In the 5 seasons I have completed since '16 the National League has won all 5 World Series and the American League has won every All-Star game.

World Series winners:

2016 - Dodgers def Blue Jays
2017 - Dodgers def Rays
2018 - Dodgers def Blue Jays
2019 - Dodgers def Astros
2020 - Marlins def Orioles

Interesting. I've kept track as well. In my 8 years it's been:

2014 - Angels def Nationals
2015 - Braves def Indians
2016 - Dodgers def Indians
2017 - Dodgers def Mariners
2018 - Cubs (me) def Mariners
2019 - Rays def Diamondbacks
2020 - Rockies def Yankees
2021 - Cubs def Angels

Multiple teams have played in multiple World Series. With several smaller market teams building yearly contenders and out playing the big boys.

In 2021 the top 4 teams in payroll were:
1) Dodgers
2) Yankees
3) Tigers
4) Cubs

Out of those 4 only the us and the Yankees made the playoffs with Detroit having the worst record in the league.

now if anyone can work out how to skip a year so that 2019 season starts so players age 1 year and rookies from 2018 are not rookies in 2019 anymore.. then their won't be much of a point to buy the show 2019 for most people.

I wish there was a way to do this.

I like the feature, but I haven't really used it since the first year it came out unfortunately removed some real players with generic ones. I'd rather continue my saves on their current year than lose real players down the line (especially in RTTS where you can't edit players).

One of the things I worried about the most with my carryover save is not having updated prospect faces.

Well that changed for me as I found out tonight I can download the OSFM rosters that have new prospect faces and just recreate them in my franchise file.

When players change teams they have a cpu generated face instead of actual portrait.

Not sure what you mean by new players in the league?? I add actual draft classes to my franchise each year.

Nothing is out of whack though for me at least

Best sports feature in the last five years. Can't figure out why more publishers refrain from adding it. It ensures that I buy the next version of the game.

As far as the players pics, I wish they would go the Madden route and not have them in uniform, just a white shirt/jersey like madden does, this way when they are traded or signed to a new team the pic can just stay the same.

I'm assuming your referring to the carry over saves from year to year? If so, how would that end Madden? I would love to keep my franchise going from year to year in Madden. I would think more people would buy the next version if this were implemented.

I was going to ask the same thing. A year or two ago they had a thread or part of a thread discussing this. I have bought Madden 12 and 17 and before that Madden 06....while I bought MLB 14-17 (I didn't buy last year). I didn't explore any of the other features of MLB...I just took advantage of the franchise things they added with my carryover save. If Madden would have let me continue my league as it was in the updated game with some new/retread features I would have continued buying Madden year after year.

I think more publishers don't do it because of the compatibility issues when you change things and people complaining.

It took a programmer an entire year to get carryover save functioning. I fear one of the things holding back additional stats and franchise mode improvements is that.

Adding new values that are not previously saved could cause crashes. I could be off base, but other application software runs into issues with compatibility when major new additions are made.
