Man... I've had the rug pulled out from me. I've now lost 5 in a row and my guys can't make anything happen. It's almost like the games making me lose on purpose. Something is wrong and I don't know what it is. I'm off to play the Dodgers in LA, so maybe I'll lose 3 more...lets find out.

Re: MLB The Show 19 Franchise Discussion Thread
Was checking team stats to see where I was ranking. Was curious with my teams record and everything what it was like. Top of the league in most pitching stats, which I expected, and muddle of the pack in most hitting categories. I'm not too thrilled with either stat as I feel we should be lower. I think I may have to change difficulties, especially pitching wise. Main thing with my pitching is we're not walking anyone and striking out too many. But I digress.
The main reason for the post was my surprise at where my Tigers ranked in terms of strikeouts and walks. We're in the top 20 for walks and 2nd in strikeouts. Here I thought I was far too impatient at the plate and struck out too much, but apparently I'm bettet than I have myself credit. It's something I'm actually proud of. But that might be changing soon if/when I make the changes in difficulty lol
Anyway, just completed the three game series against the Twins. My recap will come when I get back home from my brother's football game.Pistol Power- The Coaching Career of Zarek Stryker

Cardinals sweep Padres. Extend winning streak to 8
The Cardinals swept the Padres over the weekend in Busch, and the Cardinals have now won 8 straight games. And with the sweep the Cardinals have extended their lead in the division to 9 games over the Pirates with 18 games left in the season for both teams.
The Cardinals did it again with a good balance of hitting and pitching. The Cardinals also did it in dramatic fashion winning the last two games in the series in walk off fashion.
Next up the Cardinals will be off on Monday before they travel to Los Angeles for an interleague series against the struggling Angels.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

A's clinch AL West
The Oakland A's are the first team to punch their ticket to October baseball after they clinched the AL West with a win over the Astros yesterday. The A's who are now 95-50 have the best record in the American League by 4 games over the Orioles, with 17 games left in the season for both teams.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I'm in July and pitchers are still wearing jackets on the bases. Same with coaches in the dugout. So stupid.

TIGERS SWEEP TWINS IN DRAMATIC FASHION
A three game series between division rivals Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers saw the Tigers continue their hot start to the 2019 season. The Twins came home looking to put a stop to the Tigers, but were unable to do so in front of their home crowd and have now lost seven of their last eight games.
Game One of the series saw Zack Wheeler take the mound for Detroit against arguably the ace of the Twins staff in Jose Berrios, but the Tigers were all over the young righty. Berrios was knocked out early in the fourth inning after only three and a third innings, giving up ten hits and being credited with seven runs against. The knocker in this game was a Niko Goodrum grand slam in the fourth inning off of reliever Trevor May on the first pitch her threw in relief for Berrios. Detroit strung together an astounding 21 hits in the contest, with Wilmer Difo leading the charge on a 5-6 night. Zack Wheeler tossed seven quality innings, giving up five hits and only one run while striking out eleven Twin batters.
Game Two was a heartbreaker for Minnesota. Jordan Zimmerman toed the rubber for Detroit against Minnesota's Jake Odorizzi in what was a fairly well pitched game between both starters, neither of whom factored in the final decision. After falling down 3-0, Minnesota stormed back in the eighth inning. A Byron Buxton triple followed by a Joe Mauer double finally pushed Zimmerman out of the game for Detroit, who brought in Trevor Rosenthal to preserver the 3-1 lead. Miguel Sano greeted him with a moonshot to right-center field to tie the game up, forcing extra innings. It wasn't until the twelfth inning that either team finally scored again. Kelvin Herrera, in his second inning of work, was facing number nine hitter Kenny Wilson, making his season debut for the injured Jarrod Dyson. A 1-1 pitch was left over the heart of the plate, and the 29-year old didn't miss it, depositing the ball into the left field bleachers for his first career homerun, giving Detroit a 4-3 lead and the eventual win as Shane Greene closed the doors on Minnesota for his sixth save of the season.

Game Three was another heartbreaker for the Twins. Detroit ace Michael Fulmer was pitching against Minnesota's Michael Pineda. Miguel Sano hit his second homerun in as many games, a solo shot in the first to right field to give the Twins an early 1-0 lead. Pineda was lights out in the first four innings with four perfect frames as Detroit could do nothing against him. Start of the fourth, Pineda started to lose some of his command. A lead-off walk to Miguel Cabrera broke up the perfect game, then a follow-up single by Tyler Flowers broke up the no-hit bid, putting runners on first and second. John Hicks came up and laced a double down the first base line to score Cabrera and put runners on second and third with nobody out. Matt Szczur was up next, and he lofted a sac fly to deep center field, scoring Flowers and moving Hicks over to third with one out. Another good at bat saw Kenny Wilson with a grounder deep to second base for an out, but it was deep enough to score Hicks from third. 3-1 Tigers. This would be the final score as Shane Greene came on for his seventh save of the year. Pineda went six innings, giving up three runs on two hits, walking three and striking out two while taking the loss. Michael Fulmer went six and two-thirds innings, giving up one run on four hits, walking one and striking out nine.Pistol Power- The Coaching Career of Zarek Stryker

Re: MLB The Show 19 Franchise Discussion Thread
Every March I buy this game with one goal: Play all 162 games.
And for the first time since MLB 12, I'm proud to say, I have reached that goal. Playing every pitch of every game, all 162 have been played. I've literally played nothing but my franchise.
Spoiler
My Braves won the NL East with MLB's best record (113-49). Freddie Freeman won NL MVP with a monster season, batting .335 with 50 homers and 150 RBIs. His teammates, Ender Inciarte (.337) and Josh Donaldson (56 HRs) kept him from the triple crown. Ronald Acuna Jr. got his 40/40 season with 42 HRs and 40 SBs.
Playoff Teams
NL
1. Braves (113-49)
2. Dodgers (100-62)
3. Cubs (95-67)
4. Nationals (102-60)
5. Reds (92-70)
AL
1. Astros (106-56)
2. Indians (101-61)
3. Yankees (99-63)
4. Red Sox (89-73)
5. Rays (84-78)
Award Winners
MVP
Freddie Freeman, Braves
J.D. Martinez, Red Sox
CY Young
Stephen Strasburg, Nationals
Justin Verlander, Astros
I still feel the sting of losing the 2012 World Series in 7 to the Yankees. Hopefully this is the year we get that World Series championship.Comment

My question is how did this Kenny Wilson make the big league roster?
Sent from my LGMP260 using Operation Sports mobile app
I don't just look at a player's overall when making my decisions. I look at all their stats and everything as well. Didn't want to call up a younger prospect yet to take that roster spot, so Wilson got the nod. And made the decision look good in that at-batPistol Power- The Coaching Career of Zarek Stryker

40 games to go in the 2020 season for me. Division title will be locked up soon, but it will be a battle down the stretch with the Cubs for the top seed in the NL. Chicago won 2 of 3 in New York to move a couple games ahead. It would be the first time in 3 seasons the Mets aren't the top seed if the Cubs stay in front.Currently Playing:
