Re: The Beauty of the Carryover Save Feature
No, what he is saying is now that the CAP has numbers instead of just the axis to create faces all you have to do is copy down those numbers for new or missing prospects and you can add them to your franchise by either replacing the lowest rated minor leaguer on your team or you can change the face of an actual draft pick.Comment

Re: The Beauty of the Carryover Save Feature
I was going to ask the same thing. A year or two ago they had a thread or part of a thread discussing this. I have bought Madden 12 and 17 and before that Madden 06....while I bought MLB 14-17 (I didn't buy last year). I didn't explore any of the other features of MLB...I just took advantage of the franchise things they added with my carryover save. If Madden would have let me continue my league as it was in the updated game with some new/retread features I would have continued buying Madden year after year.
Madden, not so much. People would find a version they liked and quit. You want free speech?

Re: The Beauty of the Carryover Save Feature
I actually didn't carryover into MLB18 as I didn't think there was enough reason from what I saw to warrant the purchase. But I had bought 14, 15, 16 and 17 mainly because I could keep my league and drop it in the new game. Madden I have only bought 17, saw the punt issue kicking into the wind and it sits on a shelf while I play 12. However, there were some nice things between 13-17 where I may have done carryovers (if they kept the CPU vs cpu feature in the game). Even simple things like a better menu layout or ease of moving from one screen/activity to another along with improvements in the graphics, colors, etc. would have been worth carrying on for at least a few iterations.Comment

Re: The Beauty of the Carryover Save Feature
if anyone can find away to skip everyone age a year and start 2019 season without players retiring then perhaps MLB 19 won't be worth buying.
I mean last year we had people using mlb 16 still instead of 17 but the issue was Judge was still going for rookie of the year with Ohtani.
I wish we could edit service time for EVERYONE so we can get accurate rosters with older games, but I guess that will ruin some sales and dollars $$Comment

Re: The Beauty of the Carryover Save Feature
So I’ve started a new 2018 season. If I don’t finish and do a carryover to The Show 19, will it show me in 2018 still or will I magically be in the ‘19 season?
I wasn’t going to preorder 19 but found myself in GameStop today with my kids and couldn’t help myself.

Re: The Beauty of the Carryover Save Feature
When players change teams they have a cpu generated face instead of actual portrait.
Not sure what you mean by new players in the league?? I add actual draft classes to my franchise each year.
Nothing is out of whack though for me at least

Any particular website or list you use for your prospects to make them accurate?

That is why I use cpu generated faces from the beginning. To me its jarring to have a mix of the two, so I just go with all generated portraits. In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

Pretty sure the same guys don’t retire every time so that should work.Comment

Re: The Beauty of the Carryover Save Feature
So here's my dilemma: I'm in the off season of my 2014 carry over before the 2019 season. I control all 30 teams. I like to get players who in real life moved to new teams onto their teams in the game (Harper, Machado etc.). However by now, i have a boatload of players in the free agent market who are in real life:
-free agents
-retired
- playing in other leagues or internationally
-deceased
trying to figure an equitable way to sign players to teams (most have well below their 90 man limit). At this point of the off season, most players are accepting what the teams offer, so though Chase Headley is the highest ranked 3b, I may not have to shell out alot on a team for a 1 year deal.
I plan on signing the retired/deceased players first, to multi-year deals if possible. Then since guys are playing in other leagues/international, could come back to the MLB, I would do them next, and hold out on real free agents until the final week before the end of off season/start of spring training.
I thought I'd go through each team, based on remaining budget and position needs an have them offer players from each category where there is need a deal, keeping in mind a better player in a different category available. The number could be my best thoughts, first value after getting a 'red' signal for the offer (this is MLB 17 by the way, shows interest in red/yellow/green) or dice roll of some sort. Then move onto the next player categorization.
But I'd be interested in thoughts others have for ways to look at this. It would add an element of surprise to my franchise, where several teams could offer a player a deal and see what happens when the calendar turns. I did this with the trade deadline last year. Be interested to hear what others may do or suggestions you may have.
