    • Dropped series vs the Reds (0-3) bumped us from the top.
    • 3 games back of the wild card as well
    • Overall: Mediocre. Should be in a WC spot but 3 close losses vs the Reds hurt that.

    Notables
    1. Christian Yelich: Hitting .310 on the season with 12 HR in 60 GP.
    2. Trent Grisham: Hitting .304 with 5 HR's at 54 GP.
    3. Ben Gamel: Hitting .310 with 2 HR's at 42 GP.
    4. Mike Leake, Zach Davies: Entirely identical, Same number of IP, same ERA, same WHIP.
    5. Keston Hiura: Struggling. .208 Bavg. and only 2 HR's in 226 AB's.
    6. Mike Moustakas: Also disappointing. .238 average and 8 HR's.
    7. Brandon Woodruff, Madison Bumgarner: Both struggling immensely. Bumgarner should return to normal, but Davies may see some more AAA time, with Ivan Nova taking his spot.
    8. Ariel Jurado: Also struggling but has been returning to form the past few games. 4.45 ERA is far from terrible, but not good.

    Draft
    1. 1st round: Robert Story, a SP out of Michigan. Story very well should have been a top 10 pick, but doesn't have the highest ceiling. His floor is massive however, and he should burst into the MLB in 2 years max.
    2. 2. RF Orlando Rodriguez: Speedy contact fielder out of the DR. A good fielder, just lacks the arm to be a center fielder.
    3. COMP: 1B Fred Finch. Extreme contact hiter. If he gets pop a definite 40 HR candidate. Piss poor defense/speed.
    4. 3. Andrez Vasquez: Reliable inning eater out of Minnesota, has great changeup pitches including a gnarly sweeping curve.
    5. 4. Richard Aguilera. 2B/SS out of Cuba. Will hit for good AVG and be a servicable fielder if everything goes well.
    6. 5. Irvin Sambol. Project pitcher who really needs velocity to have impact at the highest level.
    7. 6. Scott Gowdy. A High-Schooler out of Minnesota, he shows very well on Cannon's pCS model. Throwing his fastball at 94 already as an 18 year old, his potential is there.

    Other notes:
    1. Rumors around the league have suggested that Cannon is still looking for good starting arms. Carlos Rodon (CWS) and Trevor Williams (PIT) are names that have been linked to the Cream Crew, with both being relatively cheap to acquire as well as having some years of control attached to the two. The Brewers have also been linked to RF Nomar Mazara, who shows very well on the pCS metrics. Struggling this season, the Rays are attempting to straighten out their outfield via cutting some assets loose.
    2. The Twins, who are currently a terrible 23-40, have also been linked to the Brewers in some capacity. Alledgedly Cannon thinks the world of SP Jose Berrios, but the Twins are certainly not keen on giving him up. Another team who sits in this position is the Chicago Cubs, who are currently dead last in the NL Central and are stealthily shopping players like Kyle Hendricks and Kris Bryant.
Always good to hear about a good RED'S sweep. Brings a little joy to my heart. Nice overall post. Good luck with the rest of the season.

James Paxton remains by far our best pitcher with an ERA of 2.53 and a 0.82 WHIP. And he’s doing it at the right time as he’s due for FA this offseason. Age may not be on his side though as he’ll be 32 next year and that’ll obviously be a concern for any interested teams.

The Syndargaard deal has not worked out at all so far. He’s had a few very ugly outings now with a 7.92 ERA. Far from what was expected from him.

Next up, 2 games in Atlanta against the first place Braves before another 3 game set vs Boston, this time at Fenway.

      News:
      Reds Return To Relevance
A year after finishing 77-85, the Reds currently lead the Central at 27-16. No major new faces here as well. Votto has lead the charge playing like he’s in his prime at age 36 with a line of 386/453/725 and a 1.178 OPS. 14 HR’s, 34 RBI’s. Currently on pace to potentially win the NL MVP. The Cubs may very well pull ahead and away from Cincy at some point, but this is a fun story to watch for now.
Another post about a good RED'S season, . Maybe a REDS and Yankees World Series..

The injury bug has once again struck the Cardinals and once again its to a key piece of their outfield rotation.

C.J. McElroy was placed on the 10 Day IL for a knee injury suffered in the 7th inning of last nights game against the Mariners. McElroy is said to have cartilage damage in the knee and is expected to be out 4-6 weeks. McElroy took over the lead off spot and everyday centerfield duties when Bader went down a couple of weeks ago.

The Cardinals will, for the moment, start Aaron Hicks in center and will either have him hit leadoff or move Kolten Wong from his staple 8th spot in the lineup to lead off.

Oscar Mercado was recalled from Memphis to fulfill the open 25 man roster spot.
Are these injuries occuring at home? Might be time to shake up the grounds crew, get a new sod guy, switch your mower man to doing the edging and whoever is on the water hose might turn it down a bit.

Re: MLB The Show 19 Franchise Discussion Thread

I'm in late April 2020 of my Braves franchise. Guess I was feeling a bit nostalgic today as I brought back Markakis and O'Day on one-year deals.

We traded for D.J. Stewart in the offseason with the idea he'd be the starting RF until top-prospect Melvin Rodriguez was ready. Well, Rodriguez is in Atlanta now and that made Stewart a bit expendable. We felt like he needed to play every day, so we put him on the block.

The Angels are currently in first place in the AL West and they're desperate to get Trout back to the playoffs. They offered 19-year-old left-hander Julio Soto, the 8th-ranked prospect, for Stewart and second baseman Rico De La Rosa. Couldn't turn that down.

Soto joins last year's top draft pick, Russ Dempsey, as A-level prospects in AA. And we still have Kyle Wright, Bryse Wilson and Chris Fernandez in AAA.

That left a hole on our bench, so we brought back Markakis. He was an All-Star and Gold Glover for us last year, but we'll count on him to mentor Rodriguez while playing once or twice a week for us this season.

O'Day was optioned to Gwinnett. We're taking some heat for giving him $3M a season to pitch at AAA, but he gives us some depth.

(Writing this cause im bored so alot of this is off the top of my head). Year 1 of the Yankee Chise came off the most dominant season in MLB history. Finished 123-39 (played evry game, simmed the last 8 or so) Was at the top or near the top in every main hitting, pitching category) Ended up losing the first two games of the ALDS before winning the next 3. Won the ALCS in dominating fashion and beat the Cardinals in the WS in 6 Games. Heading into the offseason the goal was to maintain, and improve. We got Mike Folts (from the Braves) for Tanaka and prospects. We also got Jeff Mcneil from the mets and Matt Olson from the A's in trades and Leury Garcia off free agency. Now heading into year 2 the goal was to win it all again. Currently we are 32-7 (the Astros have the best record at 33-6) and on crazy pace to break more records. Outside of that one thing that disappoints me is the lack of "power". It seems as if power is COMPLETELY nerfed. The fact i have Stanton, Judge, Olson, Sanchez, Hicks, Torres and my whole lineup is full of guys who can hit homers and that were 18TH in Home runs is a joke. Torres has 0, hicks has 2, olson has 7 etc. It just feels as if Power wise the game is nerfed

                MLB THE SHOW 17 - 2017 SEASON - SPRING TRAINING -

So, the REDS have wrapped up their 2017 Spring Training, the REDS went 6-4 in the last 10 games making them 23-8, but the REDS seemed to cool down in the later part of ST.

Using the DYNAMIC DIFFICULTY SETTING I ended up between H.O.F. to H.O.F. + for pitching and just shy of ALL-STAR on hitting. Since I am going to import my Franchise over to MLBTS 18 and do not want to go through DYNAMICS again, I will start off using H.O.F. pitching and ALL-STAR hitting. Hoping they balance eah other out.

The REDS did lose SP Shohei Ohtani during ST, Ohtani complained about elbow soreness after a simulated pitching session. Team physician, Dr. Timothy Kremchek, has diagnosed Ohtani with a Grade 2 UCL sprain in his right elbow. He will receive platelet-rich plasma and stem-cell injections to treat the injury. The REDS are not sure what this means for Ohtani's 2017 season. It is a wait and see...

Re: MLB The Show 19 Franchise Discussion Thread

Trade Deadline post for my Brewers post won't follow in line with my last update. Power surge caused me to lose the progress, and the records are *much different*. Not gonna try to fix it as I feel the results are a bit more intruiging as we struggled a *lot* more.

                    So, updated points:

-Our first pick is now RF Lucas Ritchie.
-Robert Story is now our compensatory round pick.
-Eduardo Castilla is now our 2nd round pick
-Ronny Ortiz is now our 3rd round pick.
-Norm Richardson is now our 2nd compensatory round pick, with Darryl Warren following in the 3rd.
-Andre Kane is our 5th round pick.
(this draft class was a bit worse than our original but fits more in the line of the ongoing story w/cannon and his fancy draft stat- trust me this will make sense if I get as far as I want to)

                    Major League Team Notes
-A big part of our struggles has been hitting. None of our team is hitting above .275, and only one player is hitting above .265 (Moustakas). With players like Cain, Gamel, etc on the team, it's reasonable to assume this is more of a flash in the pan than anything else.
-Our pitching feels closer to in line with real-world expectations, but still involves a lot of struggles. Bumgarner is pitching *excellent*, 2.89 ERA and 6-4. Every other pitcher has struggled, however, is in the low-mid 4's for ERA. Josh Hader as our closer has been lights out, however.
-As a result, Mike Leake has been optioned to AAA and Corbin Burnes has been called up to fill his void. If players like Woodruff, Davies, and Jurado don't turn things around, they could also see themselves sent down for players like Pomeranz, Faria, etc.

                    Trade Deadline Notes:
-Don't think the terrible record will stop Cannon from adding at the deadline. Pitching is still a big concern, especially cost-controlled pitching, and adding for a run next year certainly wouldn't hurt.
-Small sells could happen to bring those players in. Players like Gamel and Jeffress could see themselves in different uni's on July 1st, and word on the street has it that Moustakas could see himself in a new city if the offer is correct.
-Names the Brewers could be interested in: RF Daniel Johnson, C Connor Wong, SP Jake Junis, SP Joey Lucchesi, SP John Means, SP Jose Berrios, SP Marco Gonzales, SP Jordan Yamamoto

Maybe lol. I play on HOF default. I always tend to stay away from the sports games highest diffcitulties because i feel like at that point the CPU has to cheat to win, rather then necessarily be better.

                        July 31st, 2020

MILWAUKEE BREWERS FRANCHISE MODE: STRUGGLES CONTINUE

The Brewers have been struggling all season, and this is no exception for their time before the trade deadline. Approaching the July 31st deadline, they rank dead last in the NL Central, at 43-65- 2 games behind the cardinals and a whopping 19 games back of the Cubs. As the season starts to wind down, it looks more and more like this will be a season to forget for the much-hyped Brewers squad.

All is not underwhelming however, as star signing Madison Bumgarner has excelled in his role as the ace for the Brewers, going 11-6 on the season with an appreciative 3.05 ERA.

                        Trades:
-Milwaukee traded SP Zach Davies, SP Phil Bickford, and Cf Corey Ray to the Royals in exchange for SP Jake Junis and CF Michael Gigliotti. In a resulting move, CF Dillon Thomas gets rewarded for an excellent season so far at the Triple A level, getting added to the 40 man and called up in time for a game against the Nats.
-3B Mike Moustakas was sent from Milwaukee to the Astros alongside SP Trey Supak for 2B Aledmys Diaz. Diaz will play 2B/SS alternating with Keston Hiura and Orlando Arcia while Eric Thames and Ryan Braun will more often rotate in 1B. In Houston, it is speculated Moustakas will occupy the DH role.
-The Brewers also acquired SP Joey Lucchesi from the Padres for SP Brandon Woodruff and C prospect Payton Henry.
-Finally, the Brewers engaged in a prospect swap- sending top prospect Brice Turang to the Pirates along with SP Luis Gonzalez for fellow top SS prospect Oneil Cruz and reliever Chris Stratton. Cruz will report to Triple A.

As a result of these moves, Drew Pomeranz and Jacob Faria were sent to Triple A. Jurado moves to the pen as a long reliever. Brent Suter gets the call as the 5 starter.

Despite the relative quality added, it is expected that the Brewers will just see where the season takes them, rather than fire a coach or such. It goes without saying, however, that if this team struggles at the start of next year, Counsell may find himself on the hot seat.

                          MILWAUKEE BREWERS FRANCHISE

Milwaukee, WI: GM Dominic Cannon approached the media today, to address his moves at the July 31st deadline.

It was a busy deadline for the Brewers, which saw them make 4 moves, acquiring 2 pitchers who they hope will be long term solutions for the team in Joey Luchessi and Jake Junis. Atop of that, Cannon swapped Mike Moustakas, a fan favorite, for utility infielder Aledmys Diaz on the Astros, and finally made his most shocking move of the day sending Brewers top prospect Brice Turang alongside a pitching prospect to the Pirates for *their* top prospect, Oneil Cruz.

This is what GM Cannon had to say.

ON THE JUNIS TRADE: "Junis has always been one of my favorite pitchers to watch, especially in his minor league days. He may not throw the hardest, or have the best control, but his pitches break very effectively, and he can eat up innings and not walk a lot. He's been slowly developing into a force on the mound and we're excited to have him hopefully following behind Bumgarner in every series for the many years to follow."

ON THE LUCHESSI TRADE: "This trade was actually proposed to us by the Padres. We love what Joey brings to the table and he follows the trend set by Junis: Inning eater with excellent movement who excels at getting the out. With our struggles on the mound this year, it only made sense to pull the trigger on the deal.

ON THE MOUSTAKAS TRADE: "While I know this trade may not be viewed kindly by the fans, Aledmys is a talent we hope to unlock here in Milwaukee. His vision on the plate and along the basepaths makes him an interesting option on our team, considering it was mostly power hitters. We thank Mike for everything he did in his 2 and a half years here, and wish him the best in Houston."

ON THE TURANG TRADE: "How this trade came about is very interesting for sure. I was watching a Missions game against the Pirates affiliate and me and Ben started to chat about our prospects. We both kind of realized- we have two shortstop prospects around the same value and age that don't really fit 100% with either of our organizational views. While Turang has great defense for his age, I absolutely love Cruz's bat and think he can make that jump to the MLB as soon as next year."

ON THE TEAM: "While I know we certainly haven't been up to expectations, and thats on me, it's important to also note that we believe this team has that higher gear that competes like a champion. We simply just haven't reached that level, but I have faith in our guys that it'll happen soon. I think my moves at the deadline showcased that competition is the core thing on my mind, and a higher pick in the draft won't change that. If anything, it could turn out to be a blessing in disguise."

87 Roster a blast!!! Braveschise, quick counts, Armors setup. Play every other game. Just made trades to bring in a John Smoltz and Otis Nixon. Will try to bring in Maddux and Mcgriff when I can by 1990 hopefully. See if can rework Braves 90s magic to get more than 1 WS Champ. Already see some of the other guys in minors. Can you edit prospects? And when? Need to draft a top switch hitting 3B in near future? I wonder who? Hmmmm[emoji6][emoji106]

                              MILWAUKEE BREWERS FRANCHISE MODE

                              End of Season Review

The Brew Crew closed out the 2020 MLB season with a 1-2 loss versus the Chicago Cubs this Sunday, closing off a year that could only be described as one word: Underwhelming.

With a 70-92 record, the Brewers finished 7th-last in the league, behind such teams as the Pirates, White Sox, and Tigers. Marred by either batting woes, pitching woes, or both in the same game, there is a lot to consider when it comes to this team's core, future, and goals.

                              HIGHLIGHTS

Bumgarner: The former San Francisco star came to Milwaukee last offseason on a relatively cheap deal and did not disappoint. Ending the season as the only Brewers pitcher who started the season with the team that had a winning record, he dazzled in front of what was a tumultuous team this year for the Brew Crew.

Junis: The deadline acquisition by GM Cannon came to Milwaukee and only got better as the season winded down. Dropping his ERA to a mind-boggling 2.71 coupled with a 1.11 WHIP. Expect Junis to be signed to a mid-term deal this winter as he solidifies himself as an important part of this rotation.

                              LOWLIGHTS

The Entire Batting Staff: No player above .276. No player that passed the 30 HR mark. Only one player above 20 SB's. A collective down year from what should have been an ace batting staff is one of the core reasons behind the Crew's downfall this year.

Leake: Leake finished the 2019 season with the Diamondbacks with a 2.54 ERA. He didn't even make it through the first 20 games of the Brewers, posting a near-5.00 ERA. He will not be brought back.

Jeffress: 5.01 ERA. He is done.

Brewers Needs for the FA period: Relievers, hope to god the batting returns to our players bodies.

MLB THE SHOW 18 - 2017 REGULAR SEASON

So the Cincinnati Reds finally get their 2017 Regular Season started by hosting the Philadelphia Phillies in a three game series.

                                GAME 1 - REDS (0-0)

CIN SP Anthony DeSclafani vs PHI SP Aaron Nola

SP Anthony DeSclafani gets the go as the Opening Day Starter for the REDS. Even though DeSclafani is a good, solid pitcher going 9-5 with a 3.28 ERA in 20 STARTS last year, he is not a franchise ACE pitcher like some teams will run out on Opening Day. In fact, on paper, the REDS starting rotation is not that strong. They will have to play well above their expected level if the REDS want to have any chance this year. Fingers crossed.

DeSclafani had a very good outting, pitching 6 shutout innings, allowing just 3 HITS and 12 STRIKE OUTS. Unfortunately, the REDS offense could not get any runs on the board before DeSclafani left the game.

SP Bronson Arroyo who is in the bullpen came in for the top of the 7TH, and pitched a scoreless inning. The REDS would go up 1-0 on a C Devin Mesoraco HOME RUN in the bottom of the 7TH.

The REDS would add another RUN in the 8TH, to make the score 2-0. And CP Jonathan Broxton would get the SAVE after pitching a scoreless 9TH. Arroyo gets the WIN out of the pen.

The REDS WIN 2-0, and are 1-0 on the year. Can they go 162-0? We shall see! The REDS and Phillies have tomorrow off, but will resume the day after.
