Re: MLB The Show 19 Franchise Discussion Thread
MountUrCastle's San Francisco Giants Rebuildhalf-season update
note: i have decided to only do a half-season update until the team gets some legs. right now it's entirely meh and the only things to focus on are: is freeland doing fine? what are we gonna get for crawford? who did we draft? 2 of those things will be addressed now
DRAFT UPDATE
1. Vic Spoone, Shortstop
Projects to be an all-world defensive shortstop. Limitless potential. If his bat develops, he'll be the next generation of shortstop but his bat has a looooong way to go.
2. Martin De Jesus, Catcher
Completely raw, many years from MLB. If developed right, a Robinson Chirinos in his peak catcher.
3. Joey Rios, Right Fielder
Speedster with a power bat. Defence and everything else almost a nonfactor. Maybe MLB depth
4. Joey Scott, Starting Pitcher
Good velocity, but lack of movement and pitch choice kills any hope for being anything more than a meh 5th starter.
5. Andres Vasquez
A total project centered around a speedy center fielder.
6. Vinny Palmiero
See Joey Scott.
Overall, not the strongest draft by the Giants, but Vic Spoone adds impressive potential to the Giants prospect group alongside Perez, Ruiz, Bart, Ramos, and Taveras.
6/11/19:
The San Francisco Giants have traded 3B Ryder Jones, SP Chris Stratton, and RF Heath Quinn to the New York Mets for 1B Pete Alonso and SP Thomas Szapucki.
(alonso isn't great in this game.)
-------
Trade Deadline
The San Francisco Giants have traded Brandon Crawford to the Jays for SP prospect Adam Kloffenstein, SP Ryan Borucki, and 1B Morales to balance the salary.
The Blue Jays were seeking an upgrade at SS as they were in the wildcard position late in the year.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 19 Franchise Discussion Thread
the Dodgers rotation is deep, and killing me. been wondering who you Dodger guys decided on as a fifth starter. I really think if I had 6 good starters like L.A., I'd go with a 6 man rotation and save some wear and tear on those arms. something like 28 starts for the top 4 & then 25 starts a piece for the 5th/6th man. might keep a guy like Kershaw fresh for OctoberOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23
