I'll be doing 30 team Franchise, I really just want to control D'Backs and that's it...

    - Reading thru this thread, I've noticed about knowing when someone is interested in one of your players. How does that happen? It is because said player is on the trade block?
You will get a notification that one of the teams is interested in making a trade with you. Also, when players are on the trade block, you'll get a list of up to 3 teams that are interested in that player.

    - If I set full 40 man rosters, the CPU will call up and down send, etc? Like promote Vlad Jr, Senzel, demote guys who are struggling, DFA players?
Yes the CPU will make roster moves based on injuries as well as performance based.

    - CPU teams make smart trades and FA signings? Meaning trading for or signing based on needs.
I think so. I think sometimes its not immediately known, but you'll see the reasons for the signing/trade as time goes on.

I think the CPU roster building in '19 is some of the best I've witnessed in a baseball game, or sports game in general.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

      MountUrCastle's San Francisco Giants Rebuild

2021 second third + trade deadline

The Giants hobbled into the deadline with a 45-66 record. More pitching struggles is the name of the game, as Kyle Freeland has completely fallen off this year, posting a 4.5 ERA throughout the season, alongside Reynaldo Lopez posting a 4.6 ERA. In fact, the only starter for the Giants below a 4 ERA is Dereck Rodriguez. The GM is reportedly furious with them, and is looking to boost them to playoff competition.

      Trade Deadline

BREAKING: San Francisco Giants acquire Jesse Winker from Reds

The San Francisco Giants announced today they acquired LF Jesse Winker from the Reds, in exchange for top prospect Johan Ruiz, outfielder Michael Taylor, and SP Yu Darvish. Winker, being stuck behind Ozuna in Cincinatti was reportedly unhappy with his role. With the Giants looking to make a big splash and prep themselves for a competing year next year, this move made sense for them. The Giants also acquire a PTBNL in the trade (SP Freddy Baggett)

Ryan Borucki was promoted to the MLB after absolutely torching triple A this year.

      Other Giants moves:
-Traded RF Darren Lyon for CF Clint Frazier. Frazier will platoon with Mesa in CF. The 26-year-old hasn't stuck in the majors but shows flashes of being an MLB regular.
-Sent Cameron Maybin to the Rays for CP Christopher Lujan.

2023 White Sox Franchise - Game 2 ALCS

Game 2 was a pitchers duel between starters Michael Kopech (CWS) and Robert Thomas (BAL), but it came down to which bullpen would hold up.

Baltimore would strike first in top half of the 4th with a 2 out rally capped off by a Gavin Cecchini RBI single. 1-0 BAL.

The White Sox would have a 2 out rally of their own in their half of the 4th capped off by a RBI double by Eloy Jimenez. 1-1 Tie

It looked like the game was headed for extras but a 2 out rally in the bottom of the 9th capped off by a RBI single by Charlie Tilson to walk-off and send the series to Baltimore with the White Sox up 2 games to 0.

          • 76 - 61 (18-7 in September)
          • 2nd in AL West
          • Clinched the first wild card spot

For the first time since their record setting 2001 season, the 17 year playoff drought is finally over for the Mariners. The Mariners will take on division rival the Los Angeles Angels in the wild card game. September saw the Mariners recover in a big way moving into 2nd place behind the Astros. The Seattle bats heated up while the pitching staff had ice water in their veins the both the offense and defense were on the same page after a season of fits and starts. The Mariners outscored opponents 107 - 60 in the final month of the regular season.

Dee Gordon, Mallex Smith and Kyle Seager all ended the season with 12, 16 and 12 game hitting streaks respectively. Rookie pitcher Yusei Kikuchi continued his break out season and has more than earned the ace pitching spot after a spectacular season.

***League Note: The NL's final wild card spot came down to a playoff match to determine the qualifying team. The match up saw the Cincinnati Reds defeat the San Francisco Giants in the bottom of the 9th. Final score 3-2.

And with that a fantastic Mariners season comes to close. The Los Angeles Angels defeated the Mariners in an 11 inning battle. Unfortunately the Angels proved to be to much taking the game in extra innings 7-5.

Despite the disappointing loss the team and fan base are both energized after getting a taste of the play-offs. With hopefully the core of the team returning in 2020 the future for the Mariners looks bright. A relatively young nucleus of pitchers and position players will benefit from another year of experience, combine that with a front office that is willing to do what's necessary to win a world series and fans can rest easy knowing that the Mariners are sailing in the right direction.

Cardinals place Yairo Munoz on 10 Day IL

The Cardinals have placed 3B/IF Yairo Munoz on the 10 Day IL due to a pulled groin. Munoz left Tuesday nights game against the Astros in the 5th inning after attempting to dive for a ball hit back up the middle by Alex Bregman. Munoz becomes the 5th active roster player to land of the IL for the Cardinals this season. He's expected to be back within 2 weeks.

Bryce Denton was recalled from Memphis to take Munoz's open spot on the 25 man roster.

                  Seattle Mariners Franchise: 2020

                  ***Off-Season Rundown***
The Mariners are back and ready to contend. After failing to advance past the Wild Card game in 2019 the organization made some tweaks that to a solid line-up that they hope will propel them to a world series title. Seattle was able to retain the services of every member from last-years MLB roster.

Despite this the Mariners didn't just sit back and watch things happen during this off season. Once free agency hit Seattle enlisted the services of left fielder Marcel Ozuna. The Mariners are hoping his addition will improve the teams fortunes in runs scored and homeruns as they ranked 28th and 29th respectively in those department last season.

                  MLB(R) The Show(TM) 19_15.jpg

                  ***Ozuna 2019 Stats***

                  BA | .282
                  HITS | 158
                  HR | 23
                  OBP | .356
                  SLG | .480
                  RBI | 91
                  FLD % | .973

Acquiring Ozuna will see Domingo Santana move to the bench serving as a solid back up option to roam the outfield when needed.

                  ***Other Notable Seattle Roster Updates***
                  • Felix Hernandez wants to be a Mariner for life. The 33 yr. old signs a front loaded 5 yr contract
                  • Edwin Encarnacion had other offers but will continue his DH duties for the next two years in the Emerald City which will take him to his age 39 season.
                  • Geraldo Guevara (LF) could be the find of the off season. The 19 yr. Guevara went undrafted and can be compared to another Jamaican-born outfielder Chili Davis. As the Mariners have some depth at left there is plenty of time for Guevara to develop in the clubs farm system.
                  • RF Woody Bentler, SP Bartolo Hernandez, SP Tommy Milone retire

                  ***Off-Field Changes***
                  • Hitting Coach Tim Laker was let go and will be replaced by Doug Brocail
                  • West Coast scout Antonio Curley retired and will be replaced by Felix Barry

2023 White Sox Franchise - Game 4 ALCS

White looking for the sweep in Game 4 with Kevin DiBiase on the mound vs Gabriel Ynoa for Baltimore after scheduled starter Hunter Harvey went down with injury pregame.

No score until the bottom of the 6th when Ryon Healy would break the score less tie with a RBI single. 1-0 BAL

Score would last until the 9th with the Sox offense looking pretty over matched all game but Luis Urias would tie the game with a RBI ground out. 1-1 Tie

Would remain tied at 1 until the 15th inning when Jose Abreu and Yoenis Cespedes would lead off the inning with back to back jacks. 3-1 CWS

Sox win and sweep the ALCS and advance to their 2nd straight World Series.

Looking to defend last years Championship they will be meeting up with the winner of the NLCS between the Chicago Cubs and the Atlanta Braves. Cubs lead 3 games to 2.

Finishing off the 4 game Mexico series between the Dodgers and Giants:

Game 3: Dodgers win 4-2. Colton Stern earned the win pitching 7 innings and giving up 2 runs on 6 hits with 7 strikeouts. It was also Stern’s 3 run home run in the 3rd that put the Dodgers in the lead 3-1. Kenley Jansen earned the save and Yasiel Puig hit his first home run of the season.

Game 4: Dodgers win 10-1. Happy to see the Dodgers bats finally coming alive as they racked up 15 hits. Clayton Kershaw earned the win pitching 7 innings while giving up 1 run off 7 hits and 8 strikeouts. Max Muncy came up big with a grand slam in the 7th and tallied 5 RBIs total in the game.

The Dodgers will have a day off before heading to Atlanta to take on the braves in 3 game series to start an 8 game road trip to Atlanta, Cincinnati and New York to take on the Yankees.

Game 1: Dodgers win 2-0. Yasiel Sierra was called in to pitch in the second after Walker Buehler left the game with apparent arm injury. Sierra earned the win pitching 3.2 innings with 3 hits and 6 strikeouts. Kenley Jansen earned the save for the Dodgers. Chris Taylor was player of the game batting 2 for 4 with a solo home run and a double.

After the game Buehler was diagnosed with elbow tightness and is estimated to miss a 1 or 2 days. The Dodgers elected to keep him active and plan to start Sierra in his place if he is unable to make next start.

Joc Pederson returned from the IL leading the Dodgers to send LF Tyler Goeddel back down to AAA Oklahoma City and LF Logan Landon down from AAA to AA Tulsa. The Dodgers have a decision to make with Pederson back. Toles is currently batting .278, .078 point higher than Pederson with 16 more plate appearances and the same amount of HRs (1) and 1 more RBI (2). Attribute wise, Toles is higher in all categories except for power where Pederson has the edge 94 to 58 against righties and 67 to 47 against lefties.

The Dodgers must decide if they want the power of Pederson or the consistent bat of Toles.

Dodgers sweep Cardinals in Los Angeles

The Cardinals were swept off their feet in LA over the weekend but not in a good way, as the Dodgers just pummeled the Cardinals during their 3 game series for the sweep. The Cardinals have now lost 4 of their last 5 as they find themselves in a tail spin.

Injuries are certainly playing a part in this, but so are the bats as you find Albies with a .178 average and Wisdom with a .208 average at the series end. Juan Fabregas and Harrison Bader watched their averages plummet down nearly 30 points each during the series. Carson Kelly and Jo Adell seemed to be the only everyday players that kept their average same or increased, although Adell is now on the IL with a shoulder issue.

The Cardinals are just 2 back of the Cubs as they head home to take on the Pirates for 3 after a much needed day off on Monday. Jack Flaherty will be back from the IL to take the mound for the series opener.

Nearing the halfway point in the 2020 season and the Mets are 58-20, good for an 11-game lead in the NL East over the Phillies.

Jacob de Grom continues his post-Cy Young & MVP slide as he's 6-8 on the season with a 4.23 ERA. In the first two seasons of my franchise, de Grom lost a total of 8 games.

Michael Conforto leads MLB with 36 home runs.

Cubs are a 1/2 game ahead of the Mets for the best record in baseball. Crazy good season for the Cubbies.

Cardinals place Pedro Baez on optional assignment waivers

The Cardinals have placed RHP Pedro Baez on optional assignment waivers following their loss to Pittsburgh last night. Baez has pitched 17 innings this year and has a bloated ERA of 8.67. He has only recorded 11 strikeouts in those 17 innings of work.

If Baez clears optional waivers, its unclear if the Cardinals will actually keep him in Memphis to see if he can turn things around, or if they will designate and then release him.

RHP Mike Mayers has been recalled to take Baez's spot in the bullpen.
