Re: MLB The Show 19 Franchise Discussion Thread
I was wondering if you simmed it out to see if there were any issues with the new contracts.

I don't like to sim thru and check things out, honestly. If there are issues with current contracts then I'm hopeful that by the time I get to that point of my franchise that SDS will have patched them. If not, then I'll deal with it when it comes.
I prefer to not go looking for issues. Not trying to be a wiseass nor am I'm taking a shot at those who like to check things out to see what they are working with, I just prefer to play and deal with what comes when I get to it.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Would you please elaborate? So you can add players to a franchise that is already in progress? If so how can you do this?

I just go back through and edit them back to who they were prior to being removed.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: MLB The Show 19 Franchise Discussion Thread
I finished my first game of the year, a 6-3 win against the Blue Jays on opening day. Christin Stewart hit two HR, Fulmer fought back from some early struggles to pitch 7+ with 10 K.
Then my cat stepped on the power button on my power strip. Opening day lost. Sadness abound.
So I turned my system back on, simmed the first game (won 9-3) and played the 2nd game which I just won, 7-0. Playing game 3 now, I added Dallas Kuechel and a few FA vets to round out this Tigers squad :PComment

Not in franchise mode though. I have no option to set him as the DH unless i pinch hit him after game starts.

Welp, 1st game of 19, 5th game of Spring Training 2022, and I lose Javier Baez for 6+ months with an MCL tear. Normally I would be really mad but in years past I rarely have seen long term injuries so I actually love it. Of course, now I have to figure out who will be my opening day shortstop.

Also, just play and the realistic stats will come. I am a personal fan of dynamic difficulty. That way the game is always just the right amount of challenge. The stats just come on their own.Funkycorm

Re: MLB The Show 19 Franchise Discussion Thread
We won our first Spring Training game beating the Nationals 5-4. We scored all of our runs in the 3rd inning.
We are currently 1-1 and face the Tigers next. Jack Flaherty will start.
We have some roster decisions to make such as does Matt Carpenter stay on the team (yes I re-signed him) and who will be the backup catcher. Who will be the infielders on the bench and who fills out the bullpen and the 5th starter role.
So many decisions.

Re: MLB The Show 19 Franchise Discussion Thread
Pace yourself...as someone else also said. If you try to jam through it, you’ll get burned out and if you’re like me, you’ll start playing sloppy games.
Don’t worry about stats and sliders. Get a setup that challenges you realistically and then just let it ride. Stats will take care of themselves.
