Thanks bro, but same results. In fact, my results were even worse haha! Not only was my hitting twice as bad, but my pitchers couldn't strike a soul out to save their lives. Paxton 8 innings-1 strikeout. Yeah, like the guy who posted below stated I am just done with this game. Insane that I need to get a degree in physics to play it. No idea how I've played this game since it was created and can only manage strikeouts and the miraculous single a few times in MLB 19. Every year, I accept the adjustment time but usually only takes me a week or two to get in the groove. I can't even put a finger on why this game is so atrociously bad. Hell, I am just excited to put the ball in play. Too bad, I loved this game. It will be interesting to see how many people fall off after this year; totally inaccessible. Sayonara MLB the Show it was a good run.

And I just finished up a 2-0 win over Detroit, with Sale going 7 innings and 105 pitches, 9k’s 2BB and a solo shot by Benintendi off the Pesky Pole to win it.
Strange how folks can have such different experiences, and such stark contrasts in gameplay.
Take some time off, enjoy that U.S. Strat ( I’ve got a 1991and we’ll see you back before too long.

I used to work out at a place where the weight machines had letters on the plates rather than numbers. Smart idea.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 19 First Impressions Thread (IMPRESSIONS ONLY)
Had another one of those rewarding, baseball feeling games the other night.
Playing the Pirates with Drew Harrington on the mound. He gets absolutely beat up in the first inning. 5 earned runs on 7 hits, 3 homeruns, and a walk. I'm panicking because we are about to start a stretch where we are going to play 10 games in 11 days and I don't want to exhaust our bullpen despite it being against the first place Pirates. So he gets thru the inning and we go down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the first and I'm thinking this is going to be a long game.
Harrington though bounces back and pitches the next 5 innings allowing just 2 hits, striking out 3, and no free passes. In that time frame our offense goes nuts on Jameson Taillon and by the time Harrington exited in the 6th, he had a 10-5 lead, that we would not relinquish. Talk about a turn of events.
The first inning I'm thinking we are in for a long night and my bullpen is going to be abused. 5 innings later we are dominating the game and end up winning.
Baseball...what a game.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

When you've all but given up on a player and have been scouring the trade market and he does this....

Did a good job with presentation this year, however Andriese comes in from the bullpen.....drops his glove. Yoan Lopez comes in.....drops his glove. Archie Bradley comes in.....drops his glove. Three relief pitchers in a row. Geez, is taking this cut scene out something that would affect something else negatively in the game? This and the pulled pitcher throwing the ball up in the air to his manager shouldn’t have made it into the game.Comment

Yes, a player of mine would toss a ball up in the air, and walk off the mound one time.
Then it is back to the Chattanooga Pokey Cats. You might toss a ball at your coach in A ball, but Alex Cora.. I don't think so.

Re: MLB The Show 19 First Impressions Thread (IMPRESSIONS ONLY)
I know I've said this before, but the defense in the game this year is so damn good.
Had a play last night (forgot to save video) where Harrison Bader tracks a deep fly to center, does a mini-leap at the wall (ball was going to hit the wall), makes the catch, crashes into the wall and hangs on.
I swear every game there is at least one defensive play made that makes me just say...WOW!Last edited by countryboy; 04-29-2019, 10:11 AM.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Wish I could say the same but most of the Jays players are rated so poorly defensively that I get to see the other side of the fence. LOL.

Re: MLB The Show 19 First Impressions Thread (IMPRESSIONS ONLY)
Finally picked this up today.
Initial thoughts are no surprise.. astounding game. Such a beautiful playing game.
I had no stuttering issues and game play was smooth as silk.
Can't wait to dig into a franchise within the next couple days.
Last practice game I had was very fun.
Down 1-0 through 6 until Gardner hit a 3 run HR.
In the 9th Chapman gave up a solo HR to lead off batter then promptly set down the next 3 to secure the 3-2 win for Tanaka.
I can already see having good D players will be essential.. Will certainly make roster management a lot more fun.
Lots of time will be lost now lolJoshua:

One thing that I'm seeing that I like is the running down of well hit balls in the gap. It's pretty cool seeing your CF crash into the wall after robbing an extra base hit. They call me Mr. Thread CoolerComment

I know this is a first impressions thread, and I've played just about 100 games so far, but I really need to comment on the commentary. I am pretty disappointed in it for the most part as it seems to be heavy copy/paste from last years product. I really can't stand the sound or the style of Mark Derosa's commentary either.
Other than that, and a few overblown reactions in certain situations; this game is very beautifully done. I just need more depth in the commentary to make me want to play on Hybrid presentation and to make me want to turn the commentary volume back up.Streaming all 162 games of my MLB 22 Franchise on Twitch!
