Are you into the season or just starting?

Could be that if you're into the season, that the stats/production dictate that Castro is better served as the top middle reliever out of the pen over Richard Bleier

Oh man, I didnt know the game was that deep, if thats the way it works, that is awesome! I'm midway through the season. There are always 1 or 2 players who are personally favored by me that I make starters, whose overall would dictate they ride pine. Still, I start 'em anyways. Like this year I have Joey Rickard as a centerfielder instead of a corner and his overall is like 70, but Ced Mullins gets Coach Caulfield's Seal of Approval as starting CF'er even though his overall is something like 64. I keep thinking I cant possibly get anymore giddy over the Show but I'm consistently amazed by this game.

I have definitely seen better results following the layout of the pen from earlier in the thread. I do 30 team control, but CPU is auto, so what I do after I advance each day, is go through everyone's bullpen to make sure they are where I left them and the CPU didn't change it. If not, I adjust, takes 2 minutes...well worth it to get a more sim experience!

Is there any solution at all to the computer being full moronic with their bullpen? Like when they leave there worst reliever in for ages, regardless of game situation?

Classic example that just happened. Playing against the Red Sox, take a 4-2 lead in the 6th so they bring in their worst reliever Brian Johnson, he pitches an inning and they then tie the game up. They then just leave him in there for the next two innings, even when I get 2 men on without any outs in his 3rd inning. I end up going ahead and they still leave him in there to just lose the game.

The bullpen AI has always been bad, but I swear it's even worse than usual this year

Just curious does the CPU change it a lot? With the weird setup I can see that being the case.

Only a few games into my franchise but basically what I've seen is anytime the CPU makes a roster move (DL, callup/demote) it'll auto adjust. I kind of just keep tabs on transactions and adjust from there. But honestly, just scrolling through each teams pitching rotation/pen is quicker for me.

Have you gone thru each bullpen at setup like the way Lily Of The Valley posted? I've seen really nice bullpen management now!

Good to hear! I was worried about switching CPU teams to Auto, they would go and realign things.

Like LOTY posted, best setup guy go in MR slot 1, 2nd best goes in MR slot 2 and 3rd best goes in LR 1 slot.

So after the 3 best guys, do the next 2 best go under MR or LR?

MR should have all 4 slots filled, if you need more spots then put in LR.

Just make sure nobody is in the SU spots.

Doesn't having players in the LR spots make them pitch a million innings though? I think it did last year, they frequently ended up with more than starters

I've only been using a couple games, but I havent seen it... I think it balances out with having nobody in the SU spots.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding, but why is the 3rd best guy in the LR spot? If they’re going to prioritize MR then go to LR, shouldn’t the 4 best guys go in MR spots? I guess what I’m asking is what’s the logic behind the first LR spot?
