Re: MLB The Show 19 Franchise Discussion Thread

well 30 years later and nothing changed. lol. Games two and four were rage-inducing at times. Facing Cueto was as stressful as any pitcher I have ever faced.

I thought during that game two after the Giants had taken a 2-0 lead in the middle innings that my perfect run this postseason was done. About the seventh inning, I told myself that either I will get shut out today, or I will come back and walk it off in the ninth inning.

When I tied up the game in the top of the eighth in that game I just knew that I was going to walk it off somehow. I knew that at that point it was a backbreaker to the Giants and that I should be able to run the table the rest of the series.

Game four was another stressful game. As I continued to struggle hitting against one of the Giants starters. However, as you can see we persevered and came through to win our second straight World Series title.

Now it is time to embark onto the offseason and let the CPU take the reins. This team is pretty much locked up for the most part. However, there are a few key members that are either Free agents or arbitration-eligible.

I also have a coach that is done and ready to be replaced, my hitting coach.
What I will be doing first, however, is to bring you every (real) player that has retired, and any player that might enter the Hall of Fame after this season.

So stay tuned for more from my continuing franchise.

Re: MLB The Show 19 Franchise Discussion Thread

here is a list of my team's free agents and arbitration-eligible players this offseason.

        SS Addison Russell (ARB)
        RP Yusmeiro Petit (FA)
        SP Drew Smyly (FA)
        CF Staring Marte (FA)
RP Vernon Ferren (name changed after 19 came out but real player) (FA)
        C J.T. Realmuto (FA)
        SS Marcus Semien (FA)
        CP Blake Treinen (FA)
        CF Keon Broxton (ARB)
        RP Alexx Wilson (FA)
        SP Daniel Mengden (ARB)
        3B Johan Camargo (ARB)

Could the overall 2020 roster look different? it could as like I said this is the first offseason I have decided to be just an on-field manager and let the CPU be the GM and let the cards land where they may.

Re: MLB The Show 19 Franchise Discussion Thread

Dodgers take the 3 game home series against the Red Sox 2 games to 1.

Game 1: Red Sox win 3-1. Walker Buehler earned the loss giving up 3 runs in 6 innings off 3 hits and 9 strikeouts. Once again Dodgers had the runners on base but failed to get them around to score, stranding 8 in the game. Red Sox scored the go ahead run with a 2 run home run by Bogaerts in the top of third.

Prior to game 2, the Dodgers send CF Alex Verdugo to AAA OKC. It was determined that Verdugo is not ready for the MLB stage and the club will go forward with 4 outfielders, being that Andrew Toles has the ability to play all 3 spots in relief. LHP Scott Alexander was called up to the pen giving the Dodgers 2 lefty options moving forward.

Game 2: Dodgers win 4-0. Previously slumping Chris Taylor had a big day for the Dodgers going 3 for 4 while driving in 3 RBIs, with 2 being off of solo home runs, his first 2 of the season. Julio Urias earned the win pitching 7 innings and striking out 7 while giving up 2 hits. The Red Sox Rick Portcello remains 2 wins away from win 150 after earning the loss.

Game 3: Dodgers 4-0. Dodgers win with a Cody Bellinger walkoff grand slam in the bottom of the 10th. Jose Alvarado earned the win in relief, pitching 2 innings allowing 1 hit and striking out 1. Ross Stripling started the game and pitched 7.2 scoreless innings, allowing 1 hit and striking out 4.

Probably because the Dodgers sent Verdugo back to AAA, Joc Pederson went down in the bottom of 5th with a pulled grown and was replaced by Toles. Pederson is expected to be out 1 to 2 weeks and was placed on the 10 Day IL. Tyler Goeddel was called up from AAA OKC, allowing Verdugo to start some games in his place and get some needed playing time.

Dodgers (6-4) stay at home for a 3 game series against the the Rockies (4-6)

2023 White Sox Franchise - NLDS Game 5

Philadelphia Phillies at Chicago Cubs - Aaron Nola vs Kyle Hendricks.

Chicago would come out swinging in the bottom of the first. RBI double by Kyle Schwarber followed by a 3 run homer by Anthony Rizzo a couple batters later. 4-0 CHC

Philly would add their first run in the top of the 4th on a Javy Baez error. 4-1 CHC.

Jeimer Candelario Double in the 8th brings Philly within 2 - 4-2 CHC

Nick Williams solo homer made it a 1 run game in the 9th but that's all the Phillies would get as the rally falls short. Chicago wins 4-3 and advance to the NLCS against the Atlanta Braves.

yep, that and the Hall announcement should come later in the off-season. in fact, I wish there would be a box to ''check'' beside each players name so you could refuse their ''request'' to retire.
