Re: Fictional Rosters have made me love The Show again!!

    Hey Baconites, I'm back.

I have spent the time from release messing around with "real" rosters. The new SDS Full Minors, Ridins, and others. Man just a mess. Between options being wrong and then fixed. My biggest issue with having all "real" players is the dreaded "Now batting Number 77, 36, 22 etc" Not to take away from any of these really great rosters or the hard work put into them.

But they are just not for me anymore.

The default The Show equipment, no audio files, generic stances and history. Its just bleh

There is so much more "life" in these rosters. I am starting fresh right now with the Bacon '20 set and I am not looking back.

    Long Live The Bacon

Hey Bacon, any way to erase the players history? I'm thinking of doing an all fictional team franchise( along with my Cub one i'm into now) but would like the league and players to have no history, start fresh. Just curious if it's a daunting task or not.

Re: Fictional Rosters have made me love The Show again!!

First time user of Bacon's roster and enjoying it a lot. Using the Braves and enjoying every game. After about 16 games here are some of my favorite guys.

Most Feared Pitchers: Zimmer (Marlins), Rivera (Mets), Villacios (DBacks), Thigpen (Padres)

Most Feared Hitters: Dwayne Scott (Marlins), Dallas Phillips (Padres), Rex West (Mets)

Favorite Braves: Jaylen Poole, JC Ray, Mike Bryant, Kyung He Lee (although I wish I was hitting better with him)

        Other thoughts:
-Big 3 pitchers for Atlanta are a lot of fun, threw a complete game shutout with Carson West in his first start. Love pitching with Jaylen Pool, nasty stuff with that 6'8 frame.

-Like the little stoylines you uncover like Chuck Souza being 40 and in his 19th season. Still got some power too.

-All players models are outstanding, real looking guys, but some have some flair. Enjoy seeing a big guy take the mound or step in the box and immediately have to pause and check his height/weight.

-Base stealers are legit. Will Cooley nabbed 4 bags in our season opening series. Guys stealing 2nd and then third if I'm not checking them. Awesome.

-Equipment edits look great and don't feel cheesey. Again some flair for a few guys makes them seem unique.

Overall just an awesome way to play this game and certainly brings the fun elements that I'm sure we all enjoy about games. Props to you Bacon!

I haven't figured out a way to erase player data actually. It's play it as is or start over with a different set at this point.

Biggest takeway here for me is baserunning. You're right. Baserunning is legit and some players are scary good. The roster has tons of unique players and wide ranges of all attributes.

I'm 1.0 games out of first and about to start a 3 game series at home with the first place team.

It's only mid-May, but I'm still pretty fired up for it. Loving this franchise and I could easily see myself getting through a season or two and then wanting to move it over to MLB 21. Definitely the most engaged I've ever been in a franchise.

Love how overalls don't mean as much. I have some high rated players riding the bench while their lower rated counterparts are having a great season. This also makes future planning fun. Do you go for the high overall player like you normally would or do you take a chance and grab a middle of the road player that is putting up numbers. So many questions and possible outcomes. Very exciting.

There are some truly great platoon guys in this roster too.

I've got a LF on my Tigers, Caleb Green.

Through 41 games, he is 2nd on the team in HR and RBI, despite having ~50% playing time.
The guy just EATS lefty pitching.

What an incredible roster. It is far more immersive than the real life rosters, IMO.

Hey Bacon, I just wanted to chime in here and say you have done one helluva job on these rosters.

I first found out about these from this thread and tried them on 18 and absolutely loved them. I just picked up 19 for cheap and downloaded the rosters again and was shocked to see pretty much all the same guys that were in 18 are in 19 as well.

I am using these in a bunch of play now games with the Dodgers, getting settled in with what sliders I'll be using (currently testing Armors from 19) and also the difficulty level trying out Hall of Fame...but getting my butt handed to me..

I know this is kinda a long post, but the short of it is this....these rosters rock!! and I will definitely be starting a franchise using these, I never thought the show could be this fun....Thanks again

Had one of them dudes come in from the Pen with the Twins against my A's (runnin a straight A's BaconChise, to go with my fantasy drafted O's BaconChise).

Same thought process [emoji23] and the contact i did make was trash lol. He scored the hold, thought I was almost gettin on the closer but two on - 1 out, he K'd up my last two batters.

Yet...you SOMEHOW managed to create a roster where the average individual ratings for major-league caliber guys come out to right around 60 (which according to the SDS devs is considered league average for the ratings in question). I have no clue if you really were gunning for that or not, but man....is it brilliantly well-balanced without players feeling generic.

My only gripe is I can't tear myself away from my Braves franchise with your roster to play my Reds carryover chise from last year.....
