1) History – In no other sport does the history of the game matter more, but The Show's lack thereof is a continuing embarrassment. We can check our user stats against the stats of players throughout history, but in a franchise we can't see the all-time top 10 list in homeruns? How does that make sense? We need all-time top 10 lists, year-by-year award lists (no 3-year stuff), milestone lists (3,000 hits; 500 homeruns; 300 wins; 400 saves; no-hitters; perfect games), a comprehensive Hall of Fame, etc. If you need help, look to NBA 2K for how they handle the history of basketball.

                          2) Player accolades – All star appearances, World Series titles, MVPs, League Leader notations, etc. to be listed on the player card. The fact that Madden has this, but The Show doesn't, is an embarrassment. If you want an idea of how to handle this, again look to NBA 2K.

                          3) Manager personalities – Enough of this -2 Contact, +2 bunting crap with the managers. We need real differences regarding team management. Each manager should have sliders regarding how often they shift, how dramatically they shift, how quick they pull starters, how quick they pull relievers, what type of rotation they use (3-man, 4-man, 6-man; this would make historic sims better). You could even have buffs on certain managers that are considered player managers (helping player morale) or strategic managers (helping player stats).

                          4) Off-season rule changes – Again, look to 2K (they are killing the management sim aspect of things). After year five, if we want to adopt (or kill) the DH, we should be able to do so. Want to eliminate September 40-man call-ups or the trade deadline? Again, we should be able to control that, or at least vote on these changes during the off-season.

                          5) Ohtani – It's stupid we can't place him as a DH. When setting a line-up card, you should be able to have access to every player on the 25-man roster. It's that simple.

                          6) Single A – This is slightly more difficult due to the memory space needed, but it would be nice to have a full 25-man Single A roster.

                          7) 7-day concussion list – Increase the realism.

                          8) Nagging injuries – To tie in with the concussion list, nagging injuries should be a thing. Blisters, ankle sprains, elbow soreness, etc. Injuries that you could either DL your player for until they fully recover, or have them play through with reduced effectiveness and risk of further injury.

                          9) Injury timelines/rehab – The injury timelines need to be re-done to encompass a longer span of time (a sore elbow could be a week, could be four, could be surgery). Rehab starts with minor league teams should also be included, if possible.
Overall satisfaction also makes the decline!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know some are highly optimistic that The Show 19 will have a leap forward in franchise mode. I hope so but after seeing the AMAZING advances in NBA2k19 that are coming in franchise mode, The Show has to up the ante.

2k is having sliders that allow you to adjust progression/regression even down to specific attributes. Sliders that control how guys sign in Free Agency, trade difficulty, etc. I highly suggest even non-2k players check out what is being offered up so they can see the amazing possibilities for franchise mode if the time and effort is put in to it.

Just read a article about NBA Live 19 where you can create your own basketball court.
Hate to say it but if EA can pull this off in 3yrs since them coming back Id hope SCEA would strongly look into Create A Stadium

been said before but obviously, create-a-basketball arena hella lot easier trick than create-a-baseball field/park/stadium.
